2025.01.30 22:11 MiracleMan1979 My first build, a jazz guitar
Did this as my major design project at high school last year. Only had two months to build it so it was quite rushed. I designed it to be a jazz style slimline, with Les Paul components.
I also had to pay for materials, so good materials and components wasn’t my main concern, rather the rubric of the assignment was. The body’s made from Paulownia (swamp ash) and a mahogany fretboard, with a two piece front face made from scrap wood in the workshop. The components are cheap off eBay, Wilkinson pro hum-buckers and a very cheap les Paul wiring harness.
The guitar plays surprisingly well, the sustain is very good and I’ve had no problems with wiring or anything. My band and I played the girl from ipanema on it at my graduation to a pretty happy crowd. There’s definitely a few silly mistakes because of the time crunch, a couple cracks in the wood and some dents because the swamp ash is so soft, not a great choice if you’re thinking about it. Very light though.
Any feedback is much appreciated! I really enjoyed working on this and figuring out how I was gonna build it, definitely plan to build more now that I have unlimited time!

FreeDesktop.org hosts development of core Linux desktop projects like Mesa (GPU drivers for Linux), XOrg, and Wayland projects.
Equinix was giving them free service for the past ~5 years, but that sponsorship ends April 30, 2025.
The full technical specs of their current usage/needs can be found here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/freedesktop/freedesktop/-/issues/2011 but the TL;DR is that they are currently using 280 x86 cores, 160 Arm cores, ~14.5TB of NVMe storage, 96TB of HDD storage, all spread across 11 servers. They are also using ~55TB/month of bandwidth.
If LTT could hook up the project with a few servers from SuperMicro or such, that would likely be a huge help to them. Even better, and would make a better video, is if LTT actually ran the server in their racks. After all, LTT has a 6gpbs trunk line, which is certainly more than enough for an average use of 169.7mbps. And we all know how much the audience loves LTT server videos...

Having CWPHF for a while now, I feel like Harpoon maybe isn't the best fit with KOL. I think he is the trendy producer who was making big hits with Harry Styles, but it just didn't translate as well to KOL as I had hoped.
I think the pop driven production doesn't fit an older band like KOL anymore. It has been several albums now with Markus Dravs and now Harpoon where a lot of weird layers seem to be put on Caleb's voice. His voice is the strength of the band and I miss the richness and raw sound of the earlier of the albums before WALLS.
