I was recently terminated "without cause" following a letter to my colleagues I posted in a work group chat. The letter outlined my thoughts and feelings about what I perceived to be workplace harassment about my appearance, weight, and eating habits over the course of the year I worked there
I've heard employers will often request/require you to address your colleagues directly before filing an official report/complaint.
The situation was extra tricky because everyone in my workplace was participating, including my boss, who co-owns with her husband. I felt i couldn't report her and the others to him because of this conflict of interest. Everyone in the workplace was equally involved.
Anyway, I was fired "without cause" immediately after this message was sent out.
The letter was very long but respectful. I did mention this briefly to my boss following an incident a few days prior but no action was being taken to confront everyone and end the harassment
Everyone i know is telling me this was illegal and I should sue them, but I don't know.
My former employer says he was within his rights under the ESA to fire me, and is talking about "severance pay" being paid out to me immediately, and refusing to give me a certificate of completion of their training. but my biggest concern is
- was it illegal for them to fire me without cause when I confronted my coworkers about workplace harassment?
- is there a difference between severance pay and termination pay? How much am I owed in this situation?
- do I have a legal leg to stand on if I didn't file an official report before this incident?
- should I file a complaint with the labour board OR file a lawsuit?

Hi, I am ria (28 F) currently engage with my fiance (29 M). 8 years in a relationship, 5 years engage and 4 years living together. No child.

Pero, ung lola ko (sya nagpalaki samin magkakpatid dahil nag wowork both ung parents ko oversease), supprotive naman sana sa desisyon namin since matagal na talaga namin plano magpakasal. Kaso lagi na poppstpone dahil ayaw pa non ng mother ko since bata pa kami. Pero nung time na magpaplan na kami at pumayag na ung mother ko, nagkasakit sya bigla at sa ksamaang palad nawala sya samin. Kya after a year nawala ng mother ko, nag decide kami na mag palano ng kasal dahil wala naman na problema. Support naman both sides samin pati friends.
Kaso nung nagpa book na kami ng simbahan, unavailable ung ibang dates. At kailangan namin sabado para makaattend ung ibang friends and relatives namin dahil working at nasa ibang bansa pa ung iba.
Ung lola ko, gusto maliwanag daw ung bwan pag kinasal kami. (Idc what kind of supersticious is that. Hindi talaga kami naniniwala sa mga ganyan ng fiance ko pati ng parents ko) nag try kami ibook ung mga date na okay sa lola ko. Pero lahat naka reserve na. Nag coconflict sa coordinator namin. Pag okay sa church, sa coordinator hindi. Dahil ung iba, nag advance booking na from last year. Pag sabi ko sa lola ko na ganon, bigla syang nag dabog at tumaas ung boses. Sabi nya “Ayaw ko yan!! Hindi yan maganda. Walang buwan! Madilim yan” nagulat kami ng fiance ko sa reaction nya. Sinunod na namin ung gusto nya na magpakasal sa malapit lang samin na simbahan, at kung sinong pari ang kakasak samin para lang pampalubag loob kasi color hlack ung theme namin. Which she oppose too. Madami kaming plan na hindi natuloy para sa dream wedding namin pero para wala nang samaan ng loob, pumayag nalang ung fiance ko. Walang gagastusin ung side ko or ako sa kasal. Lahat, sagot ng fiance ko at family nya. Ako na nahihiya ksi andaming demand ng lola ko. Although, mabait naman ung lola ko. Pero hindi ko maiwasan sumama din ung loob ksi hindi namin ma control ung date na dapat ikakasal kami dahil complicated talaga sa lahat. Ayaw naman namin ng date na alam naming wala halos makakapunta sa mga kaibigan namin dahil alanganin din. Ayong date lang talaga ung pinaka okay sa lahat pero ung problema, ayon lang din ung araw na ayaw ng lola ko. Hindi naman kami people pleaser pero alam namin ung buhay ng may trabaho at may boss.
Gusto pa ni lola na, sabihan ung coordinator na mag adjust sa date na gusto namin. At kung hindi daw sila mag adjust, ibang coordinator kukunin namin. Like wth? Grabeng dasal ginawa ko para lng makuha ung coordinator nato para sa kasal namin dahil lagi silang fully book. Sobrang mahal din ng packages nila pero binigay lahat sakin ng fiance ko ung gusto ko. Dahil isang beses lang daw kami ikakasal. Ayoko talaga to pakawaln dahil para sakin, sila talaga may pinaka magandang styling sa mga events lalo na para sa theme namin. (Nasa province ksi kami kaya bihira makahanap ng maayos na coordinator at hindi scammer)
My dad is comforting me and told me na, palipasin nalang daw ung nga araw at magiging okay din daw ung lola ko. My dad is very supportive. Hindi rin takaga sita naniniwala sa mga supersticious beliefs kaso alam nyang lola ko nagpalaki samin at nag alaga kaya nirerespeto nya parin gusto ni lola.
Pero pano kung hanggang sa malapit na unng kasal hindi parin sya umo-okay? Ayoko din may samaan kmi ng loob. Nagtatampo na din ung fiance ko na lagi daw siya nag aadjust mula noon. Nahihiya na din ako skanila ng family nya kasi lagi kami ung problema.
Ako ba ung mali dito? Kasi mas pinili kong okay ung date para sa mga bisita namin? Mahal ko ang lola ko at ayokong galit sya sakin. Pero wala lang talaga kaming choice kundi magpakit ng coordinator or hayaan ang lola ko at hintayin na humupa ung galit nya. Ayaw na namin ipostpone sa ibang bwan pa dahil gusto talaga namin ung June. Pero nakakasama parin talaga ng loob na parang siya ung ikakasal imbes na ako. Dahil gusto nya sya mag desisyon.

My aunt literally said this to me just now and compelled me to want to write a post on this. That’s because she is not the only one who says this. I told her that if I could just get over it, you think I would be suffering right now? Why would I choose to do this to myself? Why would I choose to be isolated and lonely and miss out on social experiences growing up? Why would I choose to be sad and jealous seeing what the normal person has had with their normal social development? That I can’t even meet that baseline of normal and then I am gaslit or I am told to just get over it. That’s the other funny thing. It’s never any understanding, right? It’s either people telling you. It’s all in your head or they’re telling you to just get over it.
If therapy was magic, we wouldn’t be suffering. There might be ways in which therapy can help us cope, but it’s really not a problem solver for social anxiety, that would require us to go back into our childhood and have our parents fix what happened. Social skills are like language acquisition. You learn it best during your childhood. When it is meant to be learned.

Heya all! I've got a cat (4) and dog (<12mts) and can't seem to scan either of them with my Flipper. I've looked up similar info but a lot of it is generic to microchip types, and I'm not sure what might have been used in these cases. The vet's scanner picked up Pup's chip fine (somewhere near left shoulder) but not the cat at all. Anyone have any advice on how I can troubleshoot finding and scanning these, including perhaps if anyone has experience with cats getting theirs in different places? Our cat's a rescue so unlike Pup, we don't know where that chip is or who implanted it, but have cat's paper info. We have records of the Pup's chipping.
I'm far from any good with things like this and still very much learning the Flipper (by doing, of course) so I could be doing anything wrong here. Thanks all!

A couple months back, the in laws came to stay and brought their cat without consent. (Im not allowed to have pets here). When I went to work I came back to a shredded up carpet about the size of a baseball. Very noticeable. I told my husband and them that this needed to be fixed immediately so my landlord wouldn’t fine us (1 full months rent for pet damages). It’s been months of procrastinating and I told my husband I think it would be a good idea to have a carpet repair company fix it and send them the bill. When I told him this he started screaming saying how rude of a thought that was and to let them get time to repair it themselves. AITAH for a suggestion like that?

Me (22f) and my bf (22m) have been together for 6 years. Now I would say for about a year or so I have been staying at his parents house and basically live there (literally there 24/7). Now let’s get to the juice. I’m currently at work and learned that when I get off work at 11 pm there’s going to be an unknown male in the home. I learned his sister has brought a man she met online to stay at the home for 5 DAYS. I’m so mf worried rn. Currently me, my bf, his little brother (13) ,sister (20) ,his mother and father live at that house and now this random person knows where this home and who stays there. Nobody can tell me anything about this man. all i know is that she meet him online, he lives in NY and she’s “known him for a while”. What does that mean!?!? No one can tell me how long a while is or how they met!! Like at least have this person stay at a hotel and yall meet up to hang out?? You’re telling me the first meet up with this guy and he’s staying at the house? Where we sleep and shower!?! I’m so not comfortable sleeping in the home knowing there’s an unknown man here! She seems to trust him a lot and my bf keeps telling me he looks like a geek?? Like bro idc what he looks like! jeffrey dahmer looked like a geek! It doesn’t matter what you look like! yall are just meeting this man for the first time!! I feel like I’m going crazy! And secondly my bf and his dad work 5 days a week a 9-5 job. On the other hand his sister and mom don’t have a job they stay at home and the little brother goes to school. So you’re basically telling me that your mom and sister will be left at the house alone with this guy! I made up my mind that I’m not staying at the home for those 5 days. It’s so unsettling to me to think that this guy is going to be inches away from where imma be sleeping.. idk I need to hear some other opinions because I’m losing my mind rn..like yes I know you can meet a lot of great ppl online but why is the first meet up with this guy staying at the house! Like why not a hotel and he comes over to hang out? I think that’s a little better for the first time that there meeting? I think I’m going nuts. 😵💫

I am recently diagnose autistic at 45. And so many things I understood about myself from before I now understand to be an autistic response. Anyone else looking at everything with brand new eyes?
I'm on the second episode of this show and there are so many things that I now KNOW would be an issue because of the autism.
1-Those white ked shoes. I always thought I had huge wide feet and that's why all shoes annoyed me when they touched me around the front. Now I know it's more of a sensory issue.
2-The guy who is making vomit sounds..... like I would have to get as far away from him as possible. If he vomited I would too and then I'd be screwed up for at least a day.
3-They have to wear socks, that's going to make me sweat. No socks would give me a bad feeling and I'd need baby powder in my shoes.
4-The food, like wth is that? Not likely going to be able to eat that.
5-Sleeping with all those people in the room? If there's a noise or any kind of light I'm going to be tossing and turning all night.
6-I also need like 4 pillows to sleep comfortably, one between legs, one at back, one at front and one under head. I don't know what it is about the back pillow, it just feels soo comforting. Like a hug without someone actually touching me, because if someone were to actually be touching me while I sleep that would be annoying, lol.
7-They fall down in the sand and lay there.... no, the sand texture against my clothes and face would not be pleasant.
8-The clothes at least look confortable. But hopefully it's not to hot in there.
9-If that water for their bottles is warm I would gag.
10-I would need something sweet to wash down the food with after otherwise I'm more likely to have some gastro issue if I keep tasting the food.
Anyone else watch shows and think about these things? LOL.
