- Male: Exercise-induced asthmaFemale: PCOS
- Current Medications:
- Male: Salbutamol 200 mcg (used as needed, a few times per week)
- Substance Use:
- Both rarely drink alcoholSmoke marijuana 1–2 times per month
- Smoking Status:
- Non-smokers (except for occasional marijuana use)
- She had no previous sexual partners.
- This made us think that it has to be related to me, although I have never experienced any symptoms, including oral thrush.
- Each infection was treated successfully with a single-dose 500 mg miconazole capsule, but they always returned.
- Strict hygiene: sanitizing anything used during sex immediately after
- Switching to cotton underwear
- More frequent pad changes
- Diet changes
- I used a two-week course of miconazole cream as a precaution
- She has also been prescribed an oral Fluconazol tablet
Today, I picked up a new prescription for Salbutamol and read that failing to rinse your mouth after using the inhaler can lead to yeast infections oral thrush and tooth decay. I had NEVER heard this before and i dont think i haver EVER rinsed my mouth after using the inhaler.
This led me to wonder:
- Could I be unknowingly harboring Candida in my mouth while remaining asymptomatic?
- Is it possible that I am passing it to my girlfriend during oral contact?
- Could this explain why her infections keep recurring?
Is this a plausible explanation, or am I overthinking the connection? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My roommates cooked in the dorm bathroom with a portable gas stove for 30 minutes with no windows open. This was an hour and a half ago, and I only just now got them to open the window. How fucked am I? I already experienced minor mental slipups during the hour and a half but idk how much of it is just from anxiety.
