I understand that people come from different backgrounds and cultures, but here’s where I’m at with my relationship. My boyfriend and I have been together for three years. When we first started dating, I wasn’t out yet, but over time, I’ve told my friends and family. Not everyone approves, but that’s my life, and I get to choose who makes me happy. (For context, I’m African American.)
My boyfriend, who is Mexican, still hasn’t told his family about us. His friends know, but they only found out because they saw us cuddling one day. He didn’t tell them, but when they walked in, he kind of pushed me off him.
The issue is, we’ve been dating for a while now, and he says he’ll tell his family at the right time, but it never happens. When I visit him, I stay in the guest room, and he introduces me as just one of his “best friends.” When we’re around new people or at a club, he acts distant and seems embarrassed. There’s more to it, but the main thing is that he’s made a lot of promises and hasn’t followed through. I’ve told him that I love him, but he hasn’t fully accepted himself or taken any of the risks I have.
I told him that, even though we have so many great memories and he’s amazing, at the end of 2025, I’m planning to leave if things don’t change. I don’t want to be with someone who’s ashamed to acknowledge me or who’s not comfortable being themselves. Did I make the wrong choice by saying that?

I had initially applied for SSDI in 2018 due to multiple issues, including an L1 fracture, vein insufficiency, and others. That application went to recon, and 3 ALJ hearings (2 different ALJ’s),and told the next step would need to be federal court. I couldn’t navigate the forms to file and missed the 60 day deadline. I refiled in March of 2024 and have been stuck at step 3 since April. Just got a call from SSA today to verify my employment (seasonal work, max 24 hours/week, 6 months a year, sedentary work). I was told they will be sending out a decision by the end of next week. Hoping for “good” news of an approval

I came back from the game after not playing it for a really long time and am trying to get into it. I have had a really good start, I am a fire officer, have got plenty of food, a well maintained car and settled at the dual farmhouses near rosewood. Now I am wondering, what is next? Should I go into rosewood and get supplies? Do I drive there or walk and take less risk with the noise? And when I get back to base, how should I reinforce. I am hoping that someone may have the answer here regarding clarifying the following.
My imposition date/end of interlock program is coming up very soon (February 3rd, 2025), and I have verified with the MVA that I can bring my interlock to my service center as early as February 4th, 2025 in order to do a “final” download of data.
I have previously only gone to my service center every month (or 30 days) in order to complete calibration requirements. I was able to walk in with no appointment required for this.
Since I will be eligible to bring my interlock in on the 4th for the final data download, and this will not be a regular calibration, do I need to call Intoxalock ahead of time to request any special appointment, or can I simply go to my service center and ask them to run a final data download to send the results to the MVA?
