2025.01.31 01:30 DidTheGoatDance Kitten won’t eat anything

I’ve had my British shorthair kitten for almost a week now. When I got him last week I thought he looked too skinny. He did eat a little bit of dry and wet food the first day. He only ate very little dry food (just a couple pellets) for the next 2 days, he’ll smell the wet food and walk away. He has a total lack of interest in food. Yesterday and today he literally ate nothing (except for a squeeze churn treat) . Other than that he’s acting normal. He did throw up a mucous like liquid this morning
I took him to the vet yesterday and she didn’t think it was any big deal and tested for parasites. There were none. I’m bringing him to the urgent care vet tomorrow. I’m really worried but like I said, the vet was unconcerned. The kitten does not eat. It isn’t normal.
Does anyone have experience with anything like this. I’m worried it’s some kind of infection I understand the cat hasn’t been with me long, but this not eating hardly anything at all is worrisome.

In a previous post my my wife left one Food Lion and went to another. She has been working at the new one for about 2 and a half weeks but never got a check. They told her the checks were at the old one and so we drove the 40 minutes and picked them up yesterday. One was her final check from the old store and the other was for the first week of work. Well today they gave her another check that included the first week again but also has the second week of pay as well. Should she cash the check and give them the difference back or not cash it and wait for them to fix the mistake?

I’m at a career crossroads and would love some perspectives.
I fully understand that this is my decision to make, but I’m curious to hear different viewpoints.
I’m currently a Senior Director-level product leader with an opportunity to move into a Senior Director role at a larger, well-known bank (non-tech). The bank has a reputation for PIPs, but, this level tends to be more stable. On the other hand, I also have an opportunity to step into a VP of Product role at a Series C tech company in the retail vertical.
The VP role is something I’ve been working toward and would allow me to take on greater leadership responsibility. However, it comes with more risk—likely a lower salary and the inherent instability of a growing startup. The Senior Director role, while not an executive position, offers more stability.
I’m in my mid-40s and aiming to break into executive leadership before ageism becomes a challenge. Given these options, what would you do? Would you prioritize stability or take the VP role to accelerate the path to executive leadership?
Would love to hear your thoughts!

so i’ve been working at this company for almost a year now, and my boss (let’s call him dave) has always been... weird. not in a creepy way at first, just overly friendly. always complimenting me, finding reasons to stop by my desk, laughing a little too hard at my jokes. but i figured whatever, some guys are just like that.
but last week, he called me into his office for a “serious talk.” i thought maybe i screwed something up, but nope. he started off super professional, saying how much he appreciates my work, how he sees so much potential in me, blah blah. then he hits me with “i want to fast-track you to a better position, but i need to know you’re willing to... be flexible.”
at first, i didn’t even process what he meant. i was like, oh maybe overtime? different tasks? but then he gets up, closes the door, and leans against his desk like, “i think we could help each other.” the way he said it, the way he looked at me, i instantly knew.
i kinda laughed nervously like “uhh what?” and he just smiled, all casual, saying, “it’s up to you. you don’t have to answer now.” like he was doing me some huge favor.
i left his office feeling sick. i haven’t told anyone, not even my work friends. i feel like if i say something, he’ll find a way to fire me, and i need this job. but if i don’t... what if he tries again? what if he’s done this to other girls?? i don’t know wtf to do.
