2025.01.31 01:41 Not_A_Clicker_Yet Tips for DMing for a two-player party?
I am a DM for my three players but one of them plans on leaving the campaign for personal reasons. He also wasn't very consistent in showing up so I did many sessions just for the two players.
I don't mind DMing for just the two of them but it really shows DnD was made with more players in mind. Balancing encounters, higher TPK probability, even many puzzles or encounters just do not work for such a small party.
What are your best tips for running a game for two players? Any advice, houserule, tips for resources?
(I am not planning on inviting a new player or run a DMPC)

Lo pregunto Por el tema de la seguridad y de los amantes de lo ajeno. Me interesaría comprar una Hummer H3, específicamente. Desde niño siempre me parecían unos carros preciosos, y fue algo tipo: de grande voy a tener uno de esos. Crecí y nunca se me quitó esa espinita. Los sigo considerando perrones. Ahora soy adulto y ando viendo lo de mi primer auto propio, y me llena de ilusión poder tener uno. Me di cuenta que no son carros caros realmente. Está dentro de mis posibilidades el adquirir muy bien uno, modelo 2007. Que yo sé que es viejo y todo, pero bueno, jalan chingón me he subido a algunas y no deja de ser impresionante para mi. La verdad es que vi que Cualquier Nissan Versa o similar nuevo anda costando más de lo que cuesta una Hummer h3. El pedo aquí es que estoy indeciso en comprar una Hummer por el tema de que llama mucho la atención. A pesar de ser un tanto baratas por ser carros viejos, creo o me da la impresión de que la mayor parte de la gente sigue creyendo que son carros de millonarios o de ricos. Y yo no quiero llamar la atención de posibles criminales. Además esos carros les quedó esa fama pues de ser de ricos. Y yo no soy millonario ni nada así que tampoco quiero aparentarlo. Aunquecomo digo hoy ya no sea así, los hummer creo que dan esa pinta verdad?. Entonces mi pregunta va por el lado de que tan inteligente sería comprar una con el clima actual de seguridad en México en torno a robos, fraudes, estafas, extorsiones. Traer una hummer me convertiría en un objetivo para gente mala? O es más un miedo infundado?
Que debería saber? Gente que tenga o haya tenido una por favor cuéntenme lo que sepan.

Hi there. I filed in March 2024 and had my exams in October with Loyal Source and VES. Loyal Source DBQ's were returned the same month. It is January 30, 2025 and I am still waiting on VES. During this time, my temp jurisdiction has bounced from N/A to Roanoke a few times. I assume the VA is putting 30-day status checks on my claim to see if VES has finally submitted. Long story short, after talking to both VES and the VA, my claim has gone from Roanoke to VA Central Office. I am in step 3, btw. Does anyone know why it would go to VACO? Thanks in advance.

I don’t really know much about cars.
But my car is Holden Cruze CDX 2010 diesel.
It drives fine sometimes, but when I’m going up hill it takes long time to get to full speed. Then when I’m going downhill it goes faster cause of gravity.
Sometimes it just takes awhile to get up to speed.
So why is my car doing this. I literally got it serviced last week lol

Picked up a bottle of Byredo Sellier after trying a decant and deciding I had to have it. I’ve gone through countless decants before finding a winner. I find it to be incredibly smokey and smooth yet fresh at the same time. Unlike anything I currently own.
Anyway…the first time I wear it around my wife she says it smells “putrid” and “horrible.”

2025.01.31 01:41 ITSMRFOXY_ARTS Will giant robots ever be viable for anything? What holds us back from them as of now?
Note: By giant robot, i mean a humanoid bipedal robot over 3m tall at least. Think Tetsujin 28, Giant Robo, AV-98 Ingram (Patlabor), RX-78 (Gundam). Wether controlled externally or piloted from inside would also be an interesting debate.
Giant robots are inherently an impractical idea. Most of the jobs a giant robot would do are already done by tanks, and tanks don't need to crawl to hide from danger, they have a lower silhouette.
Giant robots are useful in their versatility, in military situations they can destroy buildings, fortifications, even cities, using their arms and legs, without wasting ammo that can be used when it is more needed, and lowering overall burdens on industry and logistics.
On industry and constructions, giant robots are not specialized, and can do multiple roles when adequately trained or controlled, so they can be switched around the production line instead of having to stop it when a specialized robot breaks down.
Is it worth developing giant robots for any tech company today? What are the key chokepoints to a future where giant robots are common?
