Hi everyone, I wanted to share an update after some time to think things through. Thank you to everyone who shared advice and support. It’s been invaluable in helping me decide how to move forward.
After a lot of reflection, I decided against asking for a separation. I know it’s probably not what most of reddit would like to hear but I am definitely against a divorce, despite the many suggestions to do so. Instead, I sat my husband down and told him we had to address how this entire situation was handled, or really, not handled. I explained how the way he left, the things he said, and his refusal to talk about it hurt me, and that sweeping it under the rug was not an option if we wanted this marriage to work.
I told him that we needed therapy and counseling for both of us, together and individually. I was honest about how much I love him and how important our relationship is to me, but I also said that if he wasn’t willing to meet me halfway and work on things, I couldn’t see this marriage lasting. It was one of the hardest conversations I’ve ever had, but I knew I couldn’t keep holding everything in while pretending everything was fine.
At first, he was mad and then he got quiet, and I could tell he was processing everything I was saying. He looked sad, but he didn’t get defensive this time, which felt like progress. After some silence, he finally agreed. He admitted he hasn’t been handling things well and never should have said what he had. He said he’s willing to go to therapy with me. He admitted that he hadn’t meant to leave for so long but he was too ashamed to come back home. I was honestly surprised, but also relieved to hear him acknowledge that something needs to change. I didn’t want to push him any further, so I’m going to wait until we’re in front of a counselor to fully readdress this whole situation again. For now, i’m just focused on getting back into a steady routine at home again.
We’ve found a counselor, and our first session is scheduled in about a week or so. I know this isn’t a quick fix, and I’m not expecting everything to magically get better overnight, but it feels like a step in the right direction. I’m cautiously hopeful that this will help us to communicate better and address the deeper issues in our relationship.
I’m still a little nervous about how things will go, but I’m proud of myself for setting a boundary and making it clear what I need in this marriage. I don’t know what the future holds, but at least now I feel like we’re taking action.
I love my husband and while this was a really rough bump for us, I strongly believe that we should take every possible step we can to better ourselves and our life together before we give it all up. He has shown a willingness to change and better himself in the past and I am relying on this fact to get through this.
For everyone who suspected he may have cheated, I now know that he hasn’t. The friend he stayed with was a mutual acquaintance from our military days and he told me exactly how mopey my husband was the whole time he was there. I do appreciate everyone’s concern though, I am choosing to trust him.

These guys have been on a roll over the past few years. They are working on revolutionary medicine for eyes (oncology). Stuff that will replace needles and surgeries. Pfizer has invested a-lot in 2024, which means they have a lot of say in the pipeline of the medicines. Some people believe Cardiff is going to get bought out by Pfizer before 2026. It isnt rare for Parma buyouts to be 30x the stock price.

I think my cat is bored. He paws at the walls and meows loudly often. His food and water bowl are full and litter is clean. Taking today for example I played with him was a wand toy for 30 minutes early and probably pet him for about 20. I have multiple areas set up for his enrichment. I filled the bathtub and put bottle caps with treats in them to float in there and the little fish that swim around on their own. I also have some boxes set up with plastic bags and tissue paper crinkled with treats and catnip in them for him to rummage through. Nothing is getting his interest he's still in the other room meowing loudly. He likes cat tv but gets bored quickly and is picky. Anything that makes noise will scare him and he isn’t treat motivated. At some point I have to get work done- any advice on cat enrichment. Do you think I'm right that he's just bored? I'm tight on money right now so any cheap ideas are appreciated but I would be willing to spend a little money if it would make a big difference for him.

I'm the slowest jogger, and until about last summer also the biggest. Still, on cool days, I can do a 5+ mile loop in just over an hour. I was proudly jogging 2-3 times a week, but sadly didn't lose an ounce. And to boot, I was getting painful nipple chafing. I even bought nipple guards which worked well.
Then some health setbacks grounded me for a few months. In the meantime I started Wegovy. Since then, I lost 10% of weight, and 2 inches around the chest. I've resumed jogging, and I'm happy to report the nipple chaffing is gone. For now. Yay. Nifty NSV.
