Context: I sometimes have similar pop-ups to the discussion above that says "Task Host Window prevents shutdown" whenever I shut down my laptop, and I kinda find this a little bit bothersome. Now, I have followed the steps mentioned in the discussion above (up to troubleshooting), but the problem lies at that part. Each time i try to shut down my PC it keeps saying that Task Host is stopping background tasks and never shuts down. I can leave it on for 10 minutes, even when there is nothing else running and it still doesn't shut down. Each time I need to press "shut down anyway" or else it won't turn off. Click on Open Task Manager. In the Task Manager, go to the Startup tab. Disable all startup items by right-clicking each item and selecting Disable. Apply Changes and Restart: Close the Task Manager. In the System Configuration window, click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. To return to a normal startup after troubleshooting: I recently installed windows 11 on my device and I have noticed a task called PresentMon has been using up a good amount of cpu. 2025.01.31 02:41 ThumbBumpkins Cloud saves not working for download, upload seems to work just fine

I just set up a HTPC running Bazzite, and am now using that alongside my Steam Deck. I’m using EmuDeck on both, so for the first time I am trying to get cloud saves working so I can easily bounce back and forth between devices. I have set up cloud saves on both, and it is reportedly working, but it isn’t properly moving my saves between devices. After a little investigating, it seems like for both my Deck and my Bazzite PC, they are *uploading* just fine. Upon game launch and when I quit the games, the cloud sync notification appears and the saves do get uploaded. Whenever I check the cloud drive, I can see that the most recent save was uploaded from either machine. However, they never check for or download cloud saves upon game launch. I’ve tried this with both Dropbox and OneDrive.
Obviously without automatic downloads as well as uploads this feature is barely worthwhile. Is there some setting or something that I’m missing here? It would be great if I could get this working, if the whole thing works as smoothly as the uploading portion seems to, this seems like it could be great.

When I was 22 I went on a spirit drive on my motorcycle. It was probably midnight and I stopped at a turn out to look at the stars and the city lights.
It was then a car pulled up and stopped, it was a kid, 15-17. He said he shouldn't have ever started driving because he was too high and too drunk, and begged me to drive him home.
I denied him because I was worried about my motorcycle being left there in the middle of no where. I offered to follow him home very very slowly though. He was so blasted he crashed into a ditch and tree only a minute later.
Should I have driven this kid home? I feel like the easy response is absolutely, he asked for help because he didn't feel safe to drive. That's the only thing you should do at that point right?
But I was selfish, I was more worried about my motorcycle than this kids life. I have tons of guilt years later
I wanna know If I should have been a bro and ditched my bike to drive this kid home. He did the right thing, he realized he was too dangerous behind the wheel and asked for help. That's smart. I denied him and he immediately crashed his car.

Hi, I applied to the Williams Work Experience for 2025 and got a swift rejection about a week after I submitted my application. Due to “the volume of applications,” they can’t give feedback which is frustrating because I don’t know how to improve. For reference, I am a 16 year old Asian American girl in 10th grade. In my CV, I stated my experience on my robotics team and also my engineering program at my school. To be honest, I had no prior experience with CV writing and I also don’t have anything motorsport related since my school doesn’t really do stuff like that nor are there many opportunities near me. My response in the video is shown below as well as my CV. I’ll admit, my video wasn’t amazing but I didn’t think it was too bad. The main thing is I have no idea where I went wrong that led me to be rejected so early on. Was it because I would need a visa? Was it from my lack of motorsport experience? Was it my lack of awards and extracurriculars? I have no idea.
Honestly I didn’t think I would get in, but it still hurts so much because I really wanted to go since I want to be an F1 engineer. Also, someone I know hasn’t gotten a rejection email yet and embarrassing as it is, I’m feeling a little bitter at the situation. I also have no one to really talk about this either, so it’s been pent up and I feel like I’m about to break down because this was my only chance and I don’t think any other F1 teams does stuff for people my age.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!! I would like to figure out where I can improve, where to get more experience, and any other teams and such that have programs for my age. Thank you, any response is greatly appreciated because I just need to talk to someone about it.

There are a lot of interesting changes in each of these mods, ranging from Increasing the effectiveness of shadows to allowing you to holster your gun, new goggle, vision types, and, of course, the much requested balaclava. Other notable mentions are that you can increase the number of enemies in Charlie missions, the number of reinforcements in Kobin missions, and disable failure on detection in Grim missions. FOV slider options as well.
I will post the mods below. Based on the description of each mod, I think they overrite some of the same files, so I believe I will get different results depending on what order I install the mods in. Among other things, they both change some of the goggle functionality.
Back when blacklist first came out, I always wanted more effective shadows and to be able to go empty-handed, with my gun fully holstered. It appears that folks have finally made some mods to achieve those things. Unfortunately, there are two separate mods, and I am hoping someone knows if I can use them together.
I am thinking that I should install the Chaos Theory Gameplay Tweak first and then install the BLUR Fusion edition. I am totally new to modding and only just tried it for the first time to be up to get Conviction funni g on the steam deck.
I have backed up the vanilla game files in case I screw something up, but I don't know how to restore them. Although i'm guessing it's easy cause the mod I installed to Conviction was intimidating but turned out to just be simply downloading a file and dropping it in a folder...

Fortnite OG just doesn’t feel how it used to. Many people claim it’s just a different time and it will never be the same. No, it just needs to actually be made the same. A few things I think would make the game many loved, truly return. First, a locked 1 second edit time and possibly remove turbo building to discourage whatever the state of fighting is now. It’s sad that gun skill and strategy takes a back seat to building mechanics. Second, no visual audio. Third, remove advanced movement. Fourth, make the damage and damage range as effective as they used to be on guns, especially the shotguns. They used to deal massive damage at way longer distances which resulted in fights not immediately boxing up. There is no element of surprise in fortnite at all anymore. There is no strategy. There is only who is the most unemployed. What do you think would make it actually the way it used to be?

Hey all, I just tried a San Juan worm out as I was told it was an easier pattern. And guess what! It was super fun and as easy as I was told. I know it is not the best looking, and purple was the only chenille I had, but holy cow I had a blast. Also it looks similar to the color of the trout magnets I used to obliterate the stockies on my home river.
