First thing, I found a nodule on my thyroid in 2020. Got it biopsy came back benign. Fast forward to dec 12 2024 I thought it has grown. I got check out with an ultrasound. Found out it's grown to double it's size since 2020.
I got another biopsy done on Dec 24th. I got results jan 9th 2025 saying it's abnormal and needs to do a molecular test done for cancer. I just got those results back and I have a moderate to high risk it's cancer. I have to wait until I get a call from my endocrinologist to talk it over the results and treatment. But it's 65-75% malignancy.
So I told my family and my mom said to go to natural doctor before they kill me. I am probably not going to do that but ill listen to the endocrinologist. But now I'm freaking out about this and so is my boyfriend of 10 years. Has anyone had a similar results what did you do?

My partner and I moved up here from NYC a few years ago and it's been an adjustment finding good restaurants. We found a few gems in the area but we've always been on the hunt for something mind blowing. Recently saw that a new restaurant opened up in Colchester called Café Mamajuana.
Figured we give it a try. Low expectations. First bite and we lost our minds. This was incredible Dominican food. Authentic, home cooked, flavorful, the real deal. My partner is Puerto Rican and she nearly cried. We met the owner and she was so lovely. She's young and runs it with her family, her mom included. I'm curious if anyone else here has tried it. I'm praying this place stays open forever.

2025.01.31 02:30 Recurringg Not a fan of Dark Fog
I just spent countless hours trying to destroy them on my second planet and it was all a waste. You reach a point in the game where you need Titanium & Silicon, but you need to go to a second planet or moon for that, and the need arises long before you get interplanetary logistics. That on it's own kind of bothered me, but I figured, my main planet was holding them off, even though they had reached the maximum level--it's fine. On the second planet I went in with a plan to destroy them with missiles early on, so I wouldn't have to deal with them.
After hours of meticulously setting this up, I succeeded in destroying them. I thought, alright, I can bring some Titanium & Silicon back to my home world and carry on researching. Then I hear "Dark Fog Base thingy approaching" and a new one landed somewhere else on the planet.
Now I realize, there's no point in dealing with them, and all those hours were wasted. I'm better off leaving them and collecting their loot than actually destroying them. They're not a major issue, and I'm fine with all that, It's just that I've literally spent the last ten hours fucking around with them and it was all just a huge waste of time. I just wish the game had told me. Yes, I know you can turn them off, but I like the idea of enemies. I just think they're so poorly implemented. The game gives you no early game mobile units. You only have stationary objects for dealing with them, and they're so weak, all they really amount to is an annoyance.
Other than that I am, or was, really enjoying the game. However, I just had to shut it off for the night out of frustration. I'll either turn them off or roll back to an earlier save next time I play. I just wish they were more engaging, but maybe this just isn't that kind of game. I've enjoyed setting up production chains and logistics a thousand times more than anything related to the Dark Fog so far. Sorry for the rant, I'm just pissed I wasted so much time on them when I could have been focusing on building my Dyson Sphere.
If the devs read this, what I would suggest is that once you destroy a base, instead of a new one arriving on the planet, instead have the hive send little incursions where they send a bunch of units to a random spot on your planet and start attacking stuff. Then give me the mobile/ground units to deal with them at a somewhat early point in the game. If I could setup patrols that would be great too. It would also give me more of a reason to build defensive structures all over the place, instead of in these contrived blobs the way the game currently forces me to.

142k for 9 months of work. If I can find someone to pay it to the university, I can get paid for the remaining 3 months at about $15k a month. I have managed to do this every year since I became a professor.
I was paid less than 30k a year for 7 years as a PhD student, and then 70k a year for 2 as a postdoc, all for 12 months a year at often 50 or 60 hours a week. I started as an assistant professor 11 years ago at 90k for 9 months. I still work about 50 hours a week.
My laboratory employs 14 people. My university is not a fancy or famous one, but we do good research and development here.
I feel lucky. I also know that if I had gone into industry I would be paid nearly double by now. If I had gone into government I would make about the same but I would have started earning good money sooner with much less work.
I'm from a poor background, and my family has worked hard but are all stuck at the 30-40k level. I'm helping my little sister get her Master's degree now, and my cousin to get her BS. No one in my family ever had a college degree before me. That is also true for almost all of my graduate students.
Like most people who are professors, I had practically no savings or investments until my mid 40s. I also deferred having children and a partner. I do love my job and my academic family and my birth family.

In my 10g tank lives a female Peacock Gudgeon and around 7 small amano shrimp. They are slightly smaller than the gudgeon, maybe half of her size.
I had been finding what looked to be shells of the shrimp, hollow with no body, and assumed it was a molt, though it happened consecutively for about 3-4 days and I was worried they were dying off.
I just found one of the shrimp cut in half, literally surgical precision and does not look like it was thrashed around or the like. Now I struggle with my gudgeon to eat anything because of how small her mouth is, and I got her a week ago. I could not see my gudgeon cutting a shrimp half her size in half???
Is this possible? Her mouth is so incredibly small and she spits out anything that she COULD thrash around to break apart. What the heck happened!
