2025.01.31 02:50 Stinger1101 7980X Clock Speed & Temperature Query
Hi,
I recently built a 7980X PC with an Asus TRX50 motherboard & 4 * 96GB PC5-5600 RAM. I noticed the clock speed even when idle is always 4.7GHz or higher. I've only had Intel PCs previously so I'm wondering if this is normal for a 7980X? since the base clock is 3.2GHz. Is it a particular feature that is doing it and can it be tuned higher or lower? I'm only using default settings in BIOS.
Also regarding the temperatures, it's sitting at about 60c idle and goes up to 80c under load with a Noctua NH-U14S TR5-SP6 HSF. Is this ok?

First I would like to apologize for my lack of grammar and incohesive thoughts. I don't know who I can turn to and I just want to vent everything out in an unbiased setting where people don't know me...
I've gone through some immense trauma when I was younger (middle school/ highschool), and have gone to therapy since college to overcome it. To make a long story short, a family member broke my trust and ended up in prison.
Now in my 20's the criminal is out of jail, and I thought I healed. The biggest problem of this all is my immediate family. My parents have turned to their faith and asked the family to forgive the criminal. I got several texts that I could hopefully "forgive " this person and that I should find it in my heart.
I no longer can remember my childhood from this person, and have began having nightmares about those past circumstances. I have limited memories about growing up, accomplishments, or even what life looked like. It feels like I lost consciousness and its a blanket of fog. It's probably just the coping mechanism I adapted. Anyways...
I've started therapy again to try to get to the root of this issue. At the end of the day, I don't want to lose my immediate family over the trials and tribulations. I also refuse to forgive what happened. It's been years since I started this healing. I'll get better one day.
Just remember family is trust and choice. No matter what happens you can choose the people you surround yourself with, and who you allow to be in your life. I have to remind myself that too.
Alright I don't know how to end it but that's that my convuluted, short family drama with no clear or concise end. Thank you for letting me get this out.

I had a client choose a 4x4 yellow ceramic tile for her shower surround. She speeds into my parking lot, runs into my office absolutely hysterical that my installers had put up the completely wrong tile. I am pretty concerned and reach out to the contractor by phone. Maybe they picked up the wrong tile and didn’t verify it with the written order.
She says that they installed a 1x1 grey tile instead of the 4x4 yellow. The contractor answered the phone and says he’ll send me a picture of the partially finished shower. I open the picture and by this time the client is back behind the counter breathing down my neck.
The picture shows a shower surround with 4x4 yellow tile. Because the job’s not complete you can still see the hardi-backer board that hadn’t been troweled with thinset yet. It has graph lines on it and she thought that that was the tile.
Not only that, she was basing her insanity off of how it looked before she left for work that morning. She didn’t come in my shop until 3 in the afternoon. So I asked her why she waited so long to bring it to our attention. She mumbled some nonsensical BS to me and huffed her way out of the shop.
To this day, myself and her contractor think she waited so long so that she could somehow get the whole job done for free. I laughed my butt off after she left.
Another client called me screaming about how the installers put in blue carpet when she ordered something else. He thought that the upgraded carpet pad , which was blue, was the carpet.
How do these people put their shoes on the right foot??
