Hello.
My wife and I live on the 3rd floor of our apartment building. There are only 3 floors.
Our neighbor directly below us is a young couple and a child that looks to be about 3 or 4 years old.
Ever since we lived here (seven months now) the child has hollered off and on all day. We’ve never made an issue of it because I can only imagine it’s just as frustrating for the parents, and also it would stop around 10 - 11pm so it didn’t affect sleep. Plus, it’s an apartment. It kind of comes with the territory.
Well, the last few weeks at least 4 days a week it has been hours of just banging down there. Enough that it shakes our floor and we can feel it through our bed. We’ve put our ears to the floor to confirm it sounds like the child just rampaging through their unit.
This routinely goes on until midnight or 1am. I leave for work at 5am. It’s brutal. I’ve tried earbuds and headphones but I can still feel the vibrations of all the thudding which keeps me up.
I have no earthly idea how the neighbor below them bears it.
Whats more is one or both of the parents also spend a lot of time on their balcony on the phone near yelling into it also into the wee hours of the morning. Not out of anger, just a naturally very loud way of talking. The household in general just seems a bit chaotic.
Basically, I’m not sure what to do. My wife and I are both exhausted. I’ve never been one to make a fuss about things and have never so much as left a note on a neighbors door.
Anyone have any advice?

At 6:10p tonight I saw two men angle grinding a bike lock that was locking a white Canondale bike to the bike rack on Valencia St. (between 18th and 17th). I asked the person grinding "did you forget your key?" knowing full well he was stealing it. He said "ya I forgot it." I immediately started calling 911 but cause I have T-mobile my call didn't go through (their coverage sucks ass).
10 seconds later they had the lock cut and they got away.
I wish I had done more. I was making excuses at the time that I didn't want to make a scene in front of my girlfriend (who was with me), but I feel really bad about it now. From the time I saw them to the time they were gone was prob about 30 seconds total.
I was able to call 911 using my gf's phone right after and give the police a description of the two people and where it was, but realistically that "investigation" will be immediately closed.
If you had your bike stolen tonight, I'm sorry.

I'm an 18 year, 25+ playthrough veteran of Okami, and I don't know about y'all, but I've always desperately wished that NG+ allowed us to keep the tier 5 weapons and the water tablet. How very cruel that we only have them for such a short amount of time! So as a now-adult with an emulator, I put together a file containing a bunch of Action Replay codes that allow my inner child to live out their water-walking, Shiranui-marking'd, perma-Solar Flare-bearing dreams (and maybe someday we'll get a True Shiranui mod for Steam - then my life will really be complete :D). Since so many people are replaying Okami in the wake of the sequel announcement, I thought I'd celebrate too by sharing my cheats file in case anyone out there might enjoy!
Notable cheats include:
From the start of any NG file... - All weapons (including tier 5s) - All key items (i.e. water tablet) - All brush techs (except Sunrise, which is locked to the story) - All dojo techs (i.e. double jump. Game save + emulator restart is required to activate this one, for some reason) - All karmic transformers (99 of each, in fact!)
Additional goodies: - Infinite solar energy, ink, and godhood - Ability to skip (most) cutscenes in NG - Ability to use the same weapon in both main and sub slots at the same time - Auto-completion of some collections (i.e. travel guide, fish tome, bestiary) - Insta-toggle moonjump (when turned on, Ammy will land in the air after jumping as if it's solid ground. Best used with no-clip turned on, otherwise you occasionally smack into invisible walls. Infinitely repeatable - explore literally anywhere! R2+Up=On, R2+Right=Off) - Insta-toggle no-clip mode (when turned on, allows Ammy to walk through walls, doors, or anything else you want. Best used with moonjump turned on, otherwise you fall through the floor. Experiment with sequence-breaking! R2+Down=On, R2+Left=Off)
Open the attached file with a text editor (e.g. Textpad on Windows, TextEdit on Mac) to see what's included. Change each entry to "patch=0" or "patch=1" to customize what is and isn't applied. Be aware that some (maybe even most) codes are permanent for the rest of the save file once turned on, even if you turn them back off! I recommend creating a throwaway save file or two to play around with before starting a save for real. I also included some notes inside the file on which cheats cause problems while playing through the game, and when you can expect those problems to occur. I'm very sorry if you run into any game-breaking issues that I missed! Please consider letting me know if that happens so I can update this post.
Windows: Drag the cheats file you downloaded into Documents > [emulator] > Cheats
Mac: Drag the cheats file you downloaded into Application Support > [emulator] > Cheats
IMPORTANT: - Ensure "enable cheats" is turned on inside your emulator's settings. - The name of the cheats file MUST match the CRC number of your copy of Okami. To get your copy's CRC number, boot up Okami in your emulator, then find and open the game properties inside your emulator settings. Make sure the number listed for "CRC" matches the cheats file name (currently/most likely 21068223). If they don't match, rename the cheats file to whatever your emulator says (if there's a "0x" at the beginning of the number, don't include that). Make sure your cheats file extension remains .pnach - don't accidentally save it as .txt or .rtf! - For both Windows and Mac, the cheats folder name should simply be "cheats", not cheats_ni or cheats_ws or similar. Also, it should already be present - if you have to create one, you're in the wrong place!
If everything works properly, you should get a popup in the corner of your screen when loading the game. It should look something like this, but the exact number will vary depending on how many cheats you enabled.

I can pass as pretty normal. I usually isolate myself when symptoms are bad. If I don't bring up my brain stuff, people would not ask and not know. But I struggle when it comes up in social situations.
Sometimes I can't follow a story, not because I don't understand it but because my short-term memory isn't always reliable. Same with long-term. So I'll forget something that happened, it gets referenced in convo, and I come off as super spacey or like I don't care about the person and the things we've done together. Or I forget words. Or tasks. Or what I'm doing.
I think it's hard for people to understand because I come off as someone who understands complicated/abstract concepts well, but I struggle to take in visual info or sometimes even form a sentence.
I try to detach from what other people think of me. But sometimes it matters. Especially if I care about a person and don't want them to feel confused or hurt.
I struggle also with explaining my condition concisely & clearly & accurately. I tend to downplay it or go into way too much detail because I don't want to mislead people. It's complicated to explain because I didn't really get a formal diagnosis.
Do you tell everyone you meet about your condition? How do you navigate awkward moments with people who don't know why you're acting weird? Do you tell your employers?

Anyone else get a wave of odd side effects anywhere from 5-10 minutes after taking a serving? I’ve noticed if I eat something about 10 minutes after that I get a major tingly sensation in my face and arms, my breathing becomes heavy and my throat feels tight. This effect comes and goes but was curious if anyone else has experienced this. I take this by itself before bed time so I can rule out any of my other supplements I take daily.

im taking phys 435 w eckstein rn and i honestly struggled a lot w phys 211, 212, (C+ in both), and relied heavily on chat for phys 225 and 325, so im wondering if I should even consider trying 435. eckstein is a good lecturer, but i feel like bc i wasnt so good in 211/ e&m the effort it would take to catch up to try and do well is just too much. im taking 6 courses this sem and want to know if it would be too hard/time consuming to try and do well in 435. anyone also taken this, or even know if there is a way i can 'skate' thru enough just to pass ?
