2025.01.31 03:12 poopingnut Academic Comeback in Polytechnic
Anyone has made any academic comeback after having a GPA of <2.5 from Y1 onwards. Slacked in Y1. Currently in Y2S1 but my GPA is slightly lower than 2.5 GPA. Hoping to reach 3 by the end of Poly life to be able to go schools like SIT but I genuinely don't know if it is possible. Schools been going great this semester though, group projects and msts both performed well so far.
So I'm hoping anyone here got any academic comeback story that they would like to share. Also, please be nice thanks!

Today I was confronted by my counselor he told me to never be rude to anyone in the office again.. i was co fused and he said I was rude to the psychiatrist staff.. ( all in the same building)
An appointment for the psychiatrist who controls the medications had been scheduled for Me by him and one of the receptionists called and gave me a wrong appointment time.
Whenever i showed up They told me that I was late and refused to see me and I call him I told them I would not leave until a supervisor someone came to see me and eventually The psychiatrist aw mebwith no issues..
Should I just quit counseling? I'll never get in aith the waiting list and now he thinks I'm rude..

2025.01.31 03:12 April_None8287 Leaving cushy corporate development / finance role for more money?
I did MM IB M&A for 2 years, got burned out, and am now making ~180k TC at a non-finance company doing corporate development and strategic finance
The job is hybrid and is realistically like 10-40 hours a week with low stress, but the progression is pretty slow and I can expect like a 4% increase a year
I got an interview for a well respect PE firm that will probably take my TC closer to 300k+ with faster progression, but I really don't know if leaving an easy job is a stupid idea. I know how demanding "high finance" jobs are, and although the pay is much better, I don't know if 120k more at this earning level hits diminishing returns. I'm somewhat bored at my current job, but I was planning on scaling my side investments to generate more income (rental properties, some public equities and private credit) on my free time. Any burned out PE associates here that can steer me away from going back on the hamster wheel?
