I’m currently in grade 8 and only have 120 volunteer hours at my local soup kitchen. I currently have a 93 average but currently being held back by art class (90 in that class). I only know 4 coding languages so far and have only attended 2 hackathons. Should I just give on my dream?

2025.01.31 03:00 iluvseahorses Messed up with the teacher I want a letter of rec from. Please help I don’t know what to do
I’ve been planning to get a letter of rec from my math teacher for awhile. I bought him a birthday gift, I would go to extra help almost everyday to the point that we started talking about our lives outside of school as if we were friends especially because the age gap isn’t that huge. I don’t think I did anything wrong but now they are super rude like almost as if they are making fun of me? And not in a friend way either I catch strays DAILY and I don’t know how to keep up with this disrespect. Like if I told the board he could probably get in a bit trouble especially since he has no tenure. I haven’t changed my mindset in this class & if anything i’ve been working harder because i’m so bad at math and I wanna do good but I just don’t know what happened. And actually, this teacher was very nice and considerate to me before something switched in his mind so I really have no idea. I don’t even wanna think of asking for a letter of recommendation in the spring because he would absolutely decimate me and probs humiliate me that’s how bad the rivalry is.
side note: This teacher is one of my few options since I dont have strong relationships with a lot of my teachers and I used to have a good one with this teacher until he switched up so not sure what to do

I've been contemplating on writing a fanfiction, however, there had been an uncertainty of deciding on surroundings where the characters would be introduced in. I've already established 3 fictional premises that'll be introduced in the fanfiction, the thought only recently introduced whilst procrastinating.
QUESTION: would it still be appropriate to set it in an already existing location in the world? EG; an fictional school situated in London, England.
I've seen others done it, but does it cause any perturbance to the reader themselves? I'm pensive if such circumstance would be complicatedly inconvenient or vice versa for the reader's comfort.

 | Hello! Last year I started my first wildflower patch. I tilled the area, burned the ground to kill the remaining weeds and tossed my seeds, the short version lol Things went okay but i definitely learned a lot to apply for this year. The one thing I’m stuck on, is what to do about the weeds and grass that fought/trying to make its way back? I gave it a good trim with the weed wacker once everything died down, unfortunately we had a horrible storm there wasn’t much, the photo is between storm clean up & before things turned brown for winter. It’s currently very brown, covered in leafs and the dead grass/weeds, a habitat for bugs n critters to winter in. But spring is coming and I want to be prepared to get things growin! I don’t want to use chemicals, I’m scared to burn it again since I have some flowers that should be coming up again or for the first time this spring. Everything I’ve read online says pull them by hand but I’m hoping someone will have a suggestion for me to make it a wee bit easier. Or any tips and tricks to help things thrive in general!
