We are all here because of our love for the Confederate beating, General William Tecumseh Sherman. Of course, how could we not?
However, there’s been a number of recent posts that make me think/realize that for many of you, your knowledge or care of Sherman starts with the Civil War, and ends there.
These posts make a nod to more contemporary history, claiming Sherman would’ve been on a specific side. It completely ignores the fact that Sherman would have been happy had the war ended with a peace that left slavery to exist in the US, and then proceeded to oversee the Plains Indian Wars in the succeeding years.
So, no… Sherman, for all the good and bada** stuff he did in the ACW, he would not have been on the side of what you think he would’ve been.

There are so many gates that lead to hell but only one that leads to heaven. Oppression does not just come suddenly upon a man. It comes through many things that we do and take for granted. Consider that God made sure those who are righteous are protected from oppression.
Read here; Isaiah 54:14 “In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.”
If you live a life of sin or have not repented from the sinful ways of your forefathers, you shall suffer oppression. Hate evil, shun sin and be freed from forms of oppression.
Read here; Isaiah 33:14-15 KJV “The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil.”
I ask you today if you are making it in life though faithfulness to God or you are living in sin? Taking bribes, going to consult witchdoctors when you say you are saved.
The devil will use any door he can find to oppress you. The devil can give you money but no wealth, he can give you a wife/ husband but no marriage, he can give you fame but no peace of mind. This is oppression. Free yourself from it through prayer and righteousness.

I want to know what I need to download in terms of monitoring everything, msi afterburner or what-not, useful apps, a good stress tester, what updates I need, I don't know what all I need to be able to make sure everything is good to go. Any suggestions would be more than helpful.

hello I'm a current undergraduate student looking to do a masters in Japan in Japanese and I just failed N1 for the second time. honestly it's heart breaking. for background to this I passed N2 with a very high score around 3 years ago and have lived in Japan for one year since then as well (I currently live abroad now however) and my hobby and my passion is Japanese literature particularly classical literature so anything written in the 平安時代 as well as 近代文学 like 夏目漱石、谷崎潤一郎、芥川龍之介賞 etc. I study extremely hard as well every day consistently especially when going for JLPT. I go through all the source material books try to remember the vocab and the grammar to the best of my ability and I can reasonably say that my Japanese is good enough to pass the test. Whether it be uni work or when I take a practice test I pass. but not just pass, pass convincingly. Moreover although not being from a background where I was brought up with 漢字 I have a great passion for it as one of my goals is to some day (a very long time into the future) is to pass 漢検1級. yet I found although it's only been twice, every time I take N1 I fail. by no means am I failing by huge margins but I just feel so defeated by it. If I didn't need N1 for my masters application which I want to do so so badly as well as social pressures such as everyone around me goes if anyone can do it you can I wouldn't take it. even my teachers are like I'll help you with the application because you'll breeze through N1 and I just don't know how to feel. I'm just so disappointed, so tired but I love Japanese so much. final anecdote I'll add that I am very very bad at test taking, to the point where this time I looked up test techniques but even those kinda didn't work. also I have very severe anxiety so test taking and waiting for the test results (that month) is like torture. I'm trying really hard to find a positive mindset and try and fix something that's probably just evidently wrong but it's like I just don't want to take the test again it's so restricting to my Japanese but at the same time I want to go and do a masters so so much. if anyone has some tips for me it would be most definitely appreciated. I would apply for the next round but that'll make it 3 in a row with I don't know if I can handle mentally.

how does 'finders keepers' work in the legal system? does it exist in international law could i use it as a defense if i was brought to court if i tried to keep something i have found?
the situation was over the last 2 or 3 months i had seen these things flaoting around the shores and one finally washed up on the beach. i tried looking for an owner at the time but it was completely abandoned. i waited around 2 hours and no one had come looking for it so i decided to take it home with me for safekeeping.
from my research i was able to find out it is frankstar that creates the buoy i have here. after that i was looking through there linkedin and found out they also sell there stuff for free to research universities to use. so it probably wouldnt be frankstar but a university or something trying ot take it from me. im still going to keep doing my research project and probably open it to find even more informaiton. someone told me it should only take a 5 or 6 mm hex key.
ive kept the object at home since then and nobody has contacted me to try to claim it. does that mean its legally mine now espeically as i found it on a public beach?
ive been watching lots of videos on treasure hunters and they seem to be able to keep buried treasure when they find it. also one of my friends found a ring a couple months ago when using a metal detector and he just took it home with him and later sold it. so does the same apply with me and my object?
i dont want to put it back if i can im worried someone else might steal it make a lot of money receive an award or even people have been saying put it back in the water and majbe injure someone.
is there a legal way to register this so its now officially mine? or do i not need to do that?
it reminds me of someone dropping a lottery ticket on the ground because they thought it was a waste of time or even on accident then someone else finding it and discovering its actually the million dollar ticket they wouldnt have to return it to the person who lost it right?
basically can i claim 'finders keepers' on an abandoned object i find on the beach in a court?
