2025.01.31 04:58 ACURAte_tiTLe Low compression on rebuilt motor?
Was a bit surprised to see these compression numbers on my RX-8… These are normalized values on a hot engine. Bought this RX-8 as a weekend car a couple years ago with a rebuilt engine (without a compression test unfortunately). Engine has ~8k miles on it. It was a complete rebuild done by rotary shop with full paperwork including new rotor housings, seals, bearings, and street port. Engine starts perfectly fine hot and cold and that’s with a starter that barely manages 200 cranking rpm. But I’m not sure whether this engine has plenty of life left or if within a year or two I’m going to start having issues. What do you guys think? submitted by ACURAte_tiTLe to RX8 [link] [comments] |

2025.01.31 04:58 Lilac098 I need more people to talk to about Octopath Traveler 2
I played it last summer and still can't stop thinking about it. Tragically not everyone in the world has played it, so no one I've mentioned it to has ever heard of it. Hopefully I can find some people here to discuss it with, though.
Here are some of my thoughts to get the conversation started:
I love the optimism in this game. No matter how dire their situation, no one gives up. They always keep trying until they meet their goal. I think that's a great message, especially given how much pessimism there is in the world in general.
I also love the characters. They're all different people with unique voices and personalities (which is even more obvious with the terrible translation of the Solistia content in COTC making everyone sound like a linguistically challenged child). All of them are easy to like and root for, and no one is annoying and makes me wish they weren't in the game cough Makoto from Persona 5 cough. And as for the stories, all of them are good on their own, but the epilogue, with everyone coming together to face a greater evil, elevates it to the next level. The travelers really feel like a found fanily at this point, and it's heartwarming to realize that despite everything that's happened, they still have each other.
Since I love the characters, I also love shipping them with each other. However, I don't like the most popular ships, especially the Temenos and Crick one. I love their dynamic, but I just don't see anything romantic in it. Especially since Temenos views Crick as beneath him in that he think of him as naïve and idealistic. I much prefer pairing Temenos and Hikari since they don't have that problem, and they could also bond over their experiences with loss and betrayal.
The music is great too. There's not a track I don't love. Combined with the beautiful pixel art, it makes me never want to leave the game.
There's more I could say, but I'll end this here for now. Leave a comment or send a message if you have any thoughts or want to talk more.

2025.01.31 04:58 inj3ct0rdi3 How do you prevent bleeding like this when you are masking?
Hey guys, so I'm new to painting and I'm limited to hand brushing and markers at the moment. This gold is a marker. I messed up the paint job on the first one doing this so now I'm trying to figure this out on the one I haven't started painting yet. I've tried regular green making tape, clear tape, and getting the masking tape pressed into the grooves as best I can. Anybody got any advice? What an I missing here? Is this something I'm only going to be able to do with an airbrush? submitted by inj3ct0rdi3 to Gunpla [link] [comments] |

2025.01.31 04:58 JamminBabyLu The ultimate form of currency is information
Ultimately, information is the fundamental substance of reality, with mass and energy being expressions of information patterns. If you possess the technology to manipulate information at will, then the amount of information you can process and control determines the material and energetic transformations you can enact. This suggests that the ultimate currency is information, measured in bits.
If you disagree that information is the ultimate form of currency, why? If you agree, do you also agree that labor power—being the processing and transfer of information over time—is also a form of currency?
Given the above scenario, where everyone has access to a device capable of producing any desired outcome by precisely manipulating information, such that production for exchange is replaced with production for use, and currency is applied rather than exchanged, are the following arguments valid? 1. To produce any physical object, a specific amount of information must be processed. 2. That amount of information represents the cost to produce the object. 3. Every physical object has such an informational cost. 4. All physical objects are therefore priced in units of information (bits). 5. Since everything is priced in bits, information is the currency.
If you agree, do you also agree that labor power—being the processing and application of information over time—is also a form of currency?

2025.01.31 04:58 jubileo5 Selling My Business - Brokers Charging 65% Of Sale Price
Hey all!
So I'm looking to wind down a ecommerce business focused on photography that I haven't had the time for the last 2 years, and I've reached out to a few major brokers and 2 valued the business (generates around $35-40k profit yearly) at around $40-60k just because they stated ecommerce is harder to sell and that it is a niche so finding buyers would be tougher. 2 other brokers said no as they only want to work with businesses making $150k+ in profit.
Broker A has offered a target sales price of $40k but will insist on $2,000 initial fee and if it sells, they charge a 7.7% commission rate on sale but with a minimum of $23k fee. So if I sell for $40k, I'll end up with 15k.
Broker B has offered a target sales price of $60-80k but sounded less convincing and asked less question about the business. He insists on $4,000 initial fee and if it sells, they charge also 7.7% commission rate but with a minimum of $21k fee.
I was wondering this fee/cost and return is pretty standard? Another option would be try list it on SeekBusinesses and Gumtree etc, but I have no clue about the documentation and process of selling and transferring a business.

2025.01.31 04:58 No-Consideration3053 How would have "Hugo" be viewed as Best picture winner? (2011)
Hugo was realesed on November 11th of 2011 at New york film festival and later worldwide at November 23th under the distrubition of Paramount pictures. It was directed and co-produced by the well know director Martin Scorsese and based on the book "the invention of hugo cabret" by Brian Selznick and starring Ben Kingsley, Sacha baron cohen, Asa butterfield, Chloe graze moretz and Emily Mortimer. Despite bombing at the box office grossing only 185m worldwide against a budget of 170m, it managed to receive critical acclaim from critics and audiences for its direction, visuals effects, cinematography, art direction and score and was nominated for 11 oscars at 84rd academy awards for Best picture, Best director, Best cinematography(won), best sound editing and mixing(won both), Best costumes, Best adapted screenplay, Best art direction(won), Best original score, best film editing and best visuals effects(won).
Despite being Martin Scorsese's highest nominated film getting more oscar nominations than killers of flower moon, the Irishman and Gangs of new york. Hugo isn't as one of his best films and in the best day it's consider as good film. Is generally seen as one if the better nominated films that year so i think it would been probably seen as better choice as that of that year's winner

2025.01.31 04:58 lil_mccaff Is this a real LH surge?
Inito confirmed my LH surge on cycle day 11 yesterday with only 1.72ml LH… this is multiple days earlier than expected and WAY lower than my previous cycles (17.69ml on CD 18 and 38.04ml on CD 15). I’ve attached screenshots of my current cycle (19 Jan- 16 Feb) and my 2 cycles before. I understand that the algorithm will call this a spike since it’s over my baseline of under 1ml, but I’m curious if anyone else sees “spikes” this tiny and if they’ve had pregnancies result from it! I also haven’t seen e3g go up yet this cycle, so it’s making me think this is a fluke… I have PCOS and have been TTC for 6 months, so would love any insight you might have! Thanks xx submitted by lil_mccaff to Inito [link] [comments] |
2025.01.31 04:58 TripleChains Inspired by the PACT Act, I submitted claims to the VA in September 2024 and received a 50% disability rating as of today. The body of this post will give details of my journey.
Hi,
I read something recently here that says you should give back to this community for any and all help you've received. So I want to do that. I will try to be concise as possible because I often felt overwhelmed with information but my path to the news I received today was rather straight forward.
Preamble
- I signed up for the US Army my senior year of high school late 2001. Went to basic in summer 2002 as a 31R at Fort Benning followed by AIT at Fort Gordon.
- I was then stationed Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Arriving there sometime in January 2003.
- By March 2003, I was on my way to Kuwait to await the upcoming war. Spent a year travelling through Iraq. spending most of my days in Mosul. This experience had its ups and downs, but I think I was numb to most of it.
- I went back to Iraq in SeptembeOctober 2005 for another year tour. Although I was a "fobbit" for most of this, I somehow felt less safe and became more paranoid and had a very hard time. I was convinced bad things might happen, especially since I was due to get out in July 2006 but was stop lossed until the deployment completed. I'm saying this in case others felt these things which led to my discussion later with a psychologist that I spoke to because of my claim you will soon read about.
VA Claim Process
I tried to submit a PTSD claim sometime in 2009. That was quickly denied and I never really thought to fight back on it. I was young and just trying to get things together career wise and never really thought much of it.
Last summer, I heard about the PACT Act and that part of the focus on this was "burn pits" and that symptoms from being exposed to these burn pits were being considered more appropriately. The PACT Act covers people who were deployed to several countries during the ~1990's-2000's and exposed to all kinds of terrible things that were being burned. I very much remembering burning human excrement and also just generally always smelling something that I hope I never smell again in my life. I know I would recognize that smell if it happened to come across me today.
I then looked into what types of conditions might be considered tied to burn pit exposure. I must admit I got a bit lazy here while writing this post as I can't find the article, but I just now asked ChatGPT what those symptoms are, so please caution that there might be errors on this, but here is what those results are:

2025.01.31 04:58 Laiba_younas Account creator
I’m looking for someone in the U.S. who can help me set up accounts on different freelancing platforms using their details.
You’ll only need to create the accounts once, and after that, I’ll take care of everything.
In return, I’ll give you a 30% commission on my earnings. That means you can make around $3,000–$4,000 per month without any ongoing effort.

2025.01.31 04:58 Scared_Performer6309 Need opinions on this Impreza.
Just got the opportunity to buy this 2008 Impreza hatch for $600 from a friend of a friend. He said there's a coolant leak so my biggest concern is that it's the head gasket that's gonna need to be replaced. It would be my first car and I don't have a large budget due to being a university student. Anyone with more Subaru knowledge want to give me any advice on if I should pull the trigger on it.
PS: 370 km is roughly 230k miles
