Hello everyone,
I've been unemployed for six months now after leaving my dev job, where I worked on an ERP for two years related to schools and education. The ERP was built in 2004 and has been continuously maintained and expanded to this day. I was responsible for adding new features, writing unit tests, and working in a team of four or five developers, with experts and mentors available for guidance.
After sending 300–400 resumes, I think I'm close to landing a job. This company has a very small IT department—just one person, the IT director. During my first interview with him, I learned that he needs someone to build an ERP from scratch. From what I understood, he currently relies only on Access VBA to organize the business.
I told him that this seems like an exciting challenge, but in my mind, it feels nearly impossible. What do you guys think? From what I've read, building an ERP typically requires at least 3–4 people, some of whom should already have experience developing ERP systems from scratch. I’ve also read that there are alternatives to building one from scratch, like Oracle NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
I really need a job at this point. How should I approach my second interview to show that I'm ready for the challenge, while also making him aware that what he wants may be unrealistic and that there are alternative solutions?

Hello everyone! Fellow snarkemod here lol. I would like to take this time to remind all of our new and tenured members of pinuppixiesnark that we have an official discord page.
The mods have come together after reading through all of the recent posts, and have decided to make the snark discord a spot for SERIOUS snark/discourse only.
The pinuppixiesnark page started out as a place to genuinely call out Bianca Buchan on all of her harmful lies and acts, her way of skewing the truth to garner sympathy, her horrible treatment of family, friends, and acquaintances, etc (things of that nature).
Since the pages creation, we have grown EXPONENTIALLY. And though we feel as though this page does stay on track with calling her out on ALL of that, we have since seen an increase in troll posts or “silly snark” posts.
To be clear, we do welcome all snark no matter how silly or petty it may be on the Reddit page. We of course ALWAYS ask you to follow the rules the Mods have set in place, and to treat others with kindness and respect.

My (28M) ex gf (26 F) broke up with me before New Years Eve. We were dating for 1.5 years. This was my first relationship. A friend recommended to post it on here to gain perspective from you guys on reddit.
I first moved from California to DC for a new job in 2023. I met her on Coffee Meets Bagel. We met on the first date. Clicked really well. Asked her if she wanted to be official on the 3rd date and she said yes. I really missed home at that time I thought I would be moving back home after maybe 2-3 years here. I didn't want hurt her so I tried breaking up with her during the 4th date, but I felt terrible and I really liked her and missed her. So the following day I apologized to her and asked her if she wanted to do short-term and told her how much I missed California. She said yes, but I felt guilty for doing that to her.
Over the next couple months the relationship was going great. I fell in love with her and thought about settling with her in DC and didn't think about California at all. I changed my mind and wanted to do long term with her. During the beginning and middle of 2024 she brought up if we could break up. I didn't want to and asked her for more time and a chance to show her we can make this work. She would agree and gave me a chance. Throughout the year she lost her intimacy for me. Around that time I would say "I love you" but she would never say that back. But if I say "I miss you" then she would say that back.
At first I thought things were going great the past couple of months. I asked her if she was happy and she said yes at those times. However, she called me last week and wanted to break up. Caught me off guard. I met up with her in-person last Saturday to give her stuff back. She told me the reasons why she broke up with me:
- She feels like the relationship is too comfortable and complacent (stagnating)
- We don't challenge each other enough for personal growth
- Told me she hasn't loved me back at all yet she still treasures our memories and has no regrets
- We had some rough patches, but we got through them this past year. Some of my words would trigger her and I would have to apologize alot...
- She doesn't like how my work (engineering) is lax how I barely do any work and have lots of free time
- She pointed it out she wanted somebody who can hustle and have an impact on society like a doctor (helping people)
- She wakes up super early in the morning like 6-7am and waits for me to wake up 10am to 11am
- She said we have different values and life goals.
- She's not really an intimate person but I was willing to not be intimate with her.
- She doesn't like how I drink soda and play video games
- Our dates have been just the 2 of us. We haven't really found a group to hang with and she felt stuck in this relationship.
- I haven't been the best planner. We were running out of stuff to do. I couldn't find new places to explore and eat. She probably planned 75% of the dates.
- She was telling me this was all in the back of her mind accumulating up to this point.
I'm really sad right now. I regret so much of what I said to her. I wish I could just go back in time and just say the right stuff so she wouldn't leave me. I'm just grieving just looking at our photos together and our old texts right now.
Do you guys think the relationship was done since the start?

Hello, It’s been almost a year, have you done any self reflection yet? Have you learned what love and a healthy relationship require? Did you figure out why our relationship felt different yet? Why you didn’t feel jealous (extremely or otherwise) or clingy like you did in your past relationship? Have you figured out what you need/ want in a relationship yet? Did you figure out that the issues between us were opportunities for growth, which is why they were so hard and not something you wanted to just do for me; since at the end of the day they were never changes for me but for yourself?
PS- I just wish you gave me some feedback about areas where I could grow before deciding unilaterally to end things between us. I went through our conversations and never once did you ever bring up any time I unintentionally hurt your feelings, except when I set boundaries around my time because I expressed how I was tired of getting hurt.
