Hi yall, I’m a single mom 31 and I have 2 young kids and I’m wondering which area is best to live in. NGL I’m kinda bougie about like having a nice place and also very afraid of getting robbed or my kids not being safe playing outside. I don’t mind commuting to work for an hour. I will be working at Oakland airport/nearby. But I’m comfortable commuting from even as far as Santa Cruz.
Taking recommendations for nice apartments/homes/ areas. Or areas to stay away from etc. thank you in advance.
I’m moving from a super safe city in Florida so I’m kind of scared because of the things I see on the news of people breaking into cars and what not 😭

Is it true that 30,or 40 years ago, it was possible for someone to bribe a DMV worker to change the birthdate on their license? I know a guy who has two driver's licenses (one with a birthdate from the 90's and another from the 70's). He claimed to have done this when he was younger and trying to sneak into bars. Was this even possible back then? And if so, how common or easy would this have been? Or is it more likely that this person is exaggerating and this is a fake. Is it possible to have two different ages in the system?

Hello! I’m about 7.5 months pregnant and have been put on leave from my full time job as a nurse last month due to severe sciatica. My full time position was a lot of pressure physically and mentally (Nurse). I’m currently on FMLA and technically will have to go back to work in may (17.5 weeks total). I’m still working my home health per diem job and am wondering if I can take fmla with them as well a few weeks before my due date? How does that work? What if I chose not to go back to my full time job at hospital and just take my leave with my per diem job and collect edd? I know I qualify for fmla with my per diem job because I have been there over a year. I just don’t know how this would work? Help !

 | Finally got to watch this incredible gritty Neo-Noirish crime film and was absolutely blown away by Bob Hoskins’ performance. His character’s unraveling while at the same time building suspense as the plot against him goes deeper really pulls you in and it’s rare to see a crime film where a criminal character starts to get to you where you feel a kind of sympathy for his life coming apart and I think that has mostly to do with Hoskins and how effective he is in this very unique Crime film. No matter what i do no one wants to be friends with me. Everyone says just start a conversation or find someone with the same interests but then what?
It always goes the same way, i try to talk to someone and they engage in conversation awkwardly and then just stop talking to me. This happens every single time so it’s clearly something i’m doing. I’m not a mean person. I can carry a conversation. I’m exactly like the person i’m taking to in terms of social skill but no matter what i do no one likes me. I’ve only had 2 “friends” before and they were only friends with me because they felt bad that i had no friends
I don’t know what i’m doing wrong. I feel so alone because i have no friends and no one ever wants to talk to me. I act like everyone else around me and i still end up alone while they have friends. It seems like everyone hates me but im exactly like them i just don’t understand why
I genuinely don’t know how to make friends and it’s getting really tiring being alone constantly and i just don’t know what to do anymore. It’s been like this for years and i can’t do this for the rest of my life

- Exploring different solutions (instead of just mimicking text)
- Trial and error learning (like humans do)
Instead of being a one-trick AI, these new models are multi-point RL that can generalize across different hard problems (math, programming, science).
Applying RL to multiple different types of problems (math, coding, science, strategic reasoning) is difficult. This is the multi-point RL problem:
- How do you design reward functions for different reasoning tasks?
- How do you balance learning across multiple domains?
- How do you transfer knowledge between different types of problems?

Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) What makes the GRPO approach special is that it’s more efficient than traditional methods because it doesn’t need a separate “critic” model that evaluates how well the AI is doing. Instead, it compares the performance of a group of answers to determine what’s working better.
For the training process, they use two main types of rewards to guide the AI’s learning. First, they have accuracy rewards, which simply check if the answer is correct (like checking if a math problem’s solution is right). Second, they have format rewards, which ensure the AI presents its thinking process in a structured way using specific tags. They deliberately chose not to use more complex neural network-based rewards because these can sometimes lead to the AI finding ways to “cheat” the system rather than actually improving its reasoning.
The training setup is straightforward — they use a template that requires the AI (called DeepSeek-R1-Zero) to show its reasoning process first, then give its final answer. Importantly, they didn’t add any specific requirements about how the AI should think or solve problems. This was intentional, as they wanted to see how the AI would naturally develop its reasoning abilities through the reinforcement learning process.
This research is significant because it shows how AI systems might be able to develop reasoning capabilities more efficiently, without needing extensive pre-labeled training data. The approach is more scalable and potentially more natural than traditional supervised learning methods.

It’s my first time doing shrooms today and just took about a gram maybe even less just to test the waters a bit but only found out afterwards that apparently your tolerance to psylicibin builds really fast. I’m meant to also be doing them tmr with some friends but at a higher dosage, will me having taken them today mean I have to up the dosage for myself tmr as it would be my second day in a row? Was wondering if people who have done them consecutively for a few days could clarify if that rapid tolerance buildup is true or not :)
