2025.01.31 06:42 4n0nym0us_7 Makeup people who say “don’t blow on your brushes” when getting rid of excess product
I feel like they mostly mean don’t blow on the brush you’re using on someone else. But one of my favourite MUA’s posted a makeup tutorial blowing on her brushes (to get the excess product off) and all the comments were condemning her saying it’s “so gross” and “caused germs” and “spreads bacteria” and I just think everyone has lost the damn plot. How many of us have blown on our hot food and drinks??? Consumables!!! I hardly think blowing away some excess makeup is going to be worse than blowing on your food!!
I also could be really stupid and be missing something really obvious, this is entirely possible. I just haven’t got the brain cells left to figure it out. Please teach me. And have a good day x

2025.01.31 06:42 Pedal_up_hill I Just Found Out My Grandma Has a Secret Language… with Crows
So, I was visiting my grandma last weekend, and we were sitting on her porch when she suddenly lets out this weird, high-pitched whistle. I thought nothing of it—until, I kid you not, a crow swoops down and lands on the railing.
She then proceeds to have what I can only describe as a full conversation with this bird. Different whistles, little clicks, some weird humming noises. The crow bobs its head, caws back, and then drops a shiny bottle cap at her feet like a gift.
I’m just sitting there, mouth open, like “Grandma, WHAT was that??” And she just shrugs and goes, “Oh, that’s Edgar. He likes gossip.”
EXCUSE ME??
Apparently, she’s been “chatting” with the local crows for years. She claims they tell her neighborhood secrets, which sounds insane, but then she casually mentions that Mrs. Thompson down the road is having an affair with the mailman, and two days later, I overhear my mom talking about it on the phone.
My grandma is either a crow whisperer or a chaotic oracle, and I don’t know which one is more concerning.
Do I now need to start learning crow-speak?? Is this a thing??
EDIT: I just texted her asking how she learned this, and she replied, “The crows taught me.” What does that MEAN.

I know I’m good teacher, but I feel much more confident after consuming content posted by experienced teachers and parents when I have topics I’m curious about or need inspiration
I’m a visual learner and like videos by Play To learn Preschool on youtube and love informational videos about child behavior and other philosophies ect. and have listened to ECE nerd podcast and enjoyed it but found it a tiny bit hard to follow

2025.01.31 06:42 wubba5 Anyone know of a vacation rental (or collection of rentals) that is single-story, but large enough for 11 people?
My family is having a reunion in Reno later this year. It’ll be the first time we’ve been together since before COVID, and I would LOVE to have us all in a house together, or little cottages in close proximity together instead of a hotel because it’s a little nicer of an experience (hotels will just make us feel so separate).
But my mom and a couple aunts are handicapped (they use walkers), so a 2-story house won’t work.
I know this might not exist and we might have to just resort to a hotel, but wondering if anyone happens to know if there’s a rental house or something that would work for this use case? This might be one of the last time we all get together and I want it to be special!
