Hey all, I’ve been seeing a lot of misinformation regarding the temporary stay on the federal funding freeze here in the US.
There was no magic off switch for the countless streams of funding from the federal government to states and nonprofits across the country. This means that the work of “turning them all off” required a large amount of time and manpower- to stay on top of this, they started at 5am the business day prior to the official freeze.
Even though a judge temporarily stayed the funding freeze, those streams were halted and have to be manually, painstakingly, turned back on, and that hasn’t happened yet in many cases.
Source: I work for medicaid.
Please stop correcting people that their care/benefits/etc are not frozen when they are being advised by the organizations who administer them that they are inaccessible at this time. Unfortunately even a 24-48 hour delay could be one that is causing hunger, medical neglect, etc.

(I think i can prove 3 years of work experience, 31,5 years old, bsc+msc degree as mechanical engineer with hvac specialization, pte 50 (i know it counts zero), and single, offshore) I think i need maybe 3-4 months to get every documentation.
