Hello there! I'm going to just get straight to the point; I am looking to find and get married to my life partner.
As a 20 year old woman who has spent all my life single, I believe it's finally time (and somewhat overdue) that I enter a relationship. I'm struggling to bridge the gap from understanding into acceptance with a few things with my symptoms. I feel like with any mental illness there's a distinction with understanding symptoms and what needs to be done and actually accepting it- at least for me To be up front, I can't afford therapy and I'm still getting to my proper maintance dosage with Lamictal. My main issue is that I know i need to be alone. In my current state I'm still too unhealed from past relationship related trauma (just lingering insecurities from being cheated on, not feelings) and trying to figure myself out again at 28. I ultimately bring far more cons than pros to anything even remotely resembling a relationship to consider one right now. I'm neurotic, boring, paranoid, and i still often feel like im just observing myself say and do stupid shit with no proper control over my actions.
Still though, theres a small part of me that's so desperately lonely and craving attention that I know I dont wholeheartedly mean any of this. It's like I can't let go of a tiny shred of unwarranted optimism. My craving for intimacy and being cared about just overrides self awareness still. I've tried to put myself out there in the last year, but it just makes me worse.
Is there anything that helped you through something like this, or is it just another one of those things that comes with time?
