Hi all,
I've noticed most of my games are won by chem baron at the moment. Definitely not every time but I am becoming frustrated with the fact that the chem baron team hitting a perfected item seems to be an auto top 4 and a lot of times a 1st. It feels like if the chem baron player plays correctly, especially if they hit an early crest, they are very likely to do well and there isn't much the lobby can do. Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing this?
I am Emerald 1, so I'm a decent player but its possible chem baron isn't as strong in higher elo lobbies.

2025.02.01 18:51 ToughAsparagus7026 Just finished Dracula for the first time! (spoilers marked)
I loved it! I was not expecting it to be, at its core, a story about friendship. And of course plenty of super spooky parts that genuinely made my spine tingle - the first instance of that waswhen Jonathan is still at the castle and describes seeing Dracula crawl out of the window and down the facade. Chilling! It's also interesting to know that Stoker read Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu before writing Dracula. Carmilla is a more sinister and sensual story that leans into the seduction way harder (and of course is delightfully queer-coded) whereas Dracula feels like it was perhaps written with a more buttoned-up Christian audience in mind. (That would track for a French-Bohemian vs Victorian England sensibility.)
The only thing that annoyed me was that I found it unbelievable that NONE of the guys suspected Mina was falling under the influence of the vampires even though her experience was similar to Lucy's and they knew that Dracula was doing his thing right in their neighborhood... But it needed to happen to move the plot forward so I forgave it.
Anyway, highly recommend it and would love to hear other people's thoughts. Hope you're all doing well :)

This is going to come out as desperate, but it’s gotten to that point.
My partner is Australian, moved to HK but moving back because he wasn’t able to land a job, thinking he will have more luck in Australia being a national, but becauseit’s been months and he’s done everything he can, applying jobs every single day, to the point that there would be no jobs to apply for at some stage! He’s done all of the tailoring CV, getting it reviewed by a professional.
I on the other hand am a junior doctor and we’re doing long distance for 9 months. I can see the agony in him, he’s barely secured 2 interviews through LinkedIn, one which progressed till stage 4 and then rejected, which has taken a huge toll on his mental health.
Now it feels like he’s given up, it’s been 7 months he’s been applying, he’s so depressed that he is considering joining the army, which for me means we are breaking up, because I can’t wait 6 years I already feel I’m old and want to start a family. He doesn’t want to go ahead with this as well and it is his last option but day by day it sounds like that’s what’s left.
We have a beautiful relationship, and I am absolutely terrified of losing him. I know this sounds so stupid, but if anybody has any kind of connection, or know someone who’s looking into hiring, or just have any advice, would you please get in touch, I’d be forever grateful.
He’s literally up for anything, hadn’t been nitpicking when applying. He’s worked as a project manager for several companies and market research analyst, client programme specialist, client satisfaction
I think he is so smart, and he would be a GREAT asset to a company, he’s the hardest working man I know and I have admired how he has been getting through this for the past 7 months.
I’ve totally asked him to just come live with me but he feels he’ll be a leech and won’t agree to it.
I can’t believe I am making a post like this but that’s how desperate this whole thing feels like. I’m ready for all the hate comments this is going to get but also hopeful there will be a kind soul who has probably at some point been through this.

2025.02.01 18:51 squatsbreh Builds using shillelagh and/or truestrike
I feel like these spells, and their ease of access via origin feats, have opened up a whole world of martial and gish builds. I don’t know what my next character will be, but I know it will involve one or both of them. Here are some of my concepts, feel free to critique or add your own ideas.
Straight EK - INT. Magic initiate Druid for shillelagh, and magic stone if you want an easy ranged option. SAD. Stick and board. Should be good damage baseline. Dueling + scaling shillelagh damage, using booming blade or green flame blade 7+. Polearm master at some point in your career for BA and occasional reaction attacks.
Straight EK - WIS. Same build as above, but wisdom main stat. why? The saving throws and novelty. Would have to pick spells that don’t depend on your casting stat.
Straight EK - CHA. Again the same, but to do party face and social stuff well on a fighter.
TWF EK. Start with any of the above 3 builds, if you don’t go INT you will have to be human for magic initiate wizard for a CHA, or WIS truestrike. Club and scimitar. Shillelagh club. Nick gives you an extra attack. Replace your nick attack with truestrike, if your DM will allow this interaction.
Paladin 2, sorcerer X. Heavy armor, shield, defense fighting style. True strike front liner. Smites and shields galore. high AC. Sorcerer utility.
Celestial warlock 6, ???. Agonizing blast - truestrike lets you add CHA to a cantrip. Celestial 6 lets you add CHA to a radiant damage spell. Gives you weapon dice + cantrip scaling + 3x CHA mod on hit. Doesn’t really scale past that. Incomplete thought here but it’s kinda a cool start. Maybe rogue for scaling on a single attack? Maybe paladin for armor, bigger weapon, and smite?
Truestrike rogue. PYF subclass apart from soul knife. CHA based swashbuckler is super synergistic. INT based thief could be SILLY with fast hands and a campaign with lots of magic items. Rogue would ofcourse love some fighter levels, which is always a choice. You can dip a full caster with your primary stat for a ton of utility though. There’s too many options here to list.
CHA Shillelagh paladin. It’s straight classed paladin, which is always good. And it’s SAD. If you go devotion your chance to hit could be bonkers. Dex14 medium armor and a shield.
Front liner war cleric. Who needs cleric cantrips when we can WIS truestrike? Heavy armor and shield. Crossbow for ranged cantrip, pyf d8 weapon for melee cantrip. Concentration free shield of faith, concentrate on spirit guardians, truestrike bonk. Be a terror to be around with full cleric utility. Some extra truestrike damage scaling with divine strike.
CHA based battlemaster, with shillelagh. Be an old commander, coming out of retirement, that learned a bit of magic to be a competent fighter again. Pick maneuvers that support or at least ones that don’t have a save. Have insane persuasion and intimidation checks with commanding presence.
I’m sure there’s more.

Lehet hosszú lesz, muszáj kiírnom magamból, mert részletesen elmondani nem vagyok képes senkinek. A szüleim elváltak már rég, én 27 éves vagyok, és még anyukámmal élek, meg az egyik testvéremmel, aki mentálisan sérült. Amióta főiskolára jártam, mindig volt valami diákmunkám, 3 éve pedig rendes munkahelyem van.
Anyuval elég ingadozó volt mindig is a kapcsolatunk. Nem igazán tudja elfogadni, hogy én nem tudok (és nem is akarok) úgy gondolkodni, ahogyan ő vagy a másik testvérem, hogy olyan házias legyek, ne segítsen be a férfi, mindent is a nő csináljon... Mindig úgy éreztem, hogy különc vagyok közöttük. Előfordultak már nagyobb veszekedések, ahol mindig csak a saját igazát hajtotta, és azt, hogy őt értse meg mindenki... De ő egy másik szempontot, jobban mondva az enyémet nem tudta. Mindig azt hangoztatja, hogy nem érti más hogyan tud különbséget tenni a gyerekei között, miközben, ha nem is tudatosan, de ő is azt csinálja. Szinte semmit nem lehet vele megbeszélni, ami a lelki dolgokra utalna, mert rögtön az a válasz, hogy neki is gondjai vannak. Nem beszél róla, én pedig nem vagyok olyan, hogy megkérdezzem, mert ha nekem valami bajom van, akkor rögtön elmondom neki, mert úgy gondolom, hogy van olyan kapcsolat köztünk... És ezt nem érti meg.
Itt jönne az a rész, amiben a véleményeteket kérném -> Ugye 3 éve már rendesen dolgozom, így rendes bevételem is van, nem diákmunka pénz. Többször kérte, hogy vásároljak be, ami alapvetően nem lett volna gond, ha tényleg mindig a szükséges élelmiszereket vagy dolgokat vesszük. De helyette plusz olyan dolgokat is vett az én pénzemből, ami nem is a mi családunknak lett volna, és nagyon magára vette, hogy arra a pár dologra visszakértem volna a pénzt, amit nem haza vett, hanem másnak. Sokszor úgy érzem, mintha úgy gondolná, hogy az én fizetésem az ő pénzének a meghosszabbítása lenne. Mégcsak nem is felesben veszünk kellő dolgokat, pl. egyszer nekem kellett egy nem olyan olcsó mosógépet vennem, és bele sem szállt. Rám lett fogva, hogy miattam romlott el. Most pedig elég erőszakosan/rámenősen akarja elkérni az albérlet felét, ami nekem nem tetszik, amit el is mondtam neki. Olyan munkám van, ami miatt reggel 8-tól este 7-ig nem vagyok otthon az utazást is beleszámítva; főtt ételt heti 2x, ha eszek otthon, és legalább heti 3x a páromnál alszok... Szerintetek reális, ha a felét elkéri? Plusz, ha úgy van, vásároljak is be... Próbáltam már neki mondani, hogy valamivel kevesebbel beszállok, de hajthatatlan... Valami témát próbálok felhozni, amire fogjuk rá, hogy válaszol, de azután azonnal rögtön a pénzt hozza fel. Ha pedig visszavágok, jön a szokásos szöveg, hogy ő mennyi mindent megtett értünk, mennyit dolgozott miattunk, mindent a "szánkba adott", nem hagyott el minket a válásnál úgy, mint az apánk; semmiben sem segítek otthon (jó, lehet már keveset segítek a munka miatt is, de anno szinte én voltam otthon az anyuka). Másoknak annyira tudja mondani, mennyit segítettem, de ha nincs körülöttünk más, akkor ezt valahogy elfelejti.
Nálatok volt ilyen vagy hasonló? Ha igen, akkor hogyan éltétek meg, meg tudtátok beszélni ezt a szülőtökkel? Egyáltalán meg lehet valahogy ilyen dolgokat értetni vele? Hogy ne csak a saját szemszögét hajtsa, hanem próbálja megérteni a másikat? Teljesen úgy érzem, hogy apám eldobott minket, letagadott, nem is tartjuk a kapcsolatot, és anyámnak se lehetek soha elég jó... Amúgy is kényszeres gondolataim vannak, elég ha azokkal küzdök meg nap, mint nap, de elég sz*r érzés a tudat, hogy nem vagyok elég jó, és ez rátelepszik a kapcsolatomra is a párommal...
