Diagnosed Stage 3 Periodontal Disease

2025.02.01 19:51 ClumsyOx1974 Diagnosed Stage 3 Periodontal Disease

Diagnosed Stage 3 Periodontal Disease I have already been diagnosed with stage 3 periodontal disease so not asking for a diagnosis. What I am seeking is for someone to point out what I am looking to improve. I clearly have gum recession, but what else should I be monitoring as far as the appearance of my gum photos. I am not a smoke and never have been. I did have chemotherapy and immunotherapy for breast cancer 5 years ago. Currently, the only medical issues I have is controlled hypothyroidism. Thank you for any suggestions or feedback.

2025.02.01 19:51 chalantbaddie Why do some people lie to their friends about such small things?

Okay, I’m not quite sure if this is the right subreddit to post this in but my friend completely lied to me and our entire friend group (17F and 18F) about getting wisdom teeth removal surgery (and getting all 4 teeth removed). Like, she said she got it Sunday and was at school Monday morning COMPLETELY normal. No swelling, no bruising, nothing. And she kept on bragging about how she was on no pain meds. It’s so clear that she didn’t get surgery. It doesn’t affect me since I’m not close with her, but her two best friends were there too and she was lying straight to their faces. I just don’t understand why someone would lie about this. For attention? To seem tough?
I’ve gotten really good at spotting liars (one of my best friends was a pathological liar and almost everything that came out of her mouth was false and easily disproven) but I never thought this girl would lie. It’s just weird. I feel like such a large portion of people lie about such weird things. Like I get lying about a test score, but getting surgery?? Seems so odd to me.
Is there a reason? Do people grow out of constantly lying to their closest friends when they get older? And also, what’s the point of lying about small things to your friends? I am trying to understand pathological liars but it’s hard 😭

2025.02.01 19:51 AK827 Apple Books on external drive

Hi - does anyone know how to use an external drive as the main folder for Apple Books (like I can for my Music app)? I can drag and drop my audiobooks to another drive but then they don't show up in my Books app without being reloaded onto my computer hard drive.
I have a Mac Mini and that internal storage fills up fast. I have a few external drives attached and would love to store and access my audiobooks from there. Is this possible?
PS: Some folks might suggest this so I want to say that I do have an Audible account where I have some of my other audiobooks. The books on my computer are ones I ripped from older audiobook CDs that I have from over the years. I do tend to go back to listen to older audiobooks, too, to I'd like to have them easily accessible in Books.

2025.02.01 19:51 Lazerpop Access to two different mastercard concierge services. "Concierge" vs "Travel". Thoughts, opinions, experiences?

I just opened a BILT card today. Being able to pay my rent with a credit card with no fees (and points back) and then immediately pay off that payment is significantly better financially over time than getting a cashiers check ($5 at my bank) and then a stamp ($0.75) and envelope to send in the mail myself. Also, no annual fee cards are just good for making your credit utilization sexier.
As I was exploring other benefits, I noticed that I was able to sign up for and make an account with not one but two different official mastercard concierge services.
This one seems like a general mastercard benefit, but I'm having a hard time telling what the specific minimum qualifications are. It is operated by Aspire Lifestyles. https://www.aspirelifestyles.com/ The mastercard subdomain is CONCIERGE. https://concierge.mastercard.com/
This other one seems like a specific world elite benefit. It is operated by Ten Lifestyle Management. https://tenlifestylegroup.com/ https://ten-membership.com/ https://www.tenconcierge.com/product/ten/homepage The mastercard subdomain is TRAVEL. https://travel.mastercard.com/
I submitted an identical request to both of them asking for help with travel and accommodation plans in a different city a few months from now. I can update this thread later with the quality of the responses.
Curious if anyone else here has used eitheboth. Assuming that the travel subdomain is the "nicer" one because that was exclusive to world elite, but it's still utterly confusing that one company would offer two extremely similar benefits on two extremely similar but ultimately distinct websites (which require two different accounts to be made!)

2025.02.01 19:51 Writers-Bollock Are pensions a waste of time?

I met my dad for our annual catch-up in the pub a couple of weeks back and he was saying that a friend of his regrets spending his life paying into a pension because it's not actually made him better off in retirement.
Apparently those who haven't paid into a private pension get top-ups.
I'm approaching 50 and worried about the fact I've not being paying into a private pension.
Am I heading for Dickensian poverty or should I stop worrying about it?

2025.02.01 19:51 Accomplished_Goat167 Stop Supporting Businesses and Organizations That Back Trump and the MAGA Agenda!

Hey everyone,
As consumers, we have the power to make informed choices about where we spend our money. Many businesses and organizations actively support Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, whether through donations, public endorsements, or direct involvement. These entities contribute to the funding of policies and actions that promote extremism and division in our society.
It’s important to understand where our dollars are going and to make decisions that align with our values. If a company is supporting harmful ideologies or political agendas, we have the ability to stop funding them by choosing alternatives.
I’m starting this thread to raise awareness and share information about businesses, corporations, and organizations that support Trump and MAGA. By being conscious of who we are financially backing, we can help reduce the influence of extreme politics on our communities and economy.
If you know of any companies, businesses, or individuals that are supporting Trump or the MAGA movement—whether it’s through donations, public endorsements, or political involvement—please share the information here. Let’s help each other make more informed choices about where we spend our hard-earned money.
Together, we can have an impact and make sure that our spending supports values that reflect unity, inclusivity, and fairness.
Thanks for your input and let’s keep the conversation going!

2025.02.01 19:51 Inzane2BeZane Need help deciding on headset

So, I currently have the Steelseries Arctis 3 (had them for years, only problem is the cable, which is pretty fragile, and has broken quite a few times, otherwise great headset) but I'm now looking for a new pair. I was thinking of getting a wireless one this time around to avoid cable-issues altogether. Now, I have narrowed it down to mainly seven ones (it's a lot, I know, I can't decide, okay?):
Arctis Nova Pro Wireless - Recommended basically everywhere I go as all-around great
Turtle Beach Atlas Air - I'm curious about open-back, but never really tried it
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal - Might want to use them outside too, and these would be good for that
Razer Kraken V4 Pro - Mainly because of the Haptic feedback
Audeze Maxwell Wireless - Heard it was good for audiophiles, but maybe uncomfortable?
HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless - A little more budget-friendly, but still good
Turtle Beach Stealth Pro - Heard that their ANC was really good
(I'm also kinda considering Razer BlackShark V2 Pro, heard they had a great mic and stuff, but also mediocre sound.)
Some details (as recommended): What aspect of your current listening experience would you like to improve? - I actually have no qualms with my current headset, just that some part is a little loose, and I've been wanting to switch lately (cable's broken too, so I'd have to order a new one of those anyway). That said, I have wanted wireless for a while. Another thing I've wanted to improve is the surround/spatial, which isn't bad, but I feel like those I have now could use an improvement anyway.
Budget - I don't have a specific budget, and I'm willing to pay quite a bit if it means good quality. That said, if I can get something that's got everything I need for practically half the price, I'm always happy to save the money (duh); but really, don't worry about price - if the price is justified, then I'm happy.
Source/Amp - I'm using them with my pc, but I'd like to also be able to use them with my phone (not a must that they have great Bluetooth, but would probably be using them for that once in a while). I usually use Sony WF-1000xm4 when outside, and I plan to keep doing so unless the headset can match the ANC of those. Just for the record, ANC isn't a must, just a nice-to-have.
How the gear will be used - Pretty much explained that already, but it's mainly gonna be used indoors for gaming or just chatting/listening to music/watching the occasional movie (don't usually do that with headphones on). That said, a good mic is pretty important to me.
Preferred tonal balance - I'm not really sure: I guess I prefer accurate, but I kinda adapt either way. Sometimes, I just want some bass though. That said, I'd prefer a headset that's pretty good all-around, so that I can just play around with the EQ (if that's possible)
Preferred music genre(s) - Yeah... I don't really know what to say here; I listen to pretty much ANYTHING, I'm not picky when it comes to music. I have a Spotify playlist with 2000+ songs, and, at least, a 100 genres. That said... I don't really listen to heavy metal? Not that that's much help.
Past gear experience - As mentioned before, I have a Steelseries Arctis 3 and Sony WF-1000xm4 - used for my pc and outdoors, respectively. I've never really had any problem with either, except the cable for the SS, but that's pretty much it. I quite like the mic for the SS, and the design is pretty neat; as for the Sonys, I they're of course in-ear, and I'd never get that for gaming.
Location - I live in Denmark, so technology is just pretty expensive in general I believe. You can easily compare prices on pricerunner.dk, but I wouldn't mind something from Ebay or the like, as long as it's not really that used (preferably not used at all, but if they're cheap enough, then great condition could do. I'm probably just gonna end up buying it new though, just to be able to return it if I don't like it.)
I think that's the most important. I would honestly just have bought them all, tried them out, then returned the ones I didn't like, but 7 headsets are a lot to do that with, so I decided to make a post here instead. Just to reiterate, the things that matters most to me are audio, spatial/surround, and mic; those three being good is a must, and then things like a good Bluetooth connection, battery, or ANC are second. That said, when plugged in, the latency is pretty important too.
Just a side-note: the Kraken V4 are just there solely due to the haptic feedback; only reason I'm really considering them. So, I'm also curious if that's even really worth the extra money, because I don't see any other areas where they beat for example the Arctis Nova Pro, which are quite a lot cheaper in my country. I also already have a Razer keyboard, and probably gonna buy a mouse too, so I'm already in that ecosystem anyway.

How much should I charge for something like this? I recently started doing SFW art in a more anime-inspired style, and honestly, it's been pretty fun! (This is my latest piece, which I'm still working on for my portfolio)
My idea is to cater to VTubers and content creators, but pricing is the tricky part. I know I need to factor in copyright fees on top of the usual price, but after looking online... I’m not sure how to price mine yet
