I'm currently a new grad who has been working on a telemetry unit since Nov 2024. I mark my 6 months in April, I wanted to get into the ICU as a new grad but wasn't able. My whole cohort struggled to get a job after nursing school because of how populated my city is. Literally everyone is an RN and my current hospital is so full they cancel nurses all the time. During nursing school we all thought hospitals were super short staffed but that's def not the case here. All the RNs on my unit are obligated to float to a step down unit atleast twice a month, since I'm new I haven't floated yet but when the step down beds are full we get step down patients on my unit. I care for patients who are a bit more critical in the sense that they are status step down instead of regular tele patients. I want to get into the ICU but idk how, I've applied to endless residency's and don't get in or the ones that do contact me don't offer ICU only medsurg. I can stay at this hospital and after 6 months if there's an opening in the step down, apply and then move up the ladder that way. I know I need to slow down and realize it can take a while to land the position you want, but I feel like I'm never gonna get there. I've looked at a few ICU positions in my area to get an idea and all of them require ICU experience. Has any nurse in medsurg/telemetry been able to switch to ICU despite all the obstacles??

i hate my household. for christmas i got a brand new tablet to draw on!! and i was so happy bc it lowkey was so nice. we live with 3 animals a large rabbit and 2 cats. and since i cant keep it upstairs in my room i ask my stepdad to look after it. now fsr my stepdad hates my dad. and my dad bought me this tablet.
so like any other day i ask him to look after it, and he says yes!! . and i come home and he gives it back without me asking, and i go upstairs to draw and i turn it on only to be found out its be shattered.
he broke my tablet because my OWN FATHER bought me a birthday present. this isnt the first time hes stolen / broke stuff my own dad bought me. and it wont be the last. im 16 ol enough to move out. the only thing stopping me being fucking highschool.
so thanks alot stepdad for breaking my £150 tablet !!! esp since i cant get properly paid bc of my health ect . ..

So I’m looking for help and a solution to pairing my iPhone 14 via Bluetooth and CarPlay. We have the CX-50 hybrid
It stopped working—no longer connects and often just times out , continuing to just do a loading circle—about 10 days ago when we switched to my wife’s phone via Bluetooth so she could play a podcast on our way up to her parents.
Since then I had to unpair and re-sync hers and that worked—she has an SE 2.
But mine won’t reconnect even after I’ve told it to forget the Mazda and the rediscover it and restart my phone.
What do I do? Do I restart the infotainment system? Something else?
