Cuestión que nos veníamos viendo una vez por semana, pero me pasa que necesito MÁS. Algunas veces nos vemos un martes y un sábado por ejemplo, y ahí puede que resista un poco más jaja. Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here, but I've been reading people's stories for a while now.
I am 26 years old, 5 ft 3, 230 lbs. I think this all started when I was diagnosed with PCOS and was told to get on birth control at the age of 17. After that, I gained a lot of weight and my insulin resistance did not allow me to lose weight. I finally stopped gaining weight when I stopped taking birth control a little over a year ago. Since then I have been told that I have GERD, a hiatal hernia and IIH (Idiopathic intracranial hypertension). I went to talk to a surgeon about options for the first two things and he told me about gastric bypass. He had mentioned that it would help fix my insulin resistance, I would finally be able to lose weight and this will also help with my IIH. I am on board with the surgery and have so far made changes to prep for the surgery (stop drinking soda, no straws, drinking protein powder for breakfast since I normally do not eat anything, etc) but some of the other changes that I would need to stop all together do worry me. Such as not drinking with meals (I have been mostly following this so far but it's a little tough) and not eating sweets at all. I'm mostly a savory person anyways, but occasionally I do love to make homemade desserts so I do worry that I will never be able to eat those again forever? I'm fine to quit alcohol since I barely drank anyways, but I do like to drink socially, so I also wonder if I'll be able to drink with friends again in the future? And the last one, chewing my food until it's apple sauce texture. I try to do this most of the time, but I get grossed out by the texture in my mouth to what I'm eating.
These things makes me wonder if I will regret the surgery in the long term or not. I do not have a surgery date right now, I am supposed to get that date on Feb 18. So I've been trying as much as possible to do the things that I will have to do after surgery.
Aside from these, I would be so happy to lose weight finally. Nothing that I have tried in the past worked for me.
So here I am, what do you all recommend? With all the potential things I'm worried about, should I not go through with the surgery or am I being too dramatic and things do go back to normal somewhat after a year or so? I hate being 100% restrictive on myself which I worry is the new lifestyle after this surgery.

My company has a benefit where they pay $10,000 of my student loans after a year with the company. They paid this amount in 2024 and the total payment was around $8,500 with taxes already taken out. My question is, I didn't receive a separate form with this payment, so was this incorporated into my W-2 as earned income already? I didn't see any extra amount on my W-2 so I don't know. I am not sure how this is usually handled and wasn't sure if I needed to do anything to account for this on my taxes.

I struggle with sick days because I'm scared to ask my boss for one in the event that she'll fire me for it. Today, I have suicidal ideations and I want to vomit and I keep coughing (possibly somatic symptoms of my depression and PTSD).
I know that mental health isn't taking seriously and often employers will say that it's the employee's fault for not being able to work due to mental health despite it being a chemical imbalance in the brain (therefore a physical ailment).
I can honestly say that If I come to work today, I might faint or end up in the hospital with a burn-out. I'm worried for my well-being and I know that I have a duty for the hotel but I need to take a day off today...
I really need this job though. I really don't want to get fired for this and I have a few write-ups from mistakes in the past and I really wonder what you would do or communicate with your boss that you can't come in?

Saw a prismatic evolutions ETB and got excited as I haven't been able to find even a booter pack for my son and I to open and I asked them how much and they told me $135! What. The. Fuck. Well I won't be back to that shop and I found another shop in the next town over and I'm gonna take my son there on Sunday and we're gonna build him a deck and see if we can build me one too and play. Hopefully this shop has better prices and selection.

2025.02.01 21:41 Prudent-Buy409 moved house and my senior dog is really confused
Hi everyone
I have two dogs that are 18 in April. Same litter. One (female) is still cognitively there, but arthritic. The other (male) is less arthritic but has lost most of his senses (smell, sight hearing).
Unfortunately I had to move from my house (with backyard), that I own and where my dogs have lived (and therefore are familiar with in their old age) for the last 6 years, to renting a small apartment.
My male dog was already starting to have a hard time at the old place, bumping into things, pacing, not settling etc. I knew moving would be the worst thing for him, but I really had zero choice in that. It has been a traumatic 6 months for me and I needed to get out.
Since moving to the new place, as expected he has zero idea where he is. He is constantly pacing, bumping into everything, he won't sit on his mat or next to me on the lounge. The other is fine.
I have two problems:
- I cannot leave them (particularly him) alone here.
At my old house they knew where they were, I left them in the same spot when I'd gone out, it was routine. Granted I tried not to leave them as much as possible, but it was okay if I did.
- Toileting
Every morning (early - 5/6am) I wake up to him whining at the barrier because he has gone to the toilet and can't find his way back to the mat in my room (it's about 2m away). I pick him up and put him back on the mat but he just gets up and wanders again. over and over again. I know I sound silly, but I really need to sleep. I have had such disruptive sleep over the last 6 months, my body is tired, my mind is tired, and the no sleep has started to affect me deeply. I feel like I can't take my sleeping pills (Seroquel) because if I don't wake up early enough, he will have spent hours whining, lost, confused which I imagine is stressing him out.
He also makes a mess. This morning he must have stepped in poo and I could see how much he was pacing from the poo paw prints. There was poo on the walls. The smell is awful and it's right outside my room. I have all the windows open 24/7 but it only does so much. It's a small space. The whole place smells. So then I don't invite people over, because I'm conscious of how bad it smells in here. I'm extra scared because it's a rental, I'm not used to being a tenant, I'm scared I am going to ruin the floors and/or that the smell is going to be noticeable upon inspection. I can only mop so much so I don't ruin the floors (hardwood).
to be honest the mess is also getting to me. I came from a really messy, chaotic environment and now I crave cleanliness, order, clarity. I don't feel clean and I'm constantly cleaning up his accidents if I don't watch him and put him on the grass during the day. When I don't feel clean I won't eat - yes, this is besides the point and something seperate I need to sort out, but this situation is making it a lot worse.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can leave them (not all day) without stressing him out? And stressing me out so I can go out and relax rather than worry about what I might come home to? and for their toileting at night? is there a better option, way? is there a magic cleaning product I dont know about to help with the odour?
I don't even know what I am asking for here, I'm stressed, he's stressed, I left a highly stressful situation only to face more stress. I have spent the last two years dealing with anticipatory grief and it breaks my heart to watch them go downhill.
I don't know how to judge his quality of life - I see the vet monthly, she comments on how good they are for nearly 18. He is definitely not a bad dog, he is just confused, and he is confused because I moved house. He has no idea where he is, but I did that. As I write this post, I'm crying and he's pacing. I don't know what to do but it is really taking a toll on me.
My other dog is fine - just a bit arthritic.
