Hey Reddit, I need some advice on how to remove an occupant from my rental unit in Ontario.
I live in an apartment where the lease is under my name and my roommate’s name. However, we have an occupant (not a tenant) listed on the lease, and we no longer want her living with us. She has been verbally abusive and refuses to cooperate with required pest control spraying happening soon. She asked to do it I. 2 week because she works and owns a pet, but admin told me pest control is already coming next week, and if we don’t do it as soon as possible, and don’t deal w the pest we could be charged. It is frustrating seeing cockroaches and her being uncooperative. The sooner we fight the problem the safer is for us to live in, but she keeps making it personal saying I don’t communicate and I don’t care about her dog.
We used to be friends, but after this fight our relationship is broken. She has been verbally abusive and rude for many months, and her attitudes towards me make me feel uncomfortable in my own house. I really want her to leave.
From what I understand, occupants do not have tenant rights under the RTA, but I’m unsure about the best way to remove her. I know I can request to remove her as an occupant from my lease due to her not cooperating with pest control, and causing a health hazard for our home. Would this be a good reason?
I’m planning the following:
• Notified the landlord that we no longer want her living here. • Asked her to leave ( what can I do if she refuses)? • Sent a formal written notice giving her a deadline to vacate. (Is it 30 days)? I want to handle this the right way without getting into trouble. Any advice or similar experiences would be really helpful!

I’m sure, but Meredith’s reaction when she allowed Thorpe to stay over was completely not okay. I understand that she had a lot that she was dealing with but freaking out like that (while the man was literally sleep) was completely insane.
She allowed him in, directed him to her room, etc. Now be a she couldn’t handle it, they’re looking at him like did something wrong. In real life, this could have gone very very bad for him. The show just brushing past it never sat well with me.

I’m in my early twenties and I never really had friends especially ones that reciprocated and returned energy. So I tried BFF so I would stop being a lonely depressed college student . My experience wasn’t the best, I have met a few people but nothing after the first meeting. There has also been some strange experiences that I have had on bff . My whole life making friends has felt like a battle and I would never win, seeing everyone have friends that love and support them while no one responds to your messages or cares to communicate with you it sucks. I just feel like I’m never going to find my bridesmaid/ maid of honor, my soul tribe and I’m coming to terms with it. This experience has been like pulling teeth and it works for some people but it hasn’t for me . Maybe along the line I’ll try again but for now my account is deleted and I’m done. I would love to hear success stories and also stories like mine, if you all are comfortable sharing your experiences.
