I'm considering a dual-career path and wanted to get some advice. My plan is to work full-time as a middle school science teacher during the weekdays while picking up weekend shifts (12 hours each on Saturday and Sunday) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Why I’m Considering This:
Financially, it makes sense:
Teacher salary in my area (Louisiana): ~$50K/year
RT weekend shifts: $35/hour × 12 hours × 2 days × 52 weeks = $43,680/year
Total: ~$93,680/year
I enjoy both teaching and healthcare and want to keep my options open. This might even be helpful if I want to do RT in academia.
Do you think this is realistically sustainable?
Has anyone here worked two professional jobs like this? How did it work out?
Would I be better off just working full-time as an RT with extra shifts, or does having two jobs in different fields have long-term benefits?
Any advice on managing burnout, time management, or making this setup work efficiently?

So, my roommate and I were friends for 3 yrs prior to moving in together. We have lived together for 6 months and at first it was great, exactly how I imagined it would be. However, the first time I left town I asked if she could watch my dog for me for only a couple days. I told her if she couldn't I could ask someone else, but she said that'd be fine. I told her to just take her out twice a day and she'd be fine. My dog usually requires more care, but as long as she's fed and taken outside to go to the bathroom she'll be okay. On the day I'm coming home from my trip, my roommate tells me my dog is depressed and refuses to go to the bathroom outside, so has been defacting and peeing in my room the whole time. My roommate was quick to say she had cleaned it up and I don't need to feel bad that she cleaned it because she's had to do it before for other people in her life. First of all, that's extremely out of character for my dog. She never poops or pees in the house. Also, when she is depressed, she sleeps a lot, it doesn't ever affect her ability to use the bathroom. I was kind of able to put the pieces together and realize my roommate never took my dog out and instead just forced her to shit and piss in my room. When I got home, I didn't even know how to confront my roommate for coming up with a bullshit excuse instead of letting me know the first day that she was unable to care for my dog. I could've called someone else to pick up my dog and take care of her, but instead she was neglected. When I told this story to my loved ones who know my dog well, they were shocked and angry because it was obvious I was being lied to. Anyways, I just decided I wouldn't ask for her help with my dog anymore and left it at that.
Since then, I've also gotten sober. So now going out to parties and bars is not really all that fun for me, which is what we did a lot. She still goes out with her friends, but I just don't. We no longer hang out in a way that works for us because I don't use substances.
I also have trouble having her do her part around the house. Multiple times I've come home from spending a few days at my partners house, only to find the toilet bowl is literally black and our microwave is moldy and stinks! I always end up cleaning them. I do all the nitty gritty shit and when I told her I was going to make a chore chart she starts telling me everything she already does (sweeping the kitchen, cleaning off the stove top, and doing her dishes which is not a lot imo). She also has this cat and never changes her litter box so it reeks. I have talked to her about it before because it came to the point where the cat was tracking shit onto my couch. I asked her to clean the couch too, but no avail. We'll see if the chore chart will help a little.
There's been a few times where she tries to get me to sacrifice my needs to accomodate hers. And not just compromising, I'm down for that. Like, I got knee surgery and so my mom stayed for 5 days to help me out with stuff because I was literally incapacitated. She told me after my mom left that she would have asked my mom to leave if she stayed longer than 5 days, never offering to help me with anything. I did ask her to clean the shower during this time because I was on crutches, never happened.
She tends to weaponize her emotional discomfort and innocence. She always will blame a lot of her issues or need for confrontation on her mom. Like her mom thinks she's being taken advantage of, her mom thought she should tell me... etc. Even though I supply most appliances and furniture for the apartment, which she doesnt attempt to respect at all. She will get overstimulated and call me in a frenzy demanding I do certain chores to help her feel more comfortable when I'm not even home. She is extremely confrontational and hostile but manages to mask it as innocence or she just felt a certain way because of mental illness. We are both traumatized individuals, so I have been able to make that space. I understand and I understand I have my short comings as well, but she has just made it really uncomfortable at this point. Her apologies are not real, her explanations for her actions is actually just her subtly blaming me. I don't know how else to explain the situation without making this a lot longer than it already is.
Anyways, I'm done being friends and definitely done being roommates, but I have 5 more months on the lease. My boyfriend is going to help me pay for the last 2 months of rent so we can move into our own place. I don't want to be friends with her anymore because it's emotional abusive and being roommates has me absolutely drained and feeling uncomfortable in my home.
I dont know if this all makes sense. But how should I deal with this? How do I confront her for being lowkey manipulative without saying that? Like idk, I'm also sketched about confrontation and have a hard time setting boundaries. I've gotten a lot better and have realized this is just an opportunity for me to work on this part of myself. I just want to know if anyone else has dealt with this and have any tips.

I acquired two different types of ONN compatible remotes from Ali Express to use a a second remote (for the wife) at the same time that an original remote is hooked up. One looks like the original remote for the ONN 4K model and the other is the UGOOS UR02 model. Both can be added as a remote but I am having trouble on a few different branded TVs (LG, Insignia, Changhong) to control the volume and power. When I use a remote from the ONN 4K model as a second remote on a ONN PRO, I do not have any issue controlling the tv. Did anyone have any luck with these acting as a full remote (in this manner) as a second remote on an ONN BOX?
