2025.02.02 00:00 sunrisebreeze UGOOS UR02 Remote: Volume control with Onn 4K Pro box?

I got this from Ali Express as an additional remote for my Onn 4K Pro box. The remote feels good and the main functions work great (select, home button, etc.).
However, I have a sound bar plugged into my TV and I can’t get the native volume buttons on the remote to control volume of my sound bar. Native volume buttons are +, - and the mute button: on the remote they are black buttons with white print on them. If I go into Settings -> Remotes and Accessories -> Set up remote buttons, that only seems to configure the settings for the Onn 4K’s remote.
As a workaround I used the IR learning feature of the UGOOS UR02 to program the gray rocker buttons to the right of the microphone button on the UGOOS remote, to control soundbar volume up and down. But it would be preferred to get the native volume buttons to work.
I also went into Settings->Remotes- and Accessories->Set up remote buttons -> Volume control and set that to “onn. Streaming Device 4k pro”. If I do that, then I can control the volume on the Onn 4k box itself with the Onn 4k remote as well as the UGOOS UR02 remote using the native volume control buttons. This seems to be an independent control that modifies the volume output to the soundbar, HOWEVER.. when I do it this way the top volume level does not sound as loud as the top volume when I use my soundbar’s remote control. And the volume control is not as granular as when using the native volume controls on my soundbar remote. (It seems to skip some steps in the volume curve so the volume control isn’t as precise, so I don’t want to control the volume this way).
I think this is the way things will work with this remote, but just posting here in case I am missing some setting in Onn 4K Pro’s config….
Overall this is a great remote and the price I paid (2 remotes for $9.37 as I got one on a special deal) is fantastic. If I could get this little volume issue figured out it would be perfect. But if not the remote is still a solid one. It is one of the few I am aware of for the Onn 4K Pro that includes a play/pause button!

2025.02.02 00:00 Easy-Ad5886 Surgery resident finding it difficult to date peds resident

I’m a PGY2 in a competitive surgical subspecialty program. Recently started dating this woman who’s a pediatrics resident. She’s wonderful and I love spending time with her, but I find myself getting very annoyed when the topic of work/residency comes up. She has always been extremely supportive and empathetic of the demands of residency, but I get frustrated when I ask how her day was and she sometimes talks about about how busy her day was admitting patients, rounding, speaking with families etc. It’s not that I think peds/medicine residents have it way easier than surgery residents or that I think I’m better than her, but I find myself getting annoyed that I’m pulling 90-100+ hour weeks routinely juggling the OR, consults, and floor while I know her hours and workload haven’t been nearly as bad. I used to think it would be great to be with someone in medicine no matter the field, but I’m starting to think only a surgeon could truly understand what this feels like. I’m aware that this is a terrible way to think, but I’m just not sure how to get past it. I can’t even talk to her about it, because it sounds ridiculous even to myself as I’m typing this out. Guess I’m just looking for any advice and/or for anyone to drill some sense into me.
