I was in Cleveland Ohio with my buddy Ellis at a show and he said he was reallly thirsty and wanted a Roy Roger. So i went up to the bar and asked for one and the employee said she didn’t have those but she’d double check. When she got back she rolled her eyes and said “Next time can you just ask for a Cherry Coke?” Is this really an unreasonable request? People order Shirley Temples when they want a Cherry Sprite… What gives? Well… This story takes a turn for the worst. I just said “Okay sorry, thank you.” and took the drink. But my buddy Ellis… He wasn’t taking it so lightly. He stood up from his seat at lightning speed and said “BITCH, ITS A ROY ROGER” And he pulled out the biggest blade i’ve ever seen. Shit was on god like 9 feet long i have no fucking idea how he concealed it. You’d have to imagine it was like a retractable blade. But he pulls it out and threatens to decapitate her for the Roy Roger thing. We got kicked out immediately of course because my buddy Ellis couldn’t keep his cool. He was swinging around the big sword and it was wiggling and the bouncers pounced his ass for wiggling the sword. He didn’t even get to Drink his Roy Roger. Was this an unreasonable request? Am i in the wrong for this? I feel like we could’ve avoided getting kicked out if i just asked for a Cherry Coke…

I've worked at this company for three weeks. I went back to college when I was 21 and am graduating this May. I am currently balancing work and school as I finish my degree in biochemistry. I've had a full-time job before and understand the demands of the workforce. Currently, I am a lab technician part-time, but they want to hire me full-time. Since I've worked there, I was told to prioritize my work with R&D on formulations. I received another writing assignment and was never given a deadline. They offered very little guidance on tone or audience or general project details other than "translate this longgg legal document into plainspeak". I asked and then was told Friday would be ideal for a rough draft, but to prioritize other work. I turned in the rough draft on Saturday at 6am. They responded saying it looked excellent. A week later, I was called into a meeting which started with my boss bitching about apps and Gen-Z. He accused me of being lazy and said I rushed the work because I was late and it was full of mistakes. All the mistakes? A single typo. In what was a rough draft on my very first assignment. (I cant use grammarly or any online services because the information is proprietary.) He belittled me, raised his voice, and referred to me as a "young lady" multiple times. I tried to explain my logic to him on another point he was criticizing me on, a dispute about contract law (which I have studied), but he interrupted me and refused to let me speak. Is this how the work environment normally is? I'm not stupid. I hadn't made a single mistake over the past three weeks and progressed quickly. Am I wrong for thinking that he was being overly critical? It felt like he wrote a narrative in his head about me before anything even happened.

TLDR: Daily prescriptions cost $882 per day. Multiple Sclerosis has bankrupted me.
Apologize for the long post but don’t know how to simplify my issue. I have had multiple sclerosis for almost 18 years.
I received my Medicare Part D statement today and am just floored at the costs of medications.
I know some of my Multiple Sclerosis pills are expensive such as Modafinil, dalphamprine, and Meloxicam but the specialty drugs are just unreachable for those without insurance.
I was taking Ocrevis for 6 years and the retail cost every 6 month infusion was $83,700. This is $458.63 per day/$13,758 per month, $167,400 per year.
I lost my health insurance for almost 2 years and just got so far in debt maxing out every card I had to get my pharmacy meds every month (about $6,400 with Good Rx). The infusion was at the hospital so I started small payments but was still in debt for $500k just for medicine to help me live a slightly better life. Because of this, I had to declare bankruptcy last year.
Due to progressive nature of my disease, I have had to switch to from Ocrevis to Mavenclad. This is 10 pill regimen over 5 days in mid November 2024 to start and another 5 day round in mid December (30 days after the first). Due to potency of Mavenclad (no clue how effective it will be for me) I won’t have to repeat the regimen cycle until November & December 2025.
The retail cost billed to Medicare for the Mavenclad is $94,839.19 per round of 10 pills. This comes out to $9,483.92 per pill/ $189,678 per year or $519.67 per day.
With my regular daily meds (16 total individual prescriptions), the daily retail cost is $362.21. This brings my daily medication cost to $881.88.
Without Medicare, I don’t think I would be able to survive with the MS.
Just for reference, I was approved for SSDI in September so I was placed on Medicare. I am only 46 years old! :(
Something needs to change with the countries pharmaceutical industry so we can afford the meds the doctors keep telling us to take.
