2025.02.02 02:57 tmak94 Dealing with bass noises from clubs in Glenwood South?
I recently moved into an apartment complex in Glenwood South and I vastly underestimated how sensitive I would be to the noises. I was able to switch units to one that faces away from the clubs, but sometimes I can still feel light thumps from the bass. Other noises like traffic doesn't bother me as much, just bass, especially when it's past midnight and I'm trying to sleep.
I'm already making plans on moving out once my lease is up (next year...), but until then I need strategies to keep my health and sanity. For those who live in the area, what helps with this? Foam on walls? Noise cancelling headphones?

Saw a video today of a wife video taping her husband and he is sitting outside holding a spool of wire that is almost entirely used up. Wife asks husband what he's doing and he starts talking about how he has had that spool for so long and that it's almost gone. The wife makes some unrelated comment and ignores the husbands observation. It was actually quite sad.
I have not been able to stop thinking about this and how badly I'd like to have a conversation with this man about all the projects he used wire from that spool on. Since watching that video, I have been very fixated on thinking about the depth of life, even the depth of the most shallow moments we all experience. Thinking about all of the things on this Earth that my hands have touched, that my mothers hands have touched, that my fathers hands have touched... looking at a door knob and considering all the hands that have touched that door knob and opened it.... how that door knob somehow brings us together. Are we really strangers? Who made that door knob? Where are they now? What was their life like?
I don't know.

2025.02.02 02:57 Fun_Replacement_2269 First odd behaviour in 7 years of COTW game play! So now I have a question...
I have the following two items that relate to the issue I am experiencing:
.300 Canning Magnum Frontier Rifle M1 Iwaniec Collection Rifle
Each with one or the other scope that I interchange:
Hyperion 4-8x42 Argus 8-16x50
Here is the issue...
When hunting using the scope (either one from the two listed above) on the .300 Canning Rifle, it will disappear off the rifle, and I have to load it back on the gun. It happens randomly, and there appears to be no pattern to when it disappears. It happens FREQUENTLY in the game.
My other rifle, the M1, has the opposite scope on it, and it stays on the rifle throughout my playing period, so it appears to be an issue with the .300 rifle?
Any ideas? Thank you.

There are so many people who drive without their headlights on.
I see so many people driving with only their daytime running lights (or no lights at all) on either in the pitch dark, fog, and other low-visibility situations and it enrages me.
People also drive with their parking lights on at night which illuminates their DRL’s, taillights, and side marker lights; no low beams. Like, can’t you not see the fuckin’ road? I have a slight struggle to see the road sometimes with regular low beams on due to an astigmatism which causes light sensitivity and if I had just the parking lights on I’d be completely blind.
Someone I knew had a Kia, and the low beam indicator and the high beam indicator were the same symbol on the dash, but the high beam was blue and the low beam was green. The parking light indicator (small circle with 2 flares coming out of the sides) is also used for the low beam indicator in some vehicles. This person had his parking lights on which he believed were his low beams and I saw him driving, told him only his parking lights were on, and he believed that the low beams were the high beams.
But, did he not ever use the high beams? Did he know they were there? Maybe he thought the real high beams were super high beams? Anyway, he thanked me for telling him why he couldn’t see shit at night.
I drive a lot of rental cars and I always make sure the lights are on when they’re supposed to be. I also rarely use automatic headlights because sometimes they don’t come on when I want them to and constantly am checking them in lower-visibility situations where I think headlights are appropriate where some people or the car will not deem them necessary; think a Florida pouring down sunshower where there’s sun but not much visibility plus the law is to have lights on in the rain. If I’m going to have anxiety about it not doing what I want it to do, I’d rather just take care of it myself. It’s also like a mental checklist I go through when I get in a car. For example: Is it dark out? Okay, lights on. My seatbelt is on. Is it hot out? A/C is on. It’s raining so I’ll make sure the windows are up, and the list goes on.
TLDR; people are fuckin stupid for not driving with proper lights on. Emphasis on “people are fuckin stupid”.

2025.02.02 02:57 Hairy-District998 For some reason my computer hasn't finished restarting and I can still move my mouse, it seems like it's shutting down because every time when I close it it doesn't seem to finish restarting. I'm not sure if it's in sleep save mode, but I'm genuinely afraid for help.
I tried to download a file but when nothing appeared I simply wanted to restart the computer thinking about something before that it sent me an alert message saying that two things were not closed, I thought they were just two tabs in which one was doing download and the other a file that could not be executed. Without thinking much, I simply accepted and proceeded to restart it. I pray for the love of God that I haven't done anything wrong or that it still works because my parents will arrive in a matter of minutes. Not only is my computer new, but I also don't want to cause any more problems for them. Is there anything I can do?

I have finally figured out the combo scoring system (for android)
for one line clear you get 10 points. for each subsequent combo you get an additional 10 points.
so the "basic clear" for 1 line is 10.
for example, clear 1 = 10, combo 1 =20, combo 2 = 30, combo 3 = 40, so on and so forth.
it gets a bit trickier when you clear more than one line, because the "basic clear" increases for each additional line.
you clear 2 lines, you get 20 points
you clear 3 lines, you get 60 points
you clear 4 lines, 120
5 lines, 200
so lets say your combo number = N
and the basic clear number =B
so the formula for the score you get is B(N) + B.
Let's run for example, you clear 3 lines on your 11th combo.
So it will be 60(11) +60 = 720.
these calculations are made from the Android version. idk how the ios version works
