6 year old female cat. 11 pounds. Spayed. Unknown breed.
History 01/2025 her left eye swelled and all she needed was erythromycin ointment and it cleared up 08/2024 she had a nasty respiratory virus and was diagnosed with asthma
1/22 her right swelled shut with nasty discharge I started some erythromycin ointment. Her third eyelid was up and everything. The ointment did help with the discharge 1/24 seen by vet and started onsior and ofloaxcin 1/27 we went back for recheck and it’s improved but not better. 2/1 both eyes are now swollen with nasty discharge so I started doing drops in both eyes. She’s now sneezing also.
She was back to her normal self but now that her left eye is swelling up she’s not eating as much again, only wet food.
We go back 2/3 to the vet for a checkup.
Any advice on what to do?

My father is 85 years old, is of sound mind, and lives in Oregon. I do not, and conversation referenced in this post took place over the phone.
He needed some work done on his shower faucet. A plumber he had done business with and was satisfied with was contracted to fix the faucet.
The work was completed approximately November 22nd, and my father paid seven hundred dollars by credit card, which seems excessive to me but he paid it. The work was under warranty.
He noticed that the faucet was very sensitive and he called the plumber about this. I don't know exactly what he said but he did mention that this was work done under warranty. They said they'd send someone out so he wouldn't scald himself.
The plumber showed up, turned the faucet on and off, said it was fine, that will be $119. My father mentioned the work being warranty work. The plumber said that since the faucet was fine, my father had to pay. He mentioned that he had a recording of my father on the phone with them, but he did not explain the significance of this. My father refused to pay, and the plumber ended up sitting in his driveway in his vehicle for a while, and after a bit another plumber showed up and they sat in their vehicles for a while, then left.
I asked my father if he felt intimidated and he said yes.
I have not tested the faucet.
Today he got a "final demand" letter billing him $119 and threatening to send the bill to collection within the next few weeks.
What should he do?

I understand what’s happening in the US is distressing for some of you, but deleting our posts about what trans people are going through is nonsensical. Burying your heads in the sand won’t help us.
Earlier someone tried to share news about a trans veteran taking her own life at a VA office while draped in a trans flag. To hide that post because it’s “distressing” is nothing more than doing the Trump administration a favor. I guess I expected more from this sub.

Was very unnerving of an experience. As a kid I used to lucid dream all the time, as I got older and started drinking, using weed and other life stuff I stopped. For many years because of alcohol I didn’t dream at all. I’ve quit all that and have been going down a path of self realization and one thing I wanted to pick back up is lucid dreaming. I had my first semi lucid dream a few nights ago and it was hell.
I say semi lucid because while at first I wasn’t lucid the torture made me lucid but I wasn’t in control of the dream. At some point in my dream I had a cast on my leg, a man I believed to be a doctor was conveying to me that he was going to remove the cast with a new painless method that I wouldn’t feel at all. When he started to remove the cast he used a scalpel to start cutting a deep ~1ft slice into the side of my calf muscle. This is when I became lucid but wasn’t in control. I became paralyzed as I watched this man slice into my leg while smiling. I could feel every inch of the blade cutting me open. I could feel the warm blood running down my leg. I was screaming in pain and terror but there was no one. As I was stuck there bleeding and in pain I started telling myself it’s just a dream and to wake up which I did shortly after.
But man wtf?! My younger self lucid dreams used to be about flying and touching boobs. This dream left me unsettled and a bit traumatized even now. I’m still going to work on my lucid dreaming but any tips to control them better?

 | Hi all, this is my sweet girl Lovie, who is turning 16 this week! A year ago I had to watch her when my mom was in the hospital, and when my mom didn’t leave the hospital, my dad would not take her back home and I had to keep her. At first it was really hard. She barked and cried constantly and it was hard to get anything done. So many of you kind folks stepped up to answer my post from last year. The most important piece of advice was patience, which I’ve needed a lot of with this girl. We still have episodes of barking, as she was diagnosed with doggie dementia last month. I still don’t sleep much, but with gabapentin (no luck with cbd treats) she sleeps for 2 hour stretches. She still goes for walks, rolls in the carpet, and loves all her treats. Besides the dementia and some daily ear medicine, Lovie is doing well for 16! I think my mom would be happy that her baby is being well cared for. Thank you again for all your help a year ago. Back in 2024 I purchased a new vehicle, I updated progressive and the monthly premium was only going to be about $50 more than what I was already paying so no big deal. The next month they wanted $799 for ONE MONTH. I of course canceled and got new insurance. Now they have sent my account to collections. Calling progressive was useless when I saw the premium change, they couldn't give me a straight answer and could not tell me why I would get quotes for much much lower when I do a quote for a new policy. I fully believe progressive should be sued for these types of situations. I cannot be the only one they have done this to.
