Just came back from a wedding, where my main dish was a beautifully tender beef cheek over polenta.
The beef was braised in a red wine sauce, and I didn’t feel like it important that much flavour and it was the pull apart texture of the meat that stood out the most.
Can anyone recommend a recipe? I’ve seen dozens online for a similar red wine braise but wondering if there is one that has maybe tomato puree in it.

So, buckle up, because I’ve got a story for you about how Apple—a multibillion-dollar tech giant—allowed their customer support to harass me, violate my privacy, and break consumer protection laws all in one fell swoop.
It started with what should have been a simple billing issue. I signed up for a free trial of an app through the App Store (Readle, if you’re curious), but instead of getting seven days free, I was immediately charged $74.36. Thinking this was an error, I contacted Apple Support to request a refund. And that’s when my nightmare began.
After days of being bounced between departments, given contradictory information, and stonewalled at every turn, I suddenly started receiving harassing phone calls. On February 1, 2025, at 5:18 PM, I got a call from a No Caller ID number. Here’s how it went: • Me: “Hello?” • Caller: “Yeah, this is Apple.” • Me: “Oh, hello, how are you?” • Caller: “You’re not getting your refund, you little bitch.”
Two minutes later, at 5:20 PM, I received another call from the same No Caller ID number. This time, they said, “You’re not getting your refund, so stop fucking calling.” When I asked, “What was that?” and started recording, they hung up.
And it didn’t stop there. Later that evening, I received another call. This time, my roommate recorded it. During the call, the person said, “You were trying to get free shit from Apple,” and hung up again.
Here’s the thing: I recognize the voice of the person who called me. It’s someone I spoke to during my earlier Apple Support calls. This means that someone at Apple accessed my personal phone number through their systems and used it to harass and threaten me.
Let’s be clear: this is not just unprofessional. This is a violation of privacy laws and likely a violation of Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act Chapter 93A, which prohibits deceptive and unfair business practices. Apple has failed to safeguard my personal information, allowed it to be misused, and subjected me to outright harassment.
I’ve already filed a police report and reported this to the FTC and Massachusetts Attorney General. Apple, on the other hand, has done little to address the situation. Their solution? Filing an internal complaint that will likely go nowhere.
I’m recovering from surgery after a domestic violence incident, and the last thing I need is a tech company’s support representative weaponizing my phone number against me. This incident has caused me emotional distress, financial strain, and a deep mistrust of Apple’s so-called commitment to privacy and customer care.
I am demanding that Apple: 1. Investigate this incident thoroughly and hold the responsible party accountable. 2. Compensate me with a year of Apple Music and a replacement iPhone for the harm they’ve caused. 3. Publicly acknowledge their failure to protect my privacy and ensure this doesn’t happen to other customers.
Apple prides itself on being a leader in privacy, but this situation exposes a complete failure of their internal controls. If they can’t ensure their own employees don’t harass customers, why should any of us trust them with our personal data?
If this angers you, feel free to share my story. Maybe public outrage will force Apple to take this seriously because so far, internal accountability seems nonexistent.

Hello!
I’m here seeking advice regarding the title and extra.
I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 16. And I frequently have missed periods and I was on birth control oral pills for a year and it didn’t help. I was on xulane patches for another year and it didn’t help either so I’ve given up on birth control method (especially since the side effects really hit me!)
I’ve been doing my best to loose weight and I’ve lost about 15 lbs (not the best but I’m working towards it) my issue is that while I’m used to having missed periods for months at a time, I’m experiencing some sharp pain in my lower belly area, lower back, but dull pain on my pelvic sides (L&R). It’s so intense at times that it drops me to the floor when I’m standing or I can’t get up when I’m sitting. It started about three days ago and it came on suddenly.
I haven’t consulted a doctor yet (I currently don’t have health insurance which is why I’m seeking advice here, butI’m working towards insurance right now) and I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this pain before or if it sounds familiar.

I have been at my job for one year as a temp, and they finally offered me a permanent position with them last week. I have never been happy there, although I like my co-worker and boss. It's just the workload . It's only 2 of us and with just taking one day off, we get really backed up in paperwork . My co-worker has been there for 3 years and has only used about 5 days of PTO, because he says it's so busy. He wears many hats in the company , and I see that he has a hard time setting boundaries and saying no just to make the boss happy. This is also his first corporate job , so I feel like he owns them his loyalty (if that makes sense).
Now that I have been there for a year , and I kinda know what to do (I have learned a lot, but because it's so busy and he is a bit unorganized , if he isn't there, I don't really know what to do on my own. I don't even have my own accounts for certain softwares we use and these softwares ask for a verification codes , so when he isn't there I have to bother him through text to send me the verification code) , he has decided it's now the time to take some PTO in 2 months . The thing is that since a month ago I have been more serious about looking for a new job , and I just got an offer at a place that aligns more with my long term goals , and I would go from 50k to 70k.
I know it's not my problem that they are short staffed, but I feel so bad. My co-worker has also said from the time he has been there, they have hired two different people , but they were all incompetent and they also quit. He mentions from time to time that I am such a huge help because he doesn't have to stay so late anymore, even though he still does from time to time . I leave right at my end time because I have to go pick up my kid. But he talks about being there until 6 sometimes, (his start time is 7:30) and comes in on the weekends sometimes to get a head start. Technically it's 4 of us in total at the office, my co-worker , the boss, and our bookkeeper, but the bookkeeper and the boss don't exactly know how to do our workload.
I come from working at bigger corporate offices and when I would take time off, I knew I wasn't going to come back to my work being backed up , yes a lot of emails , but it didn't feel urgent. With this job, it's a shitload of physical paperwork .
