I just got back from my journey. I went on my usual night shopping trip when I felt a strong intuition to go two blocks past my home. Initially, I thought I would find money, but instead, I found a tree—one tree standing out among many on that street. The moment I saw it, I immediately knew it was my place.
I first touched the tree, then I didn’t care about wearing nice clothes. I took off my shoes, sat under the tree, and instantly felt amazing. (Before this, I had been touching trees after the rain and also felt incredible.) While I was sitting there, a dog approached me. It was calm, just like I was in that moment. I also walked and jumped on the grass, and after that, I felt complete peace. I thanked the tree, saying, “Thank you so much, I feel amazing,” and then walked back home barefoot.
After this experience, I felt like cleaning my room and leaving behind my old habits and addictions, like excessive phone use and porn.
Something interesting happened on my way home: all the aggressive dogs started barking at me, except for those that already know me. However, the dogs that approached me and the one that came to me while I was sitting under the tree were all peaceful. I believe this is because I was also calm, and our energies matched. The dogs that barked at me are usually aggressive and seem to be restless. When they sense that I’m vibrating high—feeling good, positive, and loved—they get scared. I have experienced this many times. When I feel "kinda messy" or out of balance, these chaotic dogs don’t bark at me. But after meditating or when I generally feel good, that’s when they do.
Maybe you don’t believe in this and think that dogs are just territorial, and it’s okay if you do. But I have enough experience to be sure of what I’m saying.

Here are two options I am looking at for a 16" MacBook Pro
Option 1:
- M4 Pro
- 14 Core CPU
- 20 core GPU
- 48GB Unified RAM
- 4TB Storage
- M4 Max
- 14 Core CPU
- 32 Core GPU
- 36GB Unified RAM
- 4TB Storage
To me, I think that option 1 sounds better having more RAM especially if I'm not doing a lot of video work. But, please let me know your thoughts.
My use case is mostly app development, web development, basic (not too graphic intensive) game development, etc. I also go out of town to meetings once in a while, but I understand that both have fairly high battery life with Max being a bit lower.
I have heard that the M4 Max has some issues with heat / fan / throttling. But this may only be in the 14" model.

 | Hi you wonderful geniuses! I have a question that I’m having a tough time figuring out through research and searching the subreddit. I’m breadboarding a bazz fuss as my first diy pedal and I find that the headroom is far too gratuitous. I know that some amount of signal boost is expected from a gain effect but anything turned up past maybe a 1/4 and its insanely loud. And that small fraction of signal that I find somewhat matchable to the clean level is not very forgiving. Great tone but soooooo so loud. What components could I swap/add/subtract to tame the overall loudness of this effect while maintaining the saturation? I’d probably want that useable 1/4 - 1/3 of the pot to be closer to the max of the knob. Attached is the schematic I’m referencing. Another question is how could I create a sort of “gate” circuit for this? I have experimented with using a 10k resistor and a 100k resistor. I like the extreme gating of the 10k, and the sustain of the 100k. My thought is I’d like to create a blend knob between the two so I could “gate” to taste. Is this a good idea?
