I had two pretty intense "situationships" two summers in a row. I say situationships because in both cases I had thought I found someone I can build a future with, but both had difficulty with commitment and ultimately distanced after a few months. (I should mention both started with in-person encounters and moved away to another country).
I only know how to give 150% in relationships. It don't feel it's forced or unnatural--I come from a really loving family and have a lot of love to give, and demand very little in return. I make clear from the start that all I ask is for quality time and words of affirmation. Simple things--be present with me, send quick texts or phone calls if something is up, be honest and communicate, etc. I on the other hand love to give:
- I have a giant list of gift ideas for all my loved ones.
- I plan really special and thoughtful dates
- I love to bring care packages when someone is having a bad day or sick.
- I insist on paying for meals because I am in a good place financially
- I love to listen and help my partner's work through their personal or professional issues
- list goes on and on
The second girl, again very skeptical of me, but by the second date extremely affectionate, vulnerable, and was evening crying with me about her really deep traumas. But again, something happens at about the 3 month point where she distanced from me.
Both of these girls claimed (and claim to this day) they have never met anyone like me, and that they aren't deserving of me. The first is in a committed relationship and until this day watches all of my social media stories with fake accounts despite having blocked her multiple times. She was even willing to cheat with me. The second can't help but break no contact every month or so. When I give her another chance--it's the same story. She simply cannot commit to taking things more seriously, considering the future, etc.
I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am an above average looking man, fit, come from a good family, have a good career, know how to keep life really exciting, yet I keep meeting these people who can't seem to accept I am who am, and eventually distance and cannot commit. Am I doing too much?
TLDR: I gave 100% to both of my previous partner's but they started distancing from me.

2024.11.24 23:01 seagullplayer77 Hollow Ceramic Diffuser Rope (?) Inside of Burner Tube...Can This Be Replaced?
 | I recently bought a house with an old vented natural gas fireplace. There are three burner tubes, but only the first half of the first tube would light regardless of the gas pressure. I shut off the gas and took everything apart to look for a clog or spider web in the fittings and while didn't find one, I did pull a hollow ceramic rope out of the tube where the gas enters the burner. There's a fine metal mesh inside the ceramic rope that's badly degraded; I'm assuming this is the reason for the poor flow and partial ignition. Is this something I can replace? There's no identifying information on the burner and I tried searching for a replacement part, but I'm not even sure what to call this. I plan on replacing the burner and log set in the future but was hoping I could at least get some use out of the current one over the holidays. I know these exist, it was a limited edition copy but the DVD case was one of those hard metal cases instead of basic plastic. I nearly brought one 6 years ago But it's like they have vanished on the face of the earth. Does anyone know of where I could get one or at least see one?

2024.11.24 23:01 Accomplished-Month85 Improvements in Dark Scenes Are 4k's Biggest Advantage
After watching and amassing quite a few movies, I found that the biggest difference visually between streaming and a 4K bluray in my experience is the quality of dark scenes. Take the latest Batman for example; streaming it looks like an absolute mess, making it, in my opinion, almost unwatchable. Could be called The Macroblock or The Artifact.
The 4K bluray (with HDR) on a fairly decent TV (a U8K in my case) puts most theatres to shame. The film becomes comprehensible, and the contrast between what lights are in the scene and the darkness is mind-blowing.
Of course everything else is great to: film grain is visible, details in the background are sharp, depth of field effects look crisp, etc.

Hey guys,
Need some advice, I have just completed a Bachelor of Advanced Medical Science and I am looking to pursue my Masters in one of the two degrees below.
The Masters of Research (STEM) is a HDR that involves me doing a full project for a year and because my grades are high enough I get to skip the lectures and just finish the research project and get out saving me a year. The benefit of this one I've found is it shows an expertise in research which I would assume is essential when it comes to analysing clinical data and doing research when working as an MSL.
The other course is a Masters of Medical and Health Leadership which has a focus on leadership and strategic skills which emphasises on team management and higher management roles. Major one is communication as well.
While writing this, a potential option I have come up with is, Since I have a scholarship to do the MRes STEM, I do that degree part time (2yrs total because thats 15-20hrs per week). I then do a diploma of some sort in the leadership, management and communication in health. This way I have a strong research and analysis background and key skills in leadership, management and healthcare. This will be supplemented by me running my own medical marketing agency and an internships at potentially Pfizer.
Could someone please help me out to see if I am on the right path?

Trying to hold this back, but its getting out of control:
- Loud music cars driving speedily throughout all the pedestrian area.
- Very unsafe kind of environment where drivers are aggressive towards pedestrian and also hurling abuses at them.
- The whole environment at all safe for family and children anymore.
- There have always been some homeless people there, but the Roudy Cars late night are a bigger danger to families doing shopping there late night.

I'm a light neutral olive that's cool-leaning with yellowish tones. I've been looking for a brown liner that won't pull super orange. I can use warm lip products, but not straight up orange (which unfortunately a lot of brown liners end up looking so on my lips.)
I've heard of Travis from Makeup by Mario being a good neutral brown, and just based off photos, Milk chocolate also doesn't look orangey. If anyone has these and can swatch and compare them i'd be very appreciative!

Hey everyone,
Trying to decide if I a better adding a 2nd VTF-2 MK5 to my set up or selling the one I have an upgrading to one of the bigger options listed above (than maybe down the line upgrading to a 2nd). It looks like 2 would have about the same power output as one of the bigger options. My room is about 17.5’x 18.5’ in the main part with 8 foot ceilings but the ceiling slopes down after about 10 feet due to the roof line.
Does a 2nd sub make a big difference? I’ve read it does just wanted to see peoples opinions and I wouldn’t want to get a bigger sub if it had power I wouldn’t use if my room didn’t require it but if there’s a difference than I would be obviously. Thanks in advance for the help.
