Currently working through the first draft, looking for beta-readers to sound out the storty and characters. Willing to do critique swaps as have had some success with these in the past, finding people who you can bounce stuff off of as and when you get to it is very beneficial (looking for more of these if you're interested).
I wouldn't call it a "vampire story", it's more a story with vampires, including a couple of different takes on the usual tropes and cliches. Here's a small punchy blurb to see if it might take your fancy. I'll include a link to the prologue as a final taster to see if it's something you'd be interested in.
Vampires are forced to live in a walled off part of the city - a reward for services long since forgotten. Tensions are once again at boiling point between the two factions, with elements on both sides prepared to take up the sword in order to right the wrongs of their intertwined pasts. One man, the single human captain of the vampire guard, struggles to keep the peace while facing derision from everywhere he turns. If he can't prevent the coming storm, it's going to be a bloodbath.

Okay so quick back story. My mom and I don’t really get along. I live with her and we put on a good front towards eachother but underneath that we have a shitty relationship. Mostly because she ignored all of my mental health issues as a child/teen and would constantly tell me and my siblings she hated us growing up. Everything was an inconvenience for her.
But I’m a little nervous because recently she’s been acting very strange. I’m Italian on my dad’s side of the family only. I go to my nonnas every Sunday and have since I was a kid. I have many cousins that I hangout with. I love my family. In the past few months my mom will pretend she has no idea my siblings and I go to my nonnas on Sundays. When I’m leaving she’s like “where are you going??” And acts dumbfounded or like we are betraying her in some type of way. I still go. Within the last couple weeks she started wearing all gold jewelry (typical in Italian families) when she has worn silver my entire life. I thought it was strange but didn’t think too much into it until tonight.
So tonight I come home from my nonnas because it’s Sunday and my mom is at the kitchen table with her boyfriend, my aunt, and my uncle EATING PASTA. I walk in and she looks at me and goes “you missed Sunday dinner” and I’m like “you never told me you were making dinner today or that you wanted me to be here and you know I go to nonnas every Sunday.” And my aunt chimes in and goes “yeah well you can miss your nonnas to eat with us on Sundays too” and my mom goes “yeah everyone is available on Sundays so we’re having Sunday dinner” but not everyone is available because as we know my siblings and I go to my NONNNNNNAAAASSSS. So I just looked at my mom and go “oh yeah is that why you’re doing it on Sundays?”
What kind of weirdo behavior is this? Am I imagining things or thinking about it too deep?

Had a club gig last night at this venue from 10 to 3am. I’m known for playing night energy vocal house, house classics, disco and tribal / tech house.
The venue was really nice and small. The club it was packed at 11am. The night is amazing, half the room is there specifically to hear me play, patrons are really digging the vibe, dancing hooting and screaming, hands in the hair etc.
I get tons of great comments. I’m still getting DMs from Patrons thanking fo my amazing set. I see happy faces and the bar is selling a ton of drinks!
Plotte twist: Around 2am the owner comes to me to complain that I’m playing « too many vocals », that he prefers the DJs at the venue to plays “ underground deep house with less vocals » (which is something I can do, but this was never discussed prior to the booking). He then asks me to change my program.
Knowing exactly what will happen next, I transition into said « deep house with less vocals »,and it ends up killing the vibe and within 4 songs the club in empty!
It was a gut wrenching experience. I’ve never had this happen to me in the 25 years I’ve been doing this. I felt so embarrassed and sad, but mostly confused about the owner basically sabotaging his own club and bar sales.
I know I cannot please everyone with what I play. But for the owner, who’s packed club is HAPPENING with patrons loving what I’m doing to throw me under the bus like that was a tough pill to swallow.
I feel like He should have left me do my job, have a successful night and then just not book me because I’m not “the right fit”.
I regret not just continuing with my Scheduled program against the wishing of the owner. It’s not like I’m going to get booked there again either way.
What do you have done?

 | So I know we didn’t get the community challenge done for vol 8 which I’m starting to think I was intentionally done so that we might end up being able to earn in in vol 9 considering it was said that there were “4 types of contracts to work on including the blacklist contracts” (which I have a feeling that they may have made some changes that makes no sense to the original lore). Nevertheless the less I suspect that the “Pagani Huayra BC owned by Racer X” can be obtained through one of the “other 3 contract types” through extraction along possibly with past league racer cars from vol 7 & vol 8 for those who missed out. There is always the possibility of me being wrong but it’s just an educated guess. Anyway I decided to build it myself and when through a few color corrections between everything in case they decided to prove me wrong. So l've been using a fake number for looking for escorts as I was advised to through some forums and used the fake number for a WhatsApp account just in case on my old phone.
Last week I received the following message on WhatsApp;
Hey Kice Smith mate
I have several reports of yours where you can clearly be seen trying to screw up the service of the escort girls, those girls are advertised on those pages by agencies that even buy the underwear they wear, you only waste their time and the Time here is money, they hired me to make up for lost time, for the inconvenience caused you are under the obligation to pay £1700 or have to face me and the entire organization, we are willing to draw every last drop of blood so that Pay me and this can be resolved peacefully.
I saw this message a week later and I responded back saving how do I pav it took them 3 days to reply back via calling me 4 times on WhatsApp which I didn't pick up. I asked the question again on text and they said PayPal or bank transfer. I chose PayPal then I said could I do cash they said no don't fuck around then I said I don't have the money then they responded saying don't mess with me motherfucker. I did some research on this subreddit and found it it was a similar type of scam everyone else is experiencing so I replied back saying I'm 12 to see thier reaction. They said don't fuck with me pay now and you can be free peacefully. I said I was reporting this to the police and they said hahaha go ahead just remember at some point you will be alone. After that I reported them and blocked them. Deleted my fake WhatsApp account and reset my phone and through it away.
Just wondering if I'm safe or not, as they did call me a few times and they was very rude but my number that they messaged is fake so it can't be traced as I used a fake number app however I'm worried they can find my ip or web address through WhatsApp or something. My account deosnt have my face on the profile pic nor my real name.
I have adhd and can be a bit hot headed but I also suffer from very severe anxiety so help would be appreciated thank you.

1) How to see my **ping**?
2) How to see my opponent's ping?
3) Can I be throwing punches too fast? It seems like it struggles to keep up. I have just upgraded from OG Q1 to Q2, so maybe the Q2 has slower tracking? Or maybe tracking outdoors is bad.
4) I can't do anything while I'm waiting for a match. Could we have a 'ping' sound, so I can play on my Q1 while I'm waiting?
5) **When** are you playing? I'm playing 7PM EST and getting what looks like very high ping matches. I'm actually in Asia though.
6) Are **haptics** turned on? My first match I wasn't sure if I managed to land any hits.
7) How to enable Mic?
It does seem a better than Creed PvP, but only with an OK ping.
