2024.11.25 00:50 IAmTheItchyGoat I've come to realise that time and staying calm is the key to progress.
I've got 60 hours in Tekken 8, and having only really played Tekken 3 and 6 before so I can't say I'm exactly a massive fighting game player.
But, my god has Tekken 8 taken over my life over the past month or two. After a couple of weeks of being stuck in Orange ranks, tonight I finally broke that barrier and reached Garyu.
Watching various videos online and reading through this reddit, yeah I've picked up tips and knowledge but the some of the biggest things I've found that helped with the progress, especially tonight, was just keeping calm and taking my time. There's no hiding the fact that this game causes a lot of frustration and rage but tonight, keeping calm and just watching the other player really helped in getting out of my Orange limbo. There's no need for me to rush into them every time, I don't need to spam my buttons in hopes of getting a combo/punish. Just chilling out, reading them, learning what they're going to be playing is the way forward.
But not only is taking my time in game a big help, my OVERALL time playing the game has opened my eyes. Fighting games are hard, especially to people like myself that are new to them, but learning moves, doing drills, and losing over and over and over again is by far my biggest take away in how to improve - Lose and lose again until you don't, and then lose a ton more.
Fuck King's grabs tho, can't read them for SHIT.

hi everyone, there is a family of 6 kittens (two different litters) and a momma cat that live behind my friend’s apartment complex. i have been dog sitting for her for the past week and i have been feeding them twice a day. two of them are super friendly but the other four and the mom are very skittish. last night as i was leaving her apartment, the two friendly ones jumped into my car as i was getting into it. i have already contacted my city’s tnr program to have the rest of the family neutered/spayed and vaccinated, but i am worried about how it will affect them if I ended up taking two in. please help!

Hi everyone! I think it is time for me to make a career change. I have worked for a large health insurance company for the past five years, and my mental health has continued to get worse during those five years. I have a terrible work-life balance, especially since I switched from hourly to salary a few years ago, and I am extremely miserable. No matter which department I switch to, it is the same thing all over again. The only positive side of my career is it being work from home.
If you currently have a federal job, do you like it? Is there a good work-life balance? Do you see yourself being there for the rest of your career? Are there good remote positions available?
For background, I have a bachelor's in psychology, minor in biology. I have management experience in retail, hospitality, and in the dental field. I have call center experience, and experience as a business analyst/capability analyst. Any helpful advice or starting points that you would recommend for me as I consider switching careers? I’ve been trying to play this mod for so long and it’s just a pain. The mod itself says you need to play on CK3 version 1.14.1 but when I go to properties it’s not there. Any other beta build I’ve tried from properties doesn’t work and I’m just getting exhausted trying a thousand different things hoping it’ll work but the game crashes every time the second I start it. Any help would be appreciated.
