Ok, so my parents separated when I was 19, I’m 23 now. I have a great relationship with my boyfriend’s family and his parents really like me. His parents have been wanting to meet my parents for a long time and things just never worked out.
Anyway, they invited my mom over for thanksgiving and I let her know. She blew up on me when I told her that I wasn’t comfortable with her inviting her boyfriend because he isn’t my dad and I’m not close to him. I don’t consider him family. To me, he is simply her partner.
She said that if I don’t want to take part in her life then she won’t take part in mine and she will not be going. She said it’s disrespectful to him because she would be leaving him alone on thanksgiving to attend my bfs thanksgiving, even though I told her she didn’t have to stay long. I think she wants me to play house with her even and pretend like he’s some sort of stepdad to me even though I’m 23.
Am I the asshole for not allowing him to attend my bfs thanksgiving?

2024.11.25 03:00 SalamancaDonka NEW ACCOUNT East Fork Trip Tomorrow!!
I set out for East Fork State Park tomorrow!! I'm so excited, and I thank everyone for their tips and pointers, I will be sure to take them into account.
I've triple checked my gear, double packed for fuel, batteries and everything of the like (I may have slightly overpacked as well lol) My plan is to arrive sometime midday tomorrow, make a small bit of progress on the trail, and camp for the night. I will then spend a day of hiking and camp once more, finishing the trail the next day.
I will be sure to post any photos of the scenery or animals I may see (A buddy of mine said there have been a lot of unusually active animals there recently, but he hunts in the wildlife area and I will be in the State Park, so maybe it will be different.
