Tl;Dr; at the bottom.
I made a close friend a few months ago upon starting a new school. We get along really well together, and I enjoy their company. I truly value this person and think they're a great person. In addition to getting along in the normal ways, they had been an important source of support for me. We both acknowledged the other as our closest friend.
However, this friend also has an avoidant attachment style, and I think we've gotten to the point where the relationship got close enough that it got triggered. Recently, I noticed they were being more flaky, and when I brought that up and asked them if they still wanted to hang out, they responded that they didn't know. They said that they needed to talk about something but aren't ready to, but that they wanted me to know that everything was okay between us and that they just needed space.
I'm giving them their space, and in the meantime trying to use this time to figure out what I want out of the friendship as well. I have issues with self-respect and self-validation (I'm seeing a therapist about this), and while this friend has been amazing in helping me reclaim some of that, I do think I got a bit exhausting for her and I think the next step in my healing is to start internalizing those things. At the same time, I do think it's healthy to be able to express these things with a friend from time to time and I don't know if I can be in a close friendship where I can't do these things. I think I also pushed for our friendship to get close very quickly, and I'm willing to accommodate them in taking a step back so they can feel more comfortable getting closer. At the same time, I don't want to fall into the trap of letting the avoidant person dictate the entire terms of the friendship, even at the cost of my own needs.
I understand that I can't force them to have the kind of friendship I want and that I need to be willing to let them go, and I'm prepared to do that. I know I can find support somewhere else. At the same time, I truly value this person and the support they have given me, and I don't want to cut them out needlessly if they're willing to work on the friendship with me.
Tl; Dr; How do I navigate these conflicting issues? How do I differentiate what accommodations are reasonable from accommodations that aren't? How do I communicate this to them if/when they decide to have the conversation?

So, I’m paid salary for my job, my assistant is hourly. For this past month we have been working mandatory weekends. This was fine for a couple of weeks but it’s gotten old. I said something to my boss, along the lines of I would like some compensation for my extra time worked. Not even money, just some extra vacation time, maybe a half day friday, or starting late, just some basic shit. She didn’t agree.
I said they pay me for 40 hours a week, essentially. My boss says they pay me for the whole year so can ask for as much work as they want.
I mean, obviously they don’t mean slavery, at least not yet, but am I being unreasonable in thinking that an extra 16 hours a week for almost 2 months is too much and that maybe the company should offer me something extra?

I have 127,000 points right now, so I am shy 8k points for a companion pass. I was planning on buying points for the end of year and just realized these don’t count towards a companion pass. 2024.11.25 02:40 meestawong Time to get a new battery even though AutoZone said it was good?
I have a 2020 Subaru Outback that I drive often for my job around my city. I bought the car used in February 2023. I've been noticing recently that it's been taking a little longer than usual to get started and, sure enough, over the weekend it died after I left the hazards on for about 30 minutes (something I've done often in the past and the car has started back up again with no issue). Figured it was just time for a new battery, so I immediately took it to Autozone after getting it jumped and they simply said the battery was "good" after testing it. I'm very dependent on my car for work, so i really can't afford to risk getting stranded again. My gut instinct is that I should buy a new battery anyway, but I also obviously don't want to commit to spending $200ish dollars if it's not necessary. What do people think? I'm not much of a car guy so any advice is appreciated!

2024.11.25 02:40 ChompyRiley Psyker is too good. is there a reason to play anything else? Probably not, but I'm still going to do a no-psyker run for the challenge.
The psyker talents are astoundingly good for any archetype/playstyle, the powers are overwhelmingly great whether it's buffs or debuffs or blasting, their special items are way too good. Like that one that gives you extra attacks based on your psy rating. Or 'hey look just have some extra abilities and stats depending on what magic stick you've got equipped'. I think that's part of why I restart so many times. I just look at psykeanything and am like 'yo that's cool' then I play for a while and get bored.
I think for my next run I'm going to do a no-psyker group. This includes Cassia.
Chapter 1: Abelard will tank as always. Argenta will shoot the best. Pasqal will debuff, buff, and switch-hit between ranged and melee depending on what's needed the most. Kibellah will slash things to ribbons. And MC will... probably also slash things to ribbons?
Chapter 2: I'll of course take Yrliet along, and probably switch out Kibellah for Jae since my MC will already be stabbing things up.
any recommendations for builds?
