And some of you might disagree but To keep it simple if the game didnt do the multiple protagonist thing again and it was more focus on kiryu daigo haruka it couldve been one of the top best yakuza games (storywise). and one random thought so you guys remember when park died? nangyari na ba to sa cats nyo guys? yung dalawa kong 9 month old cats nag away kagabi kasi yung isa kong cat naka kita ng stray sa labas tapos super beast mode sya, yung isa naman akala laro2 lg kaya ayun boxing silang dalawa 😭
nag deep dive ako about redirected aggression since first time mangyari to sa kanila and andami ko ng nabasa na dapat i-reintroduce sila again kasi the trust isn’t there anymore & may chance na di na sila magkasundo forever (based sa experiences ng iba).
pero one thing is littermates kasi sila. does that make a difference kaya? like would it be okay to skip the reintroduction part? kasi sineparate ko lg sila from each other for a few hours then pinapag interact from a small crack lg sa door & so far ok naman sila. they don’t show signs of aggression or unfamiliarity sa each other naman even if together na sila.

This will be rather long, but I hope there are other people sharing my frustrations with some of the QA vocabulary.
So I'm in an interesting position, whereby I'm preparing a totally green person to let her get into QA. And as I know that interviewers like to ask about theoretical concepts, we ventured into V model and Verification/Validation, something I never needed to worry about in my 10y of agile testing. I did some digging around this subject and realised that there is a lot of incoherence in how various sources define these two notions.
Starting with Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software\_verification\_and\_validation):
Verification and validation are not the same thing, although they are often confused. Boehm succinctly expressed the difference as\1])I also looked into the ISTQB handbook "Foundations of Software Testing" and seems like that would actually line up with what I found on Wikipedia:
Verification: Are we building the product right?
Validation: Are we building the right product?
"Building the product right" checks that the specifications are correctly implemented by the system while "building the right product" refers back to the user's needs.
system testing: concerned with the behavior of the whole system/product as defined by the scope of a development project or product. The main focus of system testing is verification against specified requirements.Followed by:
acceptance testing: validation testing with respect to user needs, require ments, and business processes conducted to determine whether or not to accept the system.
Acceptance testing is most often the responsibility of the user or customer, although other stakeholders may be involved as well.Cool, so this sounds like UAT (testing done by users/stakeholders) is validation, while every other test activity is verification. QA are not the user (I wish we were, but let's face it, we aren't), and we mostly test by going through requirements/specification in the tickets, with some imaginative "users probably want this and that" stuff added on top, but by no means do I know what a user "really wants".
Reasonable, clear cut, and I'd be happy to stop here, if that is what the interviewer wants to hear. And so far this is most likely what I will tell the poor person who is trying to get her head around this.
But then I stumble upon something like this Browserstack article https://www.browserstack.com/guide/verification-and-validation-in-testing and read something like this:
Validation evaluates software to meet the user’s needs and requirements. It ensures the software fits its intended purpose and meets the user’s expectations.So far so good? But it's followed by:
Most forms of QA fall under this category. This includes various types of quality assurance tests, such as unit tests and User Acceptance Tests, which check that the system functions as intended and delivers measurable results.On what planet do unit tests (small automated tests often checking just output of as single function in the code) check that "software meets the user’s needs"? Pure nonsense, as unit tests can only check if the function does what our requirements/specification expected of it. Unit testing is surely Verification, right?
And then even further down the line I saw this article with slightly questionable grammar choices https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/differences-between-verification-and-validation/. This was what this person initially encountered when learning these concepts, as it's an article that pops up quite high in google results.
And here we get such info about Verification:
It includes checking documents, designs, codes, and programs. It does not include the execution of the code. Verification is the static testing. It consists of checking of documents/files and is performed by human."Performed by human" got me laughing. But on a serious note, this suggests that verification is just different forms of reviews? So according to this view unit tests and all tbh all testing of the software itself would again qualify for Validation, not Verification. Fine... I guess? Just wished this aligned with previous definitions I found before. It does however aling with the idea that the left "arm" of the V model is Verification, while right "arm" is Validation, as per this graphic I found:

But do interviewers really care? Is this really something that is being asked of candidates, navigating this absolute minefield of confusion? I'm assuming there is a "right answer" (Wiki/ISTQB one), and I'm probably going a bit too deep. But of all the "conceptual" QA subjects I covered with this new person, this was the only one that really got me questioning my own sanity.
I'm really curious what people think about this, especially interviewers (do you really ask about this? What answer would you expect?) and those who still work in waterfall-y companies (is this even still used in any way?).

I have doubts in my understanding between the two layers when it comes to the CompTIA exam and practice questions I've seen regarding them.
For example, a question I've seen asks "This layer initiates contact with the destination". (answer: Session Layer)
Another question I saw was something like "Which layer establishes a connection with device", and I believe the answer was Transport Layer
So which layer establishes connection, session or transport?
I've used ChatGPT to explain the differences between both layers, but even still the verbiage used to describe the two makes me uncertain when it comes to answering tricky questions.
Both seems to control data flow, synchronize communication, manage connection, etc.
Can anyone provide any insight that would help differentiate the two better or clear up my doubts/misunderstanding? Would appreciate any assistance, thank you.
