2024.11.25 04:50 NoProblemoMan OUR “FOREVER” DM HELD US HOSTAGE AND MADE US PLAY AN ORANGE ONE SHOT OF OUR CAMPAIGN (ADVICE NEEDED)
The title basically
So it all started when our new campaign’s DM said they had to miss a week. We all were excited to plan our thanksgiving breaks but then the old forever dm of our last campaign (currently one of the players, that’ll be important later) said no, it’s be there or you miss the next fight, I’m the dm again. So, begrudgingly, two of us had to cancel our family vacations to stay and play the session instead. It started out normal, with what could be an encounter with some squidlike wildlife (not from DnD 5e?). anyway we ran into pirates in an orange hot air balloon.
I mean hello? a floating orange balloon in the ocean. Sure, whatever. Onboard is where things really went South. The dm started obsessing over oranges. Called the captain of the ship, an “Orangemancer.” My jaw dropped. But that wasn’t all. You see, in order to bring us to the plot line, the DM railroaded us straight to a hostage situation involving his character. He knew the oranges were too fun of an idea to turn down.
Anyway, he was being pelted by oranges, and at this point the DM wasn’t safe either. His character, Jacque, being pelted by oranges, also began to succumb to the insanity. My character had obviously grabbed some oranges on the way in, so even tho they got the jump on me i threw a zinger right at the captain. Our warlock was keeping things in check the best they could, under the immense orange pressure. But Oh no, he’s the orange man with orange plans. We tried to make a mildly humorous quip at the NPC, but this bothered the DM so much he gave him up to 4 attacks each turn.
And he kept muttering stuff about "let there be oranges, the oranges have arrived. It is orange time...."? was this in reference to some obscure media or meme I dont know? Regardless, he shot his orange laser at us, and we couldn’t do anything. Now at this point me and the party members are all running low on abilities and equipment, and the hailfire of oranges is never-ending. Suddenly, i can assume because he was worried his character might die, the DM gave us all drugs. that's right. let that sink in. He said in lore, we could take pearls to reset out stats. What kind of example is that???? DND 5e does not and never will have drugs. I can't believe i saw this at my own play group.
Anyway after I atet the pearl we were able to get out of there (it was all me, I had to fight off everything as a druid, no help from anyone else). The DM was obviously high at this point, which might've inspired the new "tech" they added with the pearls. Tired of this happening in campaigns i'm in. Now all i can say or think about is oranges and i’m unsure if the campaign can recover. im playing a small druid character, so i had to stealth all the way in to the ship, and every orange threw me around the room like a hackey sack.
It's a miracle my character survived.
Our dm had his character in a mech suit that magically enhanced itself when damaged, allowing him to ignore all of this and just do whatever he wanted. I've never seen a DM abuse their power so blantantly, so, distastefully.
If it was up to me it would have been the watermelon wizard and he would've used watermelon, but alas. Our warlock was the only one who seemed to be keeping their cool at first, but they also seemed orange by the end too. I wonder if the oranges are going to be explainable, I mean, why do we need oranges in the first place? is there scurvy, in this campaign? is the dm trying to make it hyperrealistic? sigh..........i don’t want to explain the orange event to the others, and they said they’re gonna DM for the foreseeable future. please advice??? Hey guys, just after abit of advice!
I have the sony ZV-E1, it's primarily a video camera but recently I've been doing alot of natural light portraits which I've been LOVING!
I am photographing an event on the weekend and went to pick up a flash but when trying a godox flash in store we found out that my shutter speed won't go above 30 with the flash on (something to do with the camera having an electronic and not mechanical shutter) which I didn't even think of ever being an issue!
I can't afford to get a new camera ATM and my local camera shop don't rent cameras.
The event is indoors and is before sunset (but very close to it). I don't know what the lighting will be like and ideally wanted a flash incase I needed one.
I have bought a fiveray fill light just incase I do need the additional light, but don't want that in my clients faces all night either.
I normally shoot in manual mode, I'm imaging my aperture will be around 5.6-4, lower with individual shots. I never normally bring my shutter speed below 200, just to make sure shots arent blurry and know my ISO will have to be a little higher than I normally like...
Does anyone have any tips or anything that might help?
I'm relatively new to photography and have only been doing free shoots to gain experience.
I was approached by a company and asked to shoot this, I gave full disclosure and told them I am new / aren't a professional and have only just started shooting properly and really pushing with this this year.
I said to them I don't mind doing it for free to gain experience but they've insisted that I get paid and said there's no pressure at all. So I'm feeling ok with it. I just want to make sure I get the best photos I can, and any tips would be really appreciated on low lighting indoors

My dog ripped open one of my couch cushions and a lot of the foam inside is in bits & pieces, fallen out. I've temporarily repaired with pins and flipped the cushion. A few other cushions have small tears from him.
Anyone know a place that will do minor cushion repair like this? Drop the cushions off and come back type thing. Not looking for an entire reupholstery at this point, though I am open to it.
Google gave me a bit but would love to hear personal experiences or recommendations from places you have used.

Let me explain how this solar power contract works:
In 2021, AP government signed 7 GW of solar energy PSA with SECI. This contract is to buy power at fixed rate of Rs. 2.49/unit for 25 years. This type of fixed rate charging is a concept called "levellized tariff".
How much units will this agreement will buy????
For the estimation I took 1GW Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park as case study.
Now let's do some Math here,
On a sunny day, 1GW kurnool solar farm can generate 8 million units.
-- 8 million units per day
Assume we have 300 sunny days per year, 300×8 million units
-- 2.4 billion units per year per 1GW
Multiply with 7, as contract is for 7GW
-- ~ 17 billion units per year per 7GW
Multiply with 25, this contract duration is for 25 years.
-- ~ 42500 crores of units.
It is said that market for PPA is Rs. 1.99/unit at that time. So, we bought the PPA contract at Rs. 0.5 higher than market price.
So, total loss for AP people is
-- 42500×0.5 = Rs. 21,250 crores.
Clearly, no media is explaining the depth of the case. The amount of money is equivalent to total money spent on polavaram project till now.

Do you guys like how we're gonna have to upgarde the minon prince 10 more levels in order to get it max for th16?
It's adding an unnecessary 2 months worth of upgrade time when most players waiting for the new town hall will want to upgarde it asap and not wait that long (If they want to fully max th16 first)
I think that supercell should of gave us the minion prince level depending on the average of our current hero levels combined as it will save a lot of time and will be better for management

Does the difference really matter? Right now I’m doing upper body on M/Th and lower body on T/F. I’m considering adding a day to just focus on my core on Wednesdays because I have the time. But should I be doing full body during every workout? I like the program I’m on but I also want to make the most of being a newbie.
