2024.11.25 04:40 Vince-in-Montreal LIRA (401k) advice?
Greetings,44yo first time poster. My retirement fund is currently big on Tech and up about 40% in the last 12months to a total just above 400k and about 100% in the last 5 years. Iâm obviously very happy about this return but Itâs kinda freaking me out as some of the tech giants in the portfolio may or may not be in bubble territory depending who you ask. (MSFT, META, Invidia,GOOGL, Apple etc). Growth not dividends I know ATM.
Iâm beyond novice at this point and not as knowledgeable as I know I should be but Iâm thinking it may be a good idea to move away from large tech for a bit, and I am expecting a big correction in 2025? Buffet holding 300B cash reserves as he expects the same for a while isnât helping me stay calm lol.
This is in a Locked In Retirement Account, (Think 401k) but no clue where to park this that makes sense.
Thoughts? I know trying to time the markets is an easy or faster way to lose but?

Vintage Bulova hand-wind, red dial, engraved two-tone square case. I think Iâve ranged it from 1950-1960âs but if anyone has a more direct guess, would love to hear! Had it opened once at work but didnât get a chance to see the movement before my coworkers closed the caseback, so no info yet on that end (empty caseback). Some light lume remains on the blued hands, and the red dial is something special. Hasnât had a servicing done yet, but I thankfully work at a full service watch repair so just enjoying it for now. On a temp strap, since Iâm a womanâs strap length, having a custom strap made for this soon. [[YES I WEAR MY STRAPS REVERSED. Itâs easier for me to secure mobility-wise.]] also sharing the outfit I paired to wear to work today!

2024.11.25 04:40 WatermellonSugar FCPX 11: A note on custom command sets (keyboard shortcut layouts) when upgrading....
I upgraded from 10 to 11 and could not figure out why Opt-Shift-Z was not working to resize the timeline to the vertical height of the window. Turns out my custom command set defined ages ago in FCPX 10 did not have that key combination mapped to anything (makes sense). So I had to manually bind "Vertical Zoom To Fit" to those keys in my custom command set to get it to work.
Interestingly, other new commands like Opt-Down-Arrow and Opt-Up-Arrow worked fine out of the box, so I'm not sure what rules FCP is using when migrating a command set to a new version.
Anyway, hope this saves someone a headache.

2024.11.25 04:40 iwant2fly Mamaw's Apples - Baked apples with a Chex cereal topping - Recipe needed
My grandmother passed away earlier this year after making it to 100 years old. I have very fond memories of her bringing "Mamaw's Apples" to thanksgiving every year when I was a kid and beyond. Of course as she got older she did not make them any more and by the time I was old enough to know to ask for the recipe she couldn't remember. Knowing my grandmother the recipe likely came off of a Chex cereal box or out of a newspaper.
I have tried recreating it several times but have never gotten it right.
Here is what I remember of the recipe.
- Baked in a 9x13 baking dish
- Served cold
- Uses canned apples (Fresh apples do not come out the same)
- Is topped with Chex (Rice I think) cereal, brown sugar, butter, maybe spices.
- Has some sort of thickener. It is not runny when finished. Maybe flour, maybe something else.
- It is not a desert, but I think this is just my grandmother knowing it was my favorite thing at thanksgiving and saying that to get it as part of the meal.

For me, Siege is the reason i even started Arknights, i was searching pinterest one day and saw an image of a lion girl on a throne, fast forward 3 and a half years and here i am, with a monster of an account and still using Siege as my Vanguard because i like her so much. Her design really drew me in and after actually getting her and learning about her personality and story, she just got higher and higher as my favorite, and while Degenbrecher did contest that position for a time (still love her btw, second favorite and probably staying there), after Siege got her glowup in CN, it just cemented her as my absolute favorite, especially after hearing her dialogue and seeing how much my lion girl grew up. Iâm running a Ballistus Dread for some long range anti tank. Up front I have a Heavy intercessor squad and Bladeguard veterans with an Lt with storm shield. I was considering getting some aggressors for some more meat pushing forward but is that too much? Was considering getting an eliminator squad instead of the aggressors to pair with the dread in the back but Iâm coin flipping. Any advice?

I just noticed that my annual choice award email says that I need to make a selection by January 5th, and if I donât then it would default to the 5 NUAs.
So if I chose the 5 Elite nights on January 3, will they count towards 2025 or would they add to my 2024 balance? If the latter, itâd be wasted and I might as well take the NUAs, but if I can start out the new year with 5 elite nights thatâs actually be worth itâŠ
