I’m wondering the extent to which this explains DV couples who can’t stay apart, folks with terriable records having multiple ‘fiancés’ and other crazy interactions we regularly see.
There are clear examples (dalhmer and what not), but setting aside the real psycho outliers does this phenomenon explain folks who stay with sex offenders, violent buddies-who-been-convicted, or other allegedly or convicted nere-do-wells?
What if we l see this on a daily basis albeit much More low-key?

I struggle with binge eating, obsessing about my weight at all times, standing in the mirror multiple times obsessing about my appearance. My appetite is insatiable I eat when I’m bored, stressed, and when I’m alone. I continue to stuff my face with food at all times, the next day never eating much due to feeling horrible and self conscious about my previous binge.
It’s always a repeating pattern that never seems to end unless I have a fixation on something, even then that obsession becomes unhealthy quickly. Nothing seems to last, chasing for the next big thing that’ll keep my mind off of food just for that obsession to be the same thing that ruins me.
Is there anyone else out there that feels this way as well, as lost as I am? I’m not looking for a validation nor explanation, I’m not sure what I truly want. However a part of me just wants comfort in knowing I’m not the only one.

(Uk) With black friday around the corner I have decided to get/build a new pc. Only issue is I'm terrible at looking for parts on sale and keeping the same theme for aesthetics. I tried supplementing ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) for 3 weeks, about a week in I started noticing that I was feeling off. Restless, anxious, depressed, irritable, racing thoughts and just feeling spaced out and exhausted.
After the third week I made the connection that this started shortly after taking ALA. I can be an anxious person, dealt with it for many years but it wasn’t like this, this was different. I stopped taking it and within 2 days I felt back to normal. The only threads I can find on this are in regards to ALA moving mercury around the body, and that can cause these symptoms? From what I can tell these claims are unfounded, so I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this. It made me feel crazy!
