2024.11.25 08:21 bangomess I get sick of Joe sometimes...
I don't follow fandom for the show and so I'm not sure if this is something that's been discussed to death elsewhere. I'm thinking surely this isn't a unique view. I see people complaining about Joe on other shows. So surely there's people complaining about him on this show too...?
So, first up, I don't hate Joe. I find him very funny on the show and I find intelligent and think he has very interesting, insightful views at times. But sometimes he's so fucking irritating that I end up stopping the podcast and not listening for months on end solely because of him. It's not like I start hating him exactly but I just feel like I'm just sick of him and I've gotta take a break. I listened to the podcast for a long time with no problem but it's like at some point something switched in me and now it feels like a little of Joe goes a long way. And the problem with this is that I still love Pat and I want more and more of Pat but I don't want any more of Joe and so it's just, you know...
I've been listening since pre-Patreon. I got Patreon right away. I jump around episodes because I don't listen until I've seen the movie, so I'm all over the place and talking about really old episodes here. And I'm unsubscribed in August of 2023, so I'm not sure if Joe has started meditating or something since then, so fill me in if he has...
But one episode that really shit me was where Joe was talking about The Sopranos. Joe's never seen the show and is shitting on it in an insane way and at one point claims he grew up around people like this and he knows they don't talk like this and that's why he can't take it seriously. Pat makes some crack then about how he didn't realise Joe grew up in the life, which made Joe backpeddle a bit. But then Joe starts talking about The Sopranos movie, which for some reason he has watched. And at one point he starts saying that this can't spoil the show for him because it's a prequel and thus cannot spoil the future... On and on it goes with this nonsense. On the next SMC, Pat is talking about this like something is seriously wrong with Joe, so it seemed to make an impression on him too. But that episode caused me to stop for a good four or five months.
Then I return and I listen to a few episodes and I hit upon another that drives me crazy. Joe is ranting about the 'Barbie' movie and problems with the plot... but he hasn't even seen it! He's doing this based on the friggin' Wikipedia description. And I've seen the 'Barbie' movie at this point and I know that this description is not accurately giving the plot. He ranting about how the Barbie movie should do this and not that, on and on he's going, but how he's saying it should be is how to actual movie is. Again, just grating...
Now, I realise that I myself sound like a total nutcase here, ranting like this, but I really wonder if there are other people listening to the show in this same way, getting all agitated at times? I guess I'm just looking for some kinship or something. I'm also thinking of re-subscribing to Patreon and I guess I'm looking for encouragement there.
Like I said before, I went years where I loved Joe, was listenly weekly with no problem, so I wasn't always this agitated by him. But at some point, I don't know why, it's like I developed a short fuse with him.

Pracuju nově ve velkym korporátu a přijde mi to uplně k ničemu.. Člověk se nadře kvůli nějakym výkonnostnim standardům co by měl plnit (jsou celkem dost vysoké a člověk se nezastaví, ani nemůže práci dělat dobře protože nastavení minimálního výkonu za den upřednostňuje kvantitu místo kvality) a ještě k tomu musim dojíždět celkem daleko do práce..
V minulé práci jsem dělal tak půlku toho co téhle, měl stejné (trochu větší) peníze a půlku dne jsem mohl koukat na seriály nebo cokoliv dle mé libosti (třeba se učit).. v této práci, kde jsem méně placený, toto nepřipadá v úvahu..
Existuje pro mě nějaký důvod, abych v takové práci zůstal?

Hello, I haven't run my e36 for year. I did lots of work on it, including fuel and break line. I am planning to run the engine a couple minutes without the spark plug to make sure it get some oil in the head. I also want to test the fuel lines to make sure there is no leaks. I was thinking that I could also disconnect the injectors, so the fuel pump would just build presure in the various lines and I would be able to check for leaks after letting it run with the starter motor a bit. Is my plan make sense? any simpler way to test out ?
