2024.11.25 10:18 Pissed-Off-Panda Cooking Thanksgiving dinner is an elaborate chore
As the feast day approaches a reminder that your spouse making The Meal is doing a huge amount of work and your gratitude IS required.
I can tell from the closed thread (crying in bathroom etc.) that a lot of commenters are sitting on the couch while the meal is being made. Making the thanksgiving meal is a SHIT TON of work. Gratitude IS in order. And if you don’t get it, I can tell you’ve never lifted a finger to help make it.
I don’t think my family is unique in that nearly every damn thing is made from scratch. Turkey. Potatoes. Stuffing. Gravy. Yams. Mac n cheese. Dessert. This is a shit ton of work!!! At the end of the night my back is killing me and I’m exhausted. It is labor intensive— a labor of love as well as tradition.
If I unilaterally decided to cook 2 breasts instead of a whole bird I cannot imagine my husband or anyone in my family offering verbal abuse because of my choice. And if they did I wouldn’t microwave them a frozen dinner much less make thanksgiving dinner.
Just remember that if you don’t contribute to making the meal, the people (usually the women) doing the work are already planning, thawing, prepping, etc. and it’s fucking SUNDAY. And if you don’t at least do ALL the dishes you are a disgrace.
I won’t be making thanksgiving this year and I am so happy. 😂 To throw in a marital anecdote, my husband offered my labor to my in laws for thanksgiving. I was perturbed because they’re trumpkins, I’m Hispanic, and I’m not exactly on board with their desire of people like myself being ethnically cleansed out of the U.S. 😒 So no, I’m not going to be there like a maid. When I spoke to him about it, he said they just wanted me to do a dessert. Which is fine, but I’m not doing anything extra because of the political situation.
Like I said, it’s a labor of love, and I’m not exactly feeling the warm fuzzies this year with the in laws.

I would have been so fucking happy. This version of Viktor would have been so badas and such a cool skin too!
It could have co-existed with the (hex)tech priest I loved so dearly and I would be so happy. But instead Riot rip away what I loved the most and replace it with something I love less.
And worst part is, this VGU isn't for us Viktor mains at all. This VGU is for arcane fans and non-Viktor players, to make Viktor more popular so they can attract new players to league and/or make more money off skins.
Viktor looked completly fine in game. Now go finish the Shyvanna rework you started in 2018 Riot....
