Hey fellow Dota enthusiasts,
I've noticed a recurring theme in the "Read It" forum: players asking for advice on how to deal with underperforming teammates. More often than not, the response is, "Just get better and carry the team."
As someone who's been in this situation, I have to ask: what does "carrying" really mean? I'm winning my lane, executing my role to the best of my abilities, and contributing to the team's overall success. However, when two or three teammates are underperforming, it's unrealistic to expect one person to single-handedly win the game.
We're not playing 1v5; we're playing 5v5. The concept of "carrying" implies that one player can overcome the deficiencies of their entire team. I'd love to hear from more experienced players: how can one person be expected to carry an entire team to victory?

I just had a bunch of expenses hit me that I can't afford to not pay. I got charged 3500$ for a cleaning fee in my apartment (dog peed on the floor and they had to rip out the carpet) and I still have to pay my rent (1100$). With time-to-disable being pushed by the devs, it will pave the way for hacking gameplay and boarding. Having capital ships set up as a challenge to take down gives way for the original “gunboat” gameplay to happen. The Javelin will be immense once released and its safe to say some huge battles are going to take place. How do you think they will allow for ships like the Legionnaire to perform a hack and board while enemy capitals are moving? Does the aasimar have the ability to heal themselves with this?

Just a funny collection of things to think about it.
- James' sudden hostile reaction from Angela and Laura in the 2nd part of the game may be because his arm is covered in toilet crap that he never cleans off.
- Maria is constantly flirting with him despite his arm being all covered in that.
- Pyramid Head trashes the clock room bedroom but leaves behind a Health Drink, meaning that Pyramid Head drinks soda.
- James' sexual frustration coloring everything puts a very different spin in the fact he constantly is sticking his hands into nasty holes.
- Eddie having both pizza and ice cream mean that the demonic town is actually feeding the guy. Either that or he's eating shit that has been in people's freezers since Alessa.
- The dog that Eddie shot may have been Mira and its ghost is now tormenting all of Silent Hill.
- James' sexual frustration coloring everything puts a very different spin on the fact that the holes in the wall are distinctly yonnic ("lady parts"-Leslie Vernon).
- Angela's placement in the Otherworld means that she's been actually wandering around the hellish landscape for quite some time.
- Eddie's first encounter over the dead body means that he killed the Dream James probably when the guy was blocking his way to the food in the open fridge.
- "Leave" is going to be hella awkward with Mary's rotting body in the backseat.
- Pyramid Head just standing there after being shot twice in the metal helmet can easily be interpreted as, "What the fuck dude?"
- Have you ever questioned WHY Eddie would give a 12 year old girl a ride to an abandoned town?

The fact that birds are nested within dinosaurs, therefore being true dinosaurs, has probably received the most heated opposition of any other evolutionary reconstruction of any lineage. It was already suspected that modern birds are closely allied to extinct theropod dinosaurs since the middle of the 19th century. Still, this hypothesis had a very strong opposition back then. Later it felt completely into obscurity, even though more dinosaur discoveries were being made. When it was resurrected again in the 1970s, still many researchers weren’t convinced. Even after the 1990s, when the hypothesis was corroborated with many more data, many researchers, particularly ornithologists, remained unconvinced. Even today, a few ornithologists such as Alan Feduccia continue to oppose the now established fact that birds are indeed dinosaurs, instead trying to look for obscure avian ancestors that probably don’t exist.
For some reason, ormithologists are not keen on the idea that that birds are dinosaurs. Even if they acknowledge it now, it doesn’t affect them. Birds have a different method of study and a unique vocabulary and are usually treated as completely separate animals from everything else,. Comparisons of birds with reptiles are very rare, instead they are usually compared with mammals, fish or insects if at all. It seems that ornithologists really want to take the reptile out of birds as much as possible. After a point, it is not science-based anymore, but just prejudice-based. So why?

I'm 21F, I grew up dependent on my dad because I was taught that he is the head of the household.
He is stupidly religious and I am not. He thinks of me as a shame to the family and calls me a wh0re because I wear makeup (only eyeliner and mascara), because I wear jeans (not even tight), because I dye my hair (a natural color btw). He used to beat me when I was little, he threatened to sever my jugular when I was 12 for the dumbest thing.
As an adult, I am not allowed to take a walk, hang out with friends, go to a cafe, just go outdoors without one of my brothers or without lying about where I am.
Here's the thing, I am to pursue a graduate degree abroad in a few weeks. He basically agreed and helped me get all my papers ready and I have my visa appointment in a few days. Come to find out last night he was messing with me the whole time and he actually was not going to pay for my blocked account. Not to mention the amount of times he made me cry to get here, the mental torment he made me go through making me believe I will finally lead a normal life when I get out of here then changing his mind.
Luckily, someone dear to me agreed to help me out and pay for my account which is 13k, and i can't help but feel like a burden and I am scared and overwhelmed.
How am I going to escape, how am I gonna smuggle a suitcase out of the house, how am I going to survive, will I be able to land a part time job to pay my friend back, after I finish my degree will I be forced to go back home. I am just so overwhelmed, I am lost and I feel like ending it all would be best for everyone.
The feeling of being totally dependent on others is really weighing me down and it's worse when everything costs money.
I guess I am just asking for advice on if I am doing the right thing because I literally have less rights than a pet dog here at home. And before you mention authorities, police don't do shit here.
