QQ - does anyone know of a reputable but affordable washing machine repair service in Cape Town? My washing machine seems to have packed up (spinning thing isn’t working and seems to be an issue with the water thing as well) and i need to look into getting it fixed pretty urgently. I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place the post but I thought it would be good to get some insights from other people who might be able to shed some light and perspective.
I (M31) have been dating my boyfriend almost 7 years (M30). When we first started dating, he had high paying job but ended up quitting it to pursue songwriting full time. He got signed to a major publisher but it’s been a slow, steady journey.
This year in particular has been a lot slower and I noticed he really got heavy into manifestation this year. He started manifesting winning the 100mil jackpot and would spend hours a day visualising.
It’s come to a point now where it’s the only thing he does and I feel like he doesn’t have any other interests. Like nothing. We have nothing to connect on and I feel like sometimes I struggle to find things to talk about, no matter how hard I try.
Whenever I try to talk about our future, he always default to ‘don’t worry I already won the lottery’ - which is incredibly frustrating. He currently only works a couple of days a week and doesn’t really do much to work towards his goal of his music career because he’s so fixated on the lottery manifestation.
I also see him rejecting a lot of job offers because he’s “already a millionaire”.
I’m at a stage of my life where I want to start my life, travel and enjoy my life. But it feels like he’s become comfortable working the bare minimum, living with his mum and me contributing more financially.
For added context, he started watching lots of new age gurus on YouTube, whom I’ve done research and are really problematic. I’ve had to pull him aside and intervene because his behaviour started to change e.g. cutting friends off, leaving church etc
My perspective is that he really has really low self confidence, especially because his music career has been really slow and so he’s seeking some sort of control in his life with manifestation, mediation and these new age gurus.
I want to be a supportive partner (and have been) but it’s starting to affect my mental health and I’m constantly stressed out about this man. I want him to share and understand the responsibilities about growing up and not try to escape it with manifestation. Don’t get me wrong, nothings wrong with it - just also take action and become who you want to be!
I would say he’s become a bit delusional (and he would say it too) but it’s become a dangerous lane to go down now.
I have raised my concerns with him and whilst he agreed to step up, I’m not seeing much progress. He refuses to stop mediating, manifesting or stop watching these sketchy gurus.
I would love to know what’s the best way to approach this and maybe get him to tone it down a bit, or better, start taking action.
TLDR: boyfriend started manifesting and watching sketchy online gurus and has become complacent with stepping up to adult responsibilities

The Hebrews had a method of presenting negatives as a positive, where the real revelation is in the negative side, but presented benignly from the positive side to not anger anyone. These verses present benign positive examples to hide the real revelation behind it. They used this when blunt negative proverbs could be used to criticize and attack certain people and the text would be blamed.
Decode each verse by asking why the virtuous woman did what she did, then noting why someone else wouldn’t, which produces the question the young man should consider. E.g. verse 11, “he trusts in her”- why? Because she heeds him: if she didn’t, it might cost him. These are just my guesses but the quiz might look something like this:
