My biggest ick and major hate in life is that weird smell AFTER somone burhses their teeth. Its not the smell of fresh breath its specifically the smell that is left behind in the bathroom after somone really agressivly brushes their teeth. Its the smell of toothpaste + steam. And I've labeled it Hot Toothpaste Breath.
Its really awful and icky and I need to know if I am the only one who has noticed this and finds it as gross as I do.

Zdravím, Mám dotaz na ty, kteří investují, především do ETF. Zkusil jsem hodit menší částku do ETF S&P500 a zatím jsem s tím spokojený. Rád bych tam v dohledné době přidal více peněz, které se mi aktuálně povalují na spořícím účtu, kde úroky dal veselé klesají. Ale nikde jsem se nedokázal dočíst, jakou část úspor je "zdravé" do ETF investovat? Samozřejmě si chci část peněz nechat jako okamžitě dostupnou zálohu, ale v následujících letech neplánujeme větší výdaje typu dům. Investice je pro mě spíš dlouhodobější v rámci 10-20 let.

2024.11.25 10:42 lostanddepressed99 Why do restaurants/parks not allow DSLR?

As the title says, I'm curious why a lot of restaurants in Dhaka create an issue when people enter with a DSLR to do photoshoots. Some restaurants still allow it but most doesn't allow it (speaking from experience in the Dhanmondi area restaurants), sometimes they even ask for an exorbitant amount like 10k to photoshoot there. Even though we go to those places with enough money to order atleast 500-1000 tk worth of food per person.
Is this a problem with owners or do the staffs do it to pocket that extra money? I've faced this issue in some of the parks too (not Ramna or Botanical).
Also, please recommend restaurants with nice ambiance that allow DSLR to do photoshoots for free (not including food cost obviously).

I’m baffled and goving up on this game by now. Don’t want to sound naggy, but…
How does this game calculate chance?
How have I opened over 200 drops in the last week and haven’t gotten a single tier 3 drop!?
I do have all angel skins and I keep sticking to them because I really want eggy
But at least half of these were demon, where I do NOT have all the skins. Maybe half of them.
I’ve spent 20€ to buy 396 gems and already had 180 further more. More than a week ago I got 100 gems in a drop.
I’ve poured everything I had 60/40 in angel and demon drops, plus 3x contests by now all comes to about 210 drops opened.
One thing is luck, but how the fuck did I not get a SINGLE TIER 3 drop. no 1000 gold, no 100 gems, no Powerpoints, no big stacks of bling… nothing.
Do these chances stack? I feel robbed. Why do I even play the contests at this point. All i get is 100 gold and some sprays.
Now that I’ve opened probably around 350 drops from the start of the event. Am I guaranteed a hyper skin sometime soon?

Hi. Just looking for some advice on this topic. I am a post master student (Economics) living in Berlin, currently applying for jobs. I am a EU citizen, but I have not worked for 1 year in Germany. I only had a side cafe job for a few months at the start of my master (2022). Am I elgible for Burgergeld? I am registred here, I pay health insurance and I intend to stay here.
When I called the jobcenter 2 different people gave me different answers. I applied online anyway but I wanted to know if there are more knowledgable people here on the matter perhaps. I know I am not elgible for unemployment money, as I didnt work for 1 year. But I was unable to find the info on this topic in regards to burger geld.
I am from Sweden if that is important.

I'm 18F. I started drinking heavily when I was 15... at first because I was severely depressed and seeing death, now because my OCD has turned this familiar substance into a full blown obsession. With that, I am likely considered an "alcoholic".
It's caused both myself and my family a ton of trouble. My parents do everything in their power to stop me from drinking, yet I always find a way. And when I drink, I drink HEAVILY. To the point of passing out, most times. It's weird, because I don't even like drinking anymore... nor do I enjoy being intoxicated. I used to, but not anymore. I'm also on a lot of medications, and when those interact with alcohol, I'm left barely able to breathe. It's extremely risky in that sense as well, addiction aside.
Anyway. A while ago I picked up on smoking cigarettes whenever I got an intense and overwhelming urge to drink. It works pretty well... because I can smoke 2 or 3 cigarettes and be covered - no need to have 20 or more drinks to tide myself over. My productivity is not impacted (my day doesn't revolve around smoking the way it did around alcohol), and would you look at that, no immediate risk of me dying! It's a really inappropriate cope, but at the same time I believe it's better than alcohol.
With that, I'm currently 4 days sober. It's been really difficult, but as aforementioned, the cigarettes drown out the urge in the moment, until I can get somewhere "safe", that is usually home, since we don't keep any alcoholic beverages in the house.
I don't really know why I'm typing all this out. I suppose I just wanted to share my current sober status and my (admittedly extremely stupid) way of distracting myself. So that's it, I suppose.

2024.11.25 10:42 SntnlFriQ Switch keyboard and trackpad between Macs

Here’s the problem. I have a Mac mini and a MacBook Pro. MacBook is connected to one external screen and Mac mini to another one. I have a trackpad and keyboard to control my primary MacBook. However, sometimes I need to do stuff on Mac mini. I know that apple introduced the link to mac or iPad. But it’s not reliable. Especially when Mac mini goes to sleep. I can’t switch between MacBook that I use and Mac mini. If I need to awake Mac mini and input password, I can’t switch to it.
Currently the only option is to connect the trackpad and keyboard by a lightning cable to Mac mini. Then that disconnects keyboard and trackpad from my main MacBook. And I have to use a cable again to switch. It’s painfully annoying.
Anyone else got such first world problem? Perhaps a solution?

I have a GMKTec K6 that I'm using to run game servers. I found it to be too loud so I replaced the top fan with a 120mm noctua fan. Low and behold, it is still too loud for me. Since it's right next to my bed I can hear it and it bothers me. So I guess I'll have to find another solution. The other option I'm considering is putting a hole in my wall and passing through the cables so it's in a different room. Alas, if only it was as quiet as me Beelink S12. :c
