What is it about us Pakistanis (our culture and the part of the world we're from) where we bring with us certain mannerisms where rules, cleanliness, and basic respect for neighbours is entirely ignored?
Take the UK for example, where Pakistanis (along with other South Asians) began emigrating to the country in the 50s/60s/70s. Many of us that hold prominent/influential positions in our community are now 2nd and 3rd generations British Pakistanis - where we've had plenty of time to assimilate and act in accordance with local rules and customs.
However, Pakistani communities more than any other can be found.....
- Littering and fly-dumping on the streets - causing disgusting amounts of rubbish
- Reckless / fatal driving - to the extent that even insurance companies in the UK automatically hike up prices because of your Muslim sounding name and if you live in a populated British Pakistani area
- Inconsiderate parking - causing a nuisance to local residents, buses having to re-route, blocking ambulances, etc.
- Illegal constructions / house extensions - causing damage to neighbouring properties, inconvenience, etc. to the point where many locals move out of a particular
I appreciate that with the UK in particular, a lower working class of Pakistanis emigrated here (as opposed to the higher skilled Pakistanis that went to the States). But even those British Pakistanis that have since done well (got educated and are in well-paying jobs), they still maintain a complete lack of regard for others - moreso than other South Asian communities (Indian and Bangladeshi) and ethnic minorities (African, Arab, etc). It's to the extent that even the local Brits will point out our community in particular for these kind of offences.

I'm sort of a liberal woman, leaning more to the left. I'd still want my (future) man to feel and embrace natural masculinity, but I'm not sure what exactly that is for men in general. I care little about the labels of toxic and positive masculinity, as they're often confusing and vague. I'd welcome ideas what does it mean to you personally to feel like a real man in a relationship, what is important for you that reflects back on your gender specifically? Obviously outside of bedroom mostly, but I can understand for some it might be just the bedroom, too.
