Hey all, back again for another round of assistance. I drastically revised my first query and then tightened up even further after some helpful suggestions from this sub, and sent out a batch of queries a month ago, and...have only gotten two (form) rejections. I am seeking representation for my gaslamp detective fantasy, Psychonaut, a standalone novel with series potential, complete at 105,000 words. My family owns a home in Central Virginia to which Fiber was recently made available. We’ve replaced our Starlink service with comparable download speeds (with 1Gb/2Gb plans available), better upload speed, and better reliability, for 1/3 the price. Starlink mostly served us well, but we don’t need it any more. I’m curious how good the market is for selling 2nd hand equipment (Gen 2), and is it a pain for the buyer to get up and running with their own service? A little more context to what we have: in addition to the standard equipment we also have the Ethernet adapter, wall mount bracket, and longer cable (which has never been used). The modem/AP/node was replaced in the last 3 months under warranty as our original node failed.

2024.11.25 14:36 deadpocketss Electrical Work Done Without Al/Cu Connectors
We had a bathroom exhaust fan installed/added a few months ago. I just recently went in to change the bathroom switch out and found this (pictured).
From my non-electrician, google-fu, homeowner knowledge of household wiring, this is not how this is supposed to be done. My understanding is that Al/Cu connections need the purple wirenuts, Alumiconn, or COPALUM connections, or at the very least, anti-oxidant compound in a wirenut.
What I found was Al/Cu twisted together in a non-Al/Cu wirenut (red ones, no compound) as well as the bathroom switch itself having one Cu lead and one Al lead going into the back of it (not an Al rated switch).
For reference, I am in Colorado, USA. House was built in the 60s.
I just want to make sure this is actually incorrect before I contact the company that did it and see if there's any recourse. ... Or if I'm just another homeowner who doesn't know what they're talking about.

2024.11.25 14:36 tamarheylin Is it just me, or is the verbage now used in 5.24e spells and other rules more convoluted and hard to read?
I have a learning disability, so I'm checking with others on this.
Recently, the online service I use for my games switched to 5.24e by default. Hadn't planned on using it, but oh well. However, looking up simple spells like Detect Magic during a session really threw me for a loop.
The language they're now written in seems both more conversational (perhaps less "rules-y"?), but also longer and more convoluted. Every instance, I found the rewrites to be more confusing to read and glean information from quickly.
I know this could also be a familiarity bias- "it's new so it's bad", but truly every time we needed to check something the game ground to a halt as we interpreted the new wording. Even if it's not worse per se, does anyone else feel the wording in a fully different voice/writing style than 5e?

She has never been super affectionate or cuddly. She likes to stick to herself and occasionally she comes up and rubs on my leg for a few pets and then she wonders off. Shes playful at times but not all of the time. The girl I got her from said that she got her from the pound and that she doesn’t think she had a great time as a kitten before she got her. Anyways, the cat was apparently beating up her son so I took the cat in. Last week she wasn’t eating, using the bathroom or being very active so I took her to the vet. Had bloodwork done and all the works. They found nothing wrong. When I brought her home of course she went straight to the food bowl and litter box. She has been eating again, using the litter box regularly. She’s just not super playful and she seems very stand offish. Could she still be mad at me from the vet visit? She isn’t showing any signs of pain or discomfort. I’m just trying to find out ways to make her more playful, happy, and just at ease. I stress myself out worrying about the cat all the time and I question if I am doing something wrong. But she will sleep with me most nights. Does she need a friend? Any suggestions or tips?
