Wicked is reportedly a major box office success. I’ve seen it had the third highest weekend opening of the year, behind Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2. (Both of those were all but guaranteed hits; Wicked was at least something of a risk, though being based on a Broadway show that’s been running for over twenty years helped.)
Now, there’s nothing Hollywood likes to do more than copy previous successes. Witness the current boom in superhero movies, or the huge amount of science fiction films post-Star Wars.
On the other hand, though, recent movie musicals have a mixed track record — Cats was a historic disaster, both critically and commercially. Dear Evan Hansen also failed, though not as spectacularly. In the Heights was critically successful but not commercially.
On yet another hand, it’s not hard to realize that Disney’s formula for a hit is “animated Broadway musical”, so there’s a potential audience of people who grew up watching animated musicals who might be willing to see more adult live-action musicals.
So, are we going to see more splashy movie musicals — of varying quality, of course.
As a musical fan, part of me would love to see it. But I’m also a lifelong comic book fan. When I was young, the idea of movies that are faithful to the characters and stories I love would have sounded great, and as an adult, they did start out great. But they’ve become so common now, I’ve got “superhero fatigue”, and I wouldn’t want the same thing to happen with another genre I love — I’d want to anticipate, perhaps, the big screen version of Hamilton or Hadestown the same way I did Wicked or the first Spider-Man movie; I don’t want to get into the mode of, “Oh, that’s the fifth musical movie this year; we can wait till it’s streaming in two months.”

I want to get a great gaming monitor for my PC, I currently have a 27” 4K IPS for work (programming on my MacBook Pro).
I want a glossy 4k OLED and I’ve heard about burn in risks but I’ll be careful and the 3 year warranty sounds good enough to me.
Issue is I can’t quite find an easy answer for how simple it would be to have multiple devices setup.
I don’t mind having one plugged in via display port and one via a different port - and I plan to get a USB KVM so I can connect the peripherals to one place and switch between them easily - is this possible?
Is it possible to automatically set it so that when it’s on the Mac mode (productivity) the brightness is lower to avoid burn in risk for static elements and have it switch to HDR and higher brightness for PC?

But, the Trainline said they will give refund only if delay is more than 15 minutes, even if it unused. Is that true?

I feel entitled to healthcare
I am done with trying to be grateful for healthcare in my country.
We as a global society have enough resources to give everyone insulin. Of course, it is not "free", someone pays for it, but "someone" aka the rich have enough wealth to share it with the rest of us.
What is also really telling about this subreddit is how many people replied to a previous thread of mine that they themselves own stocks (?) of diabetes related companies or their retirement plans are dependent on companies doing well.
I dont want to be hateful since that would be in violation of the subs rules but let me be clear: That you are doing this(profiting off the exclusion of people from healthcare) disturbs me a lot since most of you are probably diabetics themselves.
And no, me getting insulin for free isnt me being lucky. This disease still sucks. It is just that most people are UNLUCKY. Fuck all this fake gratitude bullshit. Everyone deserves healthcare.
I worry that, with the rise of libertarian/ milei-/ trumplike regimes all over the world healthcare will become even more inaccessible.
I also will always when I speak to dexcom workers etc. that come off as company-apologists, be as rude to them as I feel like I can get away with mostly because of my poor impulse control to be honest
It is so sad that there is no way to fight back against all this greed
PS: I -not hate but- strongly dislike food companies too. All this talk about self responsibility annoys me. Not our fault that these companies mostly produce overprocessed highcaloric food with too much sugar.
People are different; some gain weight quickly, others don't. I for example am very slim and have always been like that. It's just genetic, I dont have more willpower than other people.

My dog Smudge, only 4 years old, was taken to the emergency vet Saturday morning due to internal bleeding from a mass in her stomach. She was also anemic, wouldn't eat anything (not even medicine to stop internal bleeding from vet) and in very obvious discomfort. The vet quoted 7,000 for a spleen and tumor removal and I don't have pet insurance (will not make that mistake again). They couldn't tell if it was cancer, we got x-rays that didn't show anything else spread but everything I read all signs point to hemangiosarcoma. So i decided the financial risk wasnt worth it to put her through all the surgery and maybe chemo to only get a few more months with her. So she was euthanized.
But what if it wasn't cancer and i gave up on her too easily? I didn't have time to get a second quote due to internal bleeding and it being on the weekend.
I just feel so lost.. she was my best friend and i feel like my heart was ripped out of my body and stomped on in front of me and I am full of regret that I didn't try hard enough for her because she was so young... I don't know how to cope

So just bought a 2017 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab for a great price But when I come to a stop hard enough under my car kind of makes a popping sound as well as when I move out from the spot it does it again. If I stop soft enough I can avoid the first popping noise and sometimes when I pull out from the stop. It’s not affecting really affecting the car from driving everything else is pretty fine kind of just annoying. If anyone can suggest the issue? Ps. All 4 calipers rotors brake fluid and brakes pads were installed recently thanks!
