I almost drowned in Kovalam beach a few years back. Waves carried me in and i couldnt plant my feet in the sea.. lifeguards rescued me. Couldn't sleep for the next couple of days.

I am 63 and receive a contribution-based ESA support group (£276.40 fortnightly). I receive a £2k per year occupational pension (military). I understand the first £85 per week of any occupational pension is ignored, and only 50 per cent of any pension above this level is considered.
How much can I withdraw from a SIPP (either in a lump sum or monthly) before violating DWP regulations?

I just started using MP recently to try and do some downsizing. About a 20 large, big ticket items...
It seems to mostly come from low-ballers. They make a offer for 25/30% of the asking price. (I have everything listed as FIRM, Cash only. I've done extensive research to be sure it's a fair market price, or a bit less than average, unless it's an exceptional item.) I politely say, "No, sorry"... Often they try a few times with the same low price, or some sob story, or justification as to why I should accept their Low offer. I stay polite, but firmly No.
Then they go ballistic and:
Curse me out. The usual is, "You're an ass"
Tell me I'm going to sit on the item until doomsday and never sell it. "I'll be in touch in a year when you're ready to give it away" (Like I care, I don't have to feed it, it costs me nothing to stand my ground, and it's not like I'm on a clock or something.)
Tell me to let them know when I "scrap it" so they get get it for free.
Or my favorite- Send a message, often with a pic, of another similar item they bought, supposedly at the price they liked, with a Nah-Nah-Na-Na-Nah kinda note. "Looky what I got, you lose". Sticks out tongue. (I usually reply with: "And I care, Why??" - Really sends them off the deep end- I delete/block)
Are people so entitled, Immature, or self absorbed that they think that everything must be their way, every time, all the time, and they throw a tantrum if it just doesn't go their way? "I want that thing at my price, on my terms, or I'm going to lose it"! Phbbttt!
I've really learned some lessons about human nature using FBM!

2024.11.25 12:30 OscarDeJarjayes I have some questions about online play and games.
Thinking about finally getting a Switch but I haven't kept up with Nintendo stuff since the WiiU so I have some questions.
How big is the online component?
I saw that there recently was a Mario Party game released, can you play with strangers online?
Are these the type of games where people basically stop playing online after a few months or do they have a longer lifespan?
Are there still people playing the older games like earlier iterations of Mario Party online?
Do they still put out games like Mario Tennis/Football/whatever? How is the online play with them?
Not a question but I looked up the latest Mario Kart and it's insane that it's the same MK I bought for my WiiU a decade ago.
Finally, what are the most fun games to play online?
I think that's about it.

2024.11.25 12:30 Relative_Spring_8080 I no longer apply to jobs that don't have a quick apply option on Indeed or Zip Recruiter.
I cannot tell you how many dozens of hours I've wasted over the last 6 months making a separate account for every single company, uploading my resume, and spending 15 minutes typing out everything in individual blanks thats already on my resume, only to not get a single callback from any of them. Hundreds upon hundreds of applications and I have not gotten a single call back. Fuck you, I'm not spending my precious time on your bullshit for some AI software to filter out my application from being seen by anybody because I don't have experience in some 35-year-old software that no other company on Earth still uses that you've set a keyword for.

Please allow me to explain a little about my situation. I'm looking for something a bit different, a bit unique for my third visit to this unique country. I count my lucky stars that I am now able to - I was not able to travel when i was younger.
I've never gone further than Osaka and I think i'm being an idiot if I don't. There is probably so much to see I couldn't do it in a lifetime. So i need help knowing where to look.
I have found that what I enjoy about Japan here is a little bit elusive and hard to explain. Maybe i'm a bit of a weirdo. Maybe you are familiar with what i'm getting at...? I'll give more context
First trip was solo - I spent a week i Hokkaido and then 4 days each in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka. Because I was alone I found I had profoundly strong memories and it has had a significant impact on me, although its hard to say in what way.
I enjoyed almost all of it but didn't enjoy Osaka, but I think that might not be fair because I think i was drained after 3 weeks; no social energy left, and sore from walking. It also seemed like a more difficult city to talk to people at bars in.
Second trip was with friends and it had a lot less of an impact. Drove all around Hokkaido in the winter, Rented motorcycles and rode all around Tokyo, felt exhausted and tired by the end of it.
I said all of this to say this.. I think my favorite memories were the rare moments when i was able to feel connected with a place, or really get an exciting feeling of being somewhere far from home and special.
Walking up a snow covered road near Annupuri near midnight.. steam coming off after being in the Onsen. walking slowly back and touching the ice with my hands as I walked.
Looking out the bay in Hakodate, looking out across the frigid water and thinking how insanely far away this unique place was from anything that I was familiar with.
waiting in Daikoku parking lot on a Wednesday evening. Not sure if the boys were coming or if I'd made a mistake but then hearing the revving of engines coming down the ramps as they all started arriving.
Stumbling across Toyosu and being befuddled as to how there was this beautiful, dead quiet, peaceful area right in the middle of one of the biggest cities in the world. It was a bit of a gem.
I'm hoping for more of... that.
I hope some of this rambling makes sense. Please share your thoughts and experiences, If you think there is a place I should know about.
